The Alpine Escape is a beautiful, tastefully decorated, welcoming home for a couple's get-away or a family gathering! We celebrated an anniversay weekend here, but would love to bring our family or friends up here for an other occasion! The house is spacious and has lot of room, so you can all be together for meals, games, or gathering around the fireplace, or there are smaller spaces if you need some quiet time. Very family friendly! The hot tub is on a covered deck and is very private. We called the owner just to make sure the tub had been treated b/c the cover was bent and full of water. They responded immediately, the tub was checked and there was a new cover already ordered (a few weeks before we even arrived) and on its way! Lots and lots of towels in the bathrooms and for the hot tub...can't imagine anyone running out! The kitchen is very well appointed and stocked...good knives, good cookware, plenty of plates, cups, glasses, silverware, etc. I love to cook and am pretty picky about the kitchen and this one had everything I needed! Paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, hand soap all there, plus a nice supply of salt, pepper and useful herbs left in the cabinet by previous guests and owners. The wood burning fireplace wasn't cleaned out when we arrived, but it didn't take us long to shovel out the ashes and build our fire...could probably use a new grate, but the fireplace has a great draw, so even if you didn't earn your scout badge for camping, you'll have no trouble starting a good fire! Wood was provided and abundant. The "guest book" with all instructions was the most complete I have ever seen at a rental property, and Laura was very gracious in answering all my questions before and during our brief stay. The road going to the property is narrow and hilly, so we were glad we arrived in the daylight, but once you get the lay of the land, it's very easy to navigate...you're in the mountains, after all! The house is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone and Blowing Rock, so there's always someplace to go and something to do! Great location for your next vacation!!Owner response: Thanks so much for taking the time to submit such a kind and thoughtful review of the cabin and your stay! Our guests' experience means so much to us and we are glad you enjoyed it and will hopefully come back with your friends and family! I know the hot tub issue was a bit of an inconvenience and we really appreciate your patience, I'm glad we could get it fixed up. Thanks also for letting me know about the fireplace, we have a very reliable and responsible cleaner and we'll be sure to remind her to check it after each cleaning. Good to know that we need a new grate too! Thanks again for all of your thoughts and choosing Alpine Escape for your vacation! Laura

We have stayed in this gorgeous mountain house multiple times and will keep going back - it's the MOST perfect. The location is stellar, the house is freaking gorgeous and so comfortable. TONS of space - we always go with another family so 4 adults and at least 5-6 kids. The boys take the basement, the girls take the double queen room upstairs and the parents each get King rooms. The hot tub is perfect. It's literally 7 minutes to Boone Harris Teeter, or 10 minutes to Blowing Rock. The fireworks on New Years Eve - just too awesome for words! The pictures are accurate, as are the other comments about the ammenities. There is nothing you will want for here. Laura is fantastic to work with. We hope to buy in this community at some point - until then - we stay at Laura and Matt's home away from home every time we get the chance!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your great review and coming back to stay at Alpine Escape several times. We always welcome you and your family back and hope you'll continue to come (until you find your own place, then we'll miss you...but maybe we'll be neighbors in the mtns!). Keep us posted on your future travels and let us know if we can help with anything in the area. Take care and thanks again! Laura

We stayed at the Alpine Escape Friday/Saturday December 7 and 8th, 2012. What a beautiful cabin and location. Everything was clean and ready for us! We enjoyed the fire pit and toasted marshmallows with the kids. Of course the hot tub was a hit with all of our 3 kids! The location is convenient to shopping, activities and restaurants. The owners thought of every detail and had convenience items planned throughout the cabin for all. Everything from the kitchen, to game room, to outside areas! I of course was able to enjoy the hammock for a little down time. We will be back to visit again - hopefully very soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I'm so glad this weekend worked out for you all! I know it's great to have a relaxing place to go when you have limited time away. We hope to make things convenient and easy for all of our guests. Looking forward to having you all come back soon. Thanks! Laura

We just spent 3 nights at Alpine Escape and everything was just as Laura had described and even more. The Cabin is in the perfect location. (in the middle of Blowing Rock and Boone). It is perfectly furnished from children's toys, games and books to comfortable sofa's and a great hot tub. The weather was warm so we weren't able to take advantage of the fireplace and fire pit, but plan to next year on our return visit. If you like to cook, the kitchen is stocked with everything you need. Laura's helpful suggestions and recommendations were much appreciated. The lighting is a little low in some of the bedrooms, but other than that, Alpine Escape is perfect. We plan to return next fall ! Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Karen- thanks for taking the time to let us know about your stay, we're so glad you all enjoyed being at the cabin and in the area! We definitely hope you'll return for another visit. Thanks also for letting us know about the lights, we'll have to double check the bulbs and maybe the wattage was too low on some replacement bulbs. Thanks again!

We would definitely recommend this cabin to other family groups.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your comments and for returning to stay at Alpine Escape! We greatly appreciate all of our guests, and especially those who return year after year. My wife, myself and our 2 young children had a wonderful week in the Cabin. The children loved the bedroom, huge garden to run around in and fire pit to toast everything. We loved the silence, reading books and taking walks from the cabin, sitting by the fire pit in the evenings and generally relaxing. We found lots to see and do nearby, infact I can't remember the last time I relaxed so much. Enjoy the cabin, blowing rock and all the surrounding area has to offer.....it's awesome.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Alpine Escape! We feel the same way every time we visit and strive to ensure our guests have a well equipped, relaxing place to stay while on vacation. We hope you'll come visit again! Laura

We had a great time at the Alpine Escape cabin. Excellent location, close to Boone, Blowing Rock, and easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiking trails. The cabin was very clean and relaxing. We appreciated all of the information we received from Laura ahead of time, and the notebook of information at the cabin. The child proofing was helpful for our curious 15 month old daughter! Thanks for a wonderful weekend.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your nice note. We always appreciate feedback, as we are always working to make the cabin a perfect getaway for our guests - a relaxing home away from home! We hope you all will come back again. Take care! Laura

Laura, Thank you so much. We had a wonderful time. Your cabin is beautiful and cozy. We loved having rest and relaxation after the busy Christmas. My husband and I have stayed in Boone, Blowing Rock area for about 10 years now and we both agree your home is by far our favorite. You have done a wonderful job making it feel cozy and like you are right at home. We will be wanting to rent from you again. Happy New Year!Did you find this review helpful?
