Owner Description
Owner Glenn Wallace is a singer/songwriter who has toured the US for many years before settling down on Grand Island, NY. He has written a number of songs that have won National and International awards, and has performed in every State and a few other countries. Some well known Acoustic performers have even done performances at Glenn's home when they are in the area. He also has a stringed instrument collection that is displayed on the walls along with other antiques which give it a very warm and cozy feel that you won't get at any hotel and very few other home rentals.
Glenn restored 3 older homes in the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area and so has put many years of his own work and loving care in his home on the Niagara River and it shows.
There are more amenities than you can imagine and it is the best lodging you will find in the area, and also the best location.
Why the Owner Chose Niagara Falls
Most people do not know that Western New York has the best summers in the entire US.
Lake Erie and Lake Ontario tend to keep it a little cooler, so 70's and 80's are the norm but
90's are also commmon. However, it has never been 100 degrees, so we enjoy the hot weather without being uncomfortably hot. Spring and Fall are also very enjoyable seasons here. And, winter? A little snow is no big deal, and if you ski or snow mobile it
is very nice. We don't get the distructive weather systems many other parts of the country get,
so in many ways we have the best weather in the US.
For me, being right on the Niagara River makes this one of the best places in the world
to live.
I didn't realize just how much I would enjoy sharing my home with people from all over the world.
I have made some great new friends.

We loved the gorgeous view of the river. We spent 1 day just relaxing at the house, swimming in the pool, sitting in the hot tub and fishing off the dock. Very nice place.

We had a very nice couples getaway at this property. This property was exactly what we needed. We came in from Rochester, so the drive wasn't long, but we felt like we were very far from home.....can't wait until we do it again!

Our stay was wonderful. The house is spacious and cozy, and all the ammenities are there. The pool, the hot tub, the fire pit, the dock, laundry, TV's, the river views were all added features. Plenty of towels and a fully stocked kitchen made the stay even more enjoyable. We didn't want to leave! The price was right & Mr. Wallace was a joy to deal with. We plan to go back again! We have become spoiled by renting homes for vacation over hotels. This home cost about the same as two rooms in a hotel, yet we had private bedrooms, separate baths, a great room/media room with adjacent kitchen and wrap around deck overlooking the pool, river and dock. All towels, linens and necessities were provided. With our boat we went to the beach at Beaver Island St Park, and the Erie Canal. We were all incredibly impressed by the crystal clear waters of the Niagara, lakes Erie and Ontario, and even had luck pulling in bass right off the end of the dock. Grand Island is one of the few undeveloped, unspoiled areas left in the area It's a great, centrally located place to explore all the area has to offer. We were not ready to leave!
