The largest of the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Croix is easily accessible and offers a more relaxed atmosphere than St. Thomas, but more activity options than quieter St. John.
Visit the unique and beautiful Danish Colonial town of Christensted and the historic plantations, including the well-preserved Whim Plantation where evening concerts may be available during your trip. Play golf on two wonderful golf courses; the historic Buccaneer Gold Course or the beautiful Carambola Golf Course. Attend health clubs, play tennis or go horseback riding on the beach or rainforest. At the end of the day, sign on for a champagne sunset cruise from the beautiful harbor. The island has many historic attractions, special attractions and wonderful artists. Shopping is duty free and much more interesting than St. Thomas.
From parasailing to sailboating, St. Croix offers a wide assortment of water activities. Sail the crystal clear waters, or the Nature Preserve at Salt River. The Cotton House has it's own private beach where you can snorkel and dive in nearby reefs and even a sunken shipwreck. On a calm day, you can easily kayak or take a sailing tour to Buck Island National Park. Turtle Beach on Buck's west end has been voted one of the world's most beautiful beaches by National Geographic. Take a guided snorkeling tour of the underwater trail and surround yourself with coral, angel fish, and crustaceans. |
