  Two families shared this wonderful warm feeling home for a getaway to a nephews wedding in Huntington Beach. Close to the beach for a short walk and close to the fun of downtown and the pier. Nice quiet neighborhood to help you relax. I would stay here again.

  This house was perfect for our stay! We had 6 adults, 2 kids, and a baby and we fit perfectly! The house was exactly as depicted. It was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Linda was very easy to deal with. We went in February for the Surf City Marathon. Our daughter and her friend both ran their first full and our other daughter ran her first half. The house was a 3 minute walk to the PCH where the race was, so it was easy to walk to and from the house during the race. Actually, we walked a lot! After a trip to the grocery store we parked the car and walked everywhere for 3 days! The pier and main shopping/restaurant area were an easy mile walk. Besides all the race hoopla, we ate at some great places. Freddies for Mexican, Luggattis for Italian, and Duke's for seafood. Can't wait to go again next year!

  What a perfect place for family to gather to welcome a new grandchild! We so enjoyed the lovely home and had plenty of space to share time together in a relaxing setting....loved the beach bikes, kids wagon, and even a pak & play for family...furnishings were so nice and everything needed was there....we hope to return for more visits!

  All accomodations were perfect. The house is well stocked, very comfortable and Linda was wonderful to work with from the very beginning. We will definitely be back. The location couldn't be beat - everything you could possibly need was within walking distance or a bike ride away. Lots of things to do in the area as well as many things in the house - DVDs, board games, beach equipment, bikes, etc. We really enjoyed our stay and can't say enough about the overall experience.

  - Kids TOYS, BIKES, beach CHAIRS, HIGH CHAIRS, COTS, boogie BOARDS – It was a relief to open to “toy shed (as my son called it)” to find a whole lot of entertainment for my 1yr and 3yr old. - We PARKED CAR in SHED - CLEAN HOUSE– The house is very clean and airy – not one bad smell - and great beach interior theme which made it very homely. - SOAPS, SHAMPOO, DETERGENT is SUPPLIED every bathroom/sink – which is very important to me, as I don’t want to be going to the supermarket when I arrive. - COOKING ESSENTIALS – the kitchen has everything you could need for cooking – pots and pans– and the owner left us pancake mix for the waffle maker, which was a lovely treat. - ROOMY and plenty of SPARE LININ and BLACKETS - Lots of places to sit and entertain for a large family or guests. - LOCATION LOCATION – One block to the beach - A short casual walk down to Main Street, where there are many restaurants and great shopping. Yelp the best food places. - HUNTINGTON local ENTERTAINMENT – Markets on Tuesday down Main Street. Markets on Friday and the weekends on the beach. Summer quiksilver surf tournaments – huge event. To start IT IS THE LITTLE THINGS that makes a great vacation property. The owner did that bit extra to make our stay comfortable, easy and enjoyable. I’ve been in some very deceiving vacation rentals in the past with those fake owner reviews on VRBO. This place is a genuinely a great place to stay, PERFECT in every way, exactly what we were hoping for and more. My kids were comfortable which means I was comfortable. We even extended our stay. I would certainly recommend this place to family and friends! Thanks for a great stay Linda!

  We have just returned from a wonderful trip to LA and the delightful Surf City Beach House. The house is beautifully decorated with coastal treasures and furnishings, adding to the welcoming seaside feel of this property. All bedrooms are beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable, as are the living and dining ares. The gorgeous flag stone courtyard with tranquil water feature and roof top deck are another example of the special features this house offers. The owners have ensured that all mod cons and necessities are catered for, from beach chairs, towels, toiletries and kitchen items. The house is located in the heart of Huntington, a block from the beach and a short stroll from excellent restaurants and shops. We had a marvellous time and would love to return again in the future.

  I am very surprised that this house gets so many glowing reviews. I would not recommend staying here. Although the house is full of shabby chic charm, it is in need of attention and repair. 2 out of the 3 shower heads have very low pressure and need to be replaced. One of the chairs in the living room is literally falling apart and the living room sleep sofa is very worn and the mattress is in very bad condition. The sink in the master bathroom is very slow to drain so when you brush your teeth the sink gets disgusting because it does not drain properly. There is no garage door opener, so you have to drop someone off in front to go through the house and open the door. When you leave, someone has to close the door and come around. This is a pain because there is no driveway so you have to go all the way around to the alley. There was only 1 set of keys when we got there. Linda promised to drop off another set but never did. The furniture on both the patio and roof deck is not comfortable. There should be more furniture on the roof deck. The toilet paper and paper towels are the cheapest quality you can get and the bathroom amenities are a mishmash of hotel samples and half full random items. The internet did not work when we arrived. After calling Linda 3 times to get it figured out, she finally told my husband that he had to call the cable company himself because she did not know what to do. After an hour on the phone with the cable company he got it working. The worst part is that when we arrived, it was 88 degrees in the house. There is no central air and there are no fans (only one ceiling fan in the family room). I called Linda to ask about what could be done and her response was that we just had to deal with it. I asked if she could bring fans over or something and she got mad at me and hung up on me! She called back 15 minutes later and offered to refund our money, but we really did not have a choice to go somewhere else because all hotels were booked. She never apologized for hanging up on me and did not try to make our stay everything she claimed it would be. My whole family was really disappointed and I would absolutely not recommend staying here.

  Owner response: These particular guests were disgruntled and unhappy from the moment of their arrival. It seems they expected AC. I explained to them that we were having unusually hot weather and that H.B. normally had very mild temperatures and didn't require it. (Especially being that the location of the home is so close to the ocean.) If you look on the web-site AC is not listed as an amenity. After the purchase of 4 new fans, they still weren't happy. The next issue was that they were having problems logging on to the internet. I promptly called the Co. and they stated that the whole system was down and that they were in the process of correcting it. They suggested waiting awhile and then trying to re-boot the system. After several phone calls back and forth with no resolution I told them to call the Co. directly as they would be better able to instruct and "walk them thru" the steps to resolve the problem. They didn't like that answer as well. After exhausting every effort to make their stay a pleasant one I decided it best to refund their total rental fee, and find them alternative accommodations which again they rejected. It seems that if the home were that unsuitable, they would have gladly accepted my offer and found alternative lodging. It was clear to me that there was just no pleasing these guests!!! I take great pride in trying to provide each and every person the very best possible vacation experience possible! I encourage everyone to read the comments in the guestbook at the home and on the web-site, the reviews speak for themselves!! Kind Regards, Linda

  This house was the perfect location for our family vacation!! Linda was very easy to work with before we arrived. The house is amazing - decorated beautifully and such a lovely place to relax. The beach is only 2 blocks away -we loved being able to come and go as we pleased. Linda has it FULLY supplied from kitchen appliances and bathroom supplies to beach toys, bikes, and a million towels (very important!). Our family of 8 were very comfortable and all are adult size. Downtown Huntington and the pier are a very short walk from the house. We had 2 rental cars and the garage plus parking behind is a god-send that close to the beach! We can't wait to book our week next year!! Thank you, Linda!!

  My husband, grandchildren and son just returned from spending a great week at this property. This was the first time we have rented a house and we were so pleased that the house was everything we hoped it would be. The location was perfect, the house was clean and there were more amenities then we expected. Linda is wonderful to work with and we have already booked with her for next year.

  We had such a great week staying at this house. The location is perfect, the beach is just steps away and downtown and the pier is only a short walk or bike ride. The house is immaculate and beautifully decorated. The sundeck up top was a great place for my teenagers to hang out when they weren't at the beach. The back patio is adorable and very private. The house had everything we needed, we loved it. The owner is wonderful to do business with and returned the deposit quickly. I would love to stay here again.
