What a great time we had at the Chalet du Soleil. Lots of great family memories created. My daughter loved snowboarding and we appreciated the perfect location for ski in and out each morning. We look forward to seeing you next time.

Thanks so much, Heather! We enjoyed every minute of our week here! The rooms are all so attractive / the jacuzzi was magnificent / the fireplace with great dry wood added so much / and we were very grateful for the Christmas tree you produced! Thanks for making it such a memorable holiday!

I have been skiing all over the us for 20 years and this is still my favorite place to stay. As a repeat guest for many years I am treated as a family friend by the owners who always extend their warmest hospitality to everyone in our group. This classic ski chalet is perfect for families or groups with sleeping areas on 3 levels for added privacy. Great room with massive fireplace and lots of windows. You can watch the Lionshead gondola moving along. No parking hassles here, just walk to the lifts. Comfortable and convenient. Plus, the complimentary wine is excellent!

My family (wife, 2 children ages 9 and 7) and I spent an awesome weekend this past fall at the Chalet du Soleil in Vail. You could not ask for a better location in the heart of Vail! We were able to enjoy mountain biking on the Vail race course, shopping and dining in Lionshead all within a few minutes walk from this location. The house has great European charm and with the newly renovated kitchen is perfect for cooking meals in. The owners look after all the details to include freshly pressed linens and a bottle of wine waiting for us on our arrival! As we walked into Lionshead, I imagined how perfect this location would be during ski season as you are literally a few minutes walk to the Lionshead Gondola. I'd highly recommend this property for any group or family looking for a great home to spend a relaxing vacation during any season in the heart of Vail!

My family and I just spent several weeks at the Chateau and had a great time. The water feature is WONDERFUL and you can hear the creek from nearly every window, the views are wonderful, the location is perfect. The home itself is very comfortable and the owners are very attentive. It was easy for us to settle into a vacation routine and the Chateau was a perfect home base. Miss it already!
Owner response:Denise, thank you for your kind words. It is truly our pleasure to have had you stay at the Chalet and enjoy the beauty (and cool summer breeze!) in Vail. All the best to you! Heather Kehoe

Heather: We loved your "cabin" - it is so well-appointed and welcoming. The grandchildren loved the sledding and "snow fun" on the hillside when they weren't skiing. We had a great "tailgate" lunch yesterday -- I took sandwiches and drinks to the cul de sac below the gondola -- not a moment was wasted on the slopes and the weather has been perfect for full days of fun -- even a remarkable snowfall last night -- so beautiful!

From Centennial, CO, Austin, TX and Napa, CA, our families gathered to enjoy the Vail ski slopes and "just being together" in your warm and welcoming home - away from home! Couldn't have been better! A great start with complimentary wine and cheese! Julie, Coralee, Elaine (CO), John, Drew and Riley (TX), and "Nonie" (CA).

We couldn't have been happier with the setup of this property. It truly feels like a home away from home, upgrades have been added smartly over the years without degrading from the ski house charm of the property. The owners were very gracious and made a point of being there to show us everything in person and checked in several times throughout the week to make sure everything was up to expectations. Adding to the experience, the ski slope is a short walk from the front door and you can access pretty much everything you want without using your car. We were spoiled rotten and would do this again in a heartbeat!
Owner response:Awesome! Thank you for your feedback. We're delighted to hear our accommodations were just what the doctor ordered...complete and utter relaxation! :-)

Thanks so much Heather, Thea & Fred, for your very warm hospitality. Everything from our initial enquiries to our arrival and now our departure has been a pleasant and friendly experience. We are impressed by how well our group of 11 was accommodated and all the small touches are much appreciated (condiments, spices, hairdryers, humidifiers, etc, etc. -- cheese, wine & crackers too!) The location of Chalet du Soleil is FANTASTIC. I hope we are able to return before too long -- the journey all the way from Down Under was well worth it, thanks to your wonderful hospitality. Warmest regards, Kerry & Vic Strzina & family & friends

My wife and I recently returned from our first visit to Chalet du Soleil (1/2011). We had several friends visit and stay with us. All commented on how nice the property was. I read the reviews prior to securing this property for our vacation. I can now also add that the owners went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. It truly did feel like home. We will definitely consider Chalet du Soleil for future vacations. Thank you, Heather and family, for your outstanding hospitality and attention to detail.
Owner response:We're so glad you had a wonderful time at the Chalet and great skiing in Vail! We aim to please! :-) We hope we'll see you again next ski season!

We, the Zoetmulder family, grandpa/ma from the Netherlands and Eric/Julianne and their children Alan, Charlie and Kate from Cory, NC had a wonderful week in the Chalet and Vail. 2 brilliant sunny days and 5 days with lots of snow. Excellent skiing and a very comfortable home to return to afterwards. For the grandparents, it is our first ski experience in the USA. Very unique. It was good fun to be with the 7 of us. Thanks Heather for your support. Thea, thanks for your hospitality. Jun & Anneke

We have stayed in many condos in Vail and Park City, but I will never go back to them after staying in a real house that has such a great old fashioned ski feel with all the modern amenities in the kitchen and bath. We stayed here with our immediate family of 5 + 2 grandparents and had plenty of space. We used one bedroom as a ski room. We took the bedroom with the jet tub and our parents took the basement suite. The kids all stayed upstairs (room for 4 kids up there). I love that when you come in from skiing, there are benches to sit and take off your boots and a cabinet to store boots and skis. We loved the 3 couches so lots of us could stretch out. I like to cook and the kitchen was well equipped although I struggled a bit with the stove heating element. We enforced a no tv week so it was great for our kids to go out and play in the backyard making snow forts and sledding. The walk to the ski hill was perfect for the adults but took some coaxing for the kids (slightly uphill) but you won't regret the location especially for ski in ski out. Our kids are young 8, 6, and 4 and they could still make it work especially by the end of the week. They have hair dryers and plenty of towels and lots of extra spices/condiments in the cabinets that I did not have to purchase. Lots of games, magazines, books and the owners are very helpful. If we go back to Vail, I will definitely book here again. I've already told all my friends how great it was.
Owner response:It was delightful to meet you and have you stay at Chalet du Soleil! How special it is to have guests not only from all over the US but international as well...and in the same family this time! It would be our pleasure to host you again at the Chalet :-) FYI -- the stovetop knobs were stripped and they have now been replaced

Our stay was wonderful (and far too short). This property was amazing! It really is mere steps from the ski run into Lionshead village, and an easy walk, even for an oxygen starved Floridian like myself. You can park the car for the whole time you are there (there's room for 2 or 3 cars). If you do feel the need to drive, there are two grocery stores within 2 miles and many general merchandise stores about 15 minutes away. The kitchen is beautifully done with very modern appliances. We had Thanksgiving dinner for 9 (including 3 kids under age 10) at the dining room table beside a warm fire in the very impressive fireplace. There was a huge TV for watching football too. The dishwasher made cleaning up pretty easy too. Everything went so well, it was the perfect way to relax with family for Thanksgiving dinner. After dinner, we stepped out on the deck just in time to watch the "Alpen Glow" of the sunset reflected off the tops of the Gore Range. Then back inside to the cozy comfort of one of three sofas to sleep off dinner. When time for sleeping really came around, everyone was comfortably tucked away. The kids slept upstairs (with their own sink for brushing their teeth) and my in-laws slept downstairs in the apartment that has its own kitchenette. My wife and I had the 'master' suite, and I have to tell you, there is a very pleasant (and romantic) hidden surprise in that room. I won't tell you what it is, as we enjoyed discovering it so much that I will let you find it the same way. For the next several days, everyone who wanted to spent plenty of time up on the slopes at Vail. My wife and I took the kids for hot chocolate in Lionshead village, and were tempted to try ice skating too. There's plenty of restaurants in the area, although they can be a little pricey. And with the guest house just a short walk up the road, we ate most of our meals in the house instead of in the village. Coming from Florida, this was a long trip for us and I was nervous about the arrangements. But all of our communications and questions for the owners were either answered immediately or we got a call back within minutes. Getting there from the Eagle/Vail airport turned out to be painless, and we got right in when we arrived. We asked the owners to make sure there was enough snow, and they even managed to make that dream come true! All in all, this was a very good value for the money, and a wonderful place to stay. We definitely will be going back.
Owner response:What a pleasure it was to have you at Chalet du Soleil! We look forward to welcoming you again on your next trip to Vail! Heather Kehoe, property manager

Great family reunion and a fabulous week of skiing! We love the house -- so very comfortable and inviting. Y'all are great hosts! Do continue to feed the fox -- he likes "Alpo" Prime Cuts in Gravy -- beef -- about 2-3 spoonfuls in the indentation in the snow at the edge of the deck. He shows up about 7pm each night! A bonus to each evening!! Thanks for telling us about watching the sunset from the top of the gondola -- it was spectacular! We all had a special week. Thank you!
