Windy Hill Dunes is an 18 story luxury high-rise that was completed in June 2000. It is one of the premier condominium complexes in the highly desirable area of North Myrtle Beach known as Windy Hill. Windy Hill constitutes a 17 block section of NMB that is closed off by the road system in such a way as to minimize thru traffic but still provide easy access (1/4 mile away) to the main artery US 17. The area is therefore very secluded, predominantly residential, with minimal commercial enterprise. Windy Hill Dunes is the only high-rise in the area; it fronts directly onto the beach along with mid rises, low rises, and private homes. The complex includes an 8 story parking garage just across the street which is connected to the resort by an air conditioned glass breezeway above the street at the 3rd floor level. There are three elevators serving all 18 floors, two of which are glass elevators opening to the outside and facing inland. Rides on these elevators afford beautiful views of the surrounding neighborhood and extending to Barefoot Landing and the regional airport and beyond. The first floor of the high-rise is open, with temporary parking for loading/unloading. Here there are paper racks and vending machines.
Though secluded, the complex is within a mile of Barefoot Landing and Restaurant Row with all their shopping, dining, and attractions, plus large numbers of restaurants and attractions (numerous golf courses, miniature golf, Alabama Theater, The House of Blues, Dixie Stampede, Tanger Outlet Mall, Restaurant Row, Colonial Mall, Super Wal-Mart, etc.) within 5-10 minutes driving distance.
Our fourth floor condo - now with hi-speed wireless internet - has magnificent oceanfront views of the beach, waves, and ocean. One can hear, see, smell, taste the beach experience from a 25 foot oceanfront balcony which has access from both the living room and the master bedroom, each of which contains a glass wall looking out on the beach. Enjoy viewing and hearing the beach from the living room, dining area, kitchen, as well as the master bedroom. The condo is spacious throughout (square footage: 1414 living area, 165 balcony, 20 outside storage), and has ceramic tile floors in the foyer, kitchen, dining, living, and bath and utility rooms, with plush carpeting in all the bedrooms. All living areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms are beautifully decorated.
The living room has a comfortable sofa, love seat, and chair with ottoman. The sofa folds out into a queen size bed if needed, allowing comfortable accommodations of a total of 8-10 people. There is a wide screen 46" TV and DVD/CD/VCR with 70+ cable channels and remote controls.
The kitchen is fully equipped with Corian countertops/sink and upgraded appliances. There is a 13" TV so you will not miss anything while grabbing that snack or drink. Adjacent to the kitchen is a pantry and utility room with washer, dryer, and additional cabinet storage.
The dining room accommodates 6 comfortably, while there are also bar stools at the adjoining bar. It has a mirrored wall that enhances spaciousness while reflecting the beach views for added enjoyment.
The master bedroom has a very comfortable king bed. It is furnished with a 27" TV and DVD and remote controls. Two bedside stands and a dresser provide ample storage. There is additional seating. While you can see the beauty of the beach, opening the sliding glass doors out onto the balcony will invite in the soothing sounds of the ocean waves, and prepare you for a great night of sleep. There is a walk-in closet for all your belongings. The spacious private master bath features dual vanities, a walk-in 4' by 4' shower, and a 4' by 6' jetted whirlpool tub to get you relaxed before bedtime. A built-in hair dryer is provided.
The second bedroom features a queen size bed and a 21" TV/VCR with remote control. Two bedside stands and a chest of drawers provide ample storage. A spacious closet opens to provide storage for all your belongings. This room has a private bath with a combination tub and shower.
The third bedroom features two full beds and a 20" TV/DVD with remote control. Two bedside stands and a chest of drawers provide ample storage. A spacious closer opens to provide storage for all your belongings. Just out side this bedroom is a bathroom with a combination tub and shower.
The private balcony extends across the width of the condo. It contains a table with 4 chairs for outside dining as well as 4 additional chairs for the comfort of all. Incredible views are 180 degrees. At the 4th floor level, you can really enjoy the beach as well as watch the activity in the outdoor Jacuzzi, swimming pool, and lazy river just below.
The outside storage area has room for all your beach chairs, toys, wet bathing suits, and sandy shoes. Usually there are already chairs, boogie boards, etc., there for use of our guests.

A fabulous 11 day stay! Family flew in from San Diego and Palm Desert, California for our wonderful SC beach!! Don't miss Hamburger Joe's (we went 3 times), Joe's Bar and Grill - the recoon deck is so fun, great food, and a show :) Bonito's Brick Oven for pizza and pasta - and don't forget the Day 1 "Hot Now" Krispy Kreme's!!
