We had a great stay at this condo! It is very conveniently located. And the view is absolutely unbelievable! Probably the best situated condo in the entire complex - right on the water with an unobstructed ocean view!

We stayed at the Kuleana Condo Room # 408 for 2 weeks in Febuary 2012. We had such an amazing time viewing the LIVE show put on by the Whales and the Trutles, right from our Condo and beach front. The condo was well stocked, and we enjoyed the use of the BBQ's not far from our door. We also found the pool to be a refreshing break from the heat. We had an awesome time, and would defineately come back.

Our 5th anniversary and 5 years since our last visit to Maui. This location was very convienent to all amenities: market, beach, pool, town, snorkeling, restaurants. The property grounds were gorgeous and well maintained as well as the condo. We could hear the waves crashing at night in the bedroom. We will never stay at a hotel again. We enjoyed cooking out and watching the sunsets. Everthing in the condo was great. We would recommend this property to all. The Trilogy snorkel trip was great. They are a class act with good food too! The Napli market was very nice compared to the Times supermarket. Renting snorkel equipment is the way to go but upgrade to a better mask. We loved watching the turtles. Have never seen so many in one place and right outside your door. Thanks for letting us use yuor home and we will return. Kathy & Gregg Neitzke Camano Island, WA

We stayed for a week in the ocean-front condo with sunset views of Molokai and Lanai. The condo unit was perfect with all the necessities needed for a relaxing stay. Plenty of snorkling right at the beach and the pool, crystal clear, was awesome. We really enjoyed ourselves.

This condo was an excellent place to stay. It is clean and well maintained. The views of Lanai and Molokai are beautiful, with the sunset each evening over Molokai. Right outside is a snorkel ladder where you are immediately joined by turtles. The pool is also right outside door. This is also a quiet area away from traffic, but is close to stores and restaurants. The grocery store in Napili is very good and about 5 minutes away. Thank you for the stay. We will definitely do it again!

We stayed at Kathy and Jim's Condo from June 19th -29th 2011. The condo was very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect! Kuleana is a beautifully kept condo resort. The grounds are lovely and the heated pool was great. You can't get any better oceanfront than this. The sound of the waves, the turtles feeding on the rocks and the beautiful sunsets every night are just a few of the amenities. Two of our girls stayed in the unit that adjoins this one and that worked really well for us, together but separate when we wanted to be. Great snorkeling at Honolua Bay and off of Molokini, the Maui Ocean Center, the road to Hana, sunrise on Mt. Haleakala, the slack key guitar festival at the Maui Arts and Cultural center are just a few of the activities we did. Looking forward to coming back in the winter months to see the whales. Thank you Jim and Kathy for sharing this little piece of paradise with us. Frank and Kathy Halm

We enjoyed absolutely everything about this condo. It was clean and well maintained, as were the grounds of the property. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai watching the sunsets and were able to spot whales from there one morning. My husband swam with the sea turtles several times, and we both enjoyed the beach and the pool. We walked to the Farmer's Market and the grocery store a couple of times. I would also recommend the "Summit Deluxe" bike tour with Haleakala Bike Company in Haiku. Alex was our guide, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful condo. The location was amazing with snorkeling and swimming at our doorstep. The nightly sunsets from the lanai were only enhanced by the barbeques being right outside our door, enabling us to grill up our dinner, enjoy cocktails with the neighbors and watch the whales the entire time. We could not have scripted a more enjoyable vacation. We'll definitely be back.

We thought your view of the ocean,of the grounds and flowers, and of the giant sea turtles was fantastic!!!!! We loved all the activities that we could do around the island and on the ocean. We were disappointed that you didn't have a shade to bring down on your patio to block out the heat and sunlight from coming into the unit. The blinds on the sliding glass doors were too light and people could see into the livingroom/dining room. With that hot western sun shining in the apartment the unit just couldn't cool off, even with the ceiling fan. Also, people barbequed into the night and could see through the blinds on that southern side and when they walked by the front of the unit they'd look through the front blinds on that sliding glass door. We tried to let some cool air into the livingroom, but I found out that I couldn't walk around with my nightie on because people would look through both blinds of the sliding glass doors!!!!!!!! No privacy!!!!!!!!!. We'd turn the lights off in the livingroom but with the TV lights shining, people could still look into the unit by looking through either or both of the sliding glass doors even with the blinds down. You need darker shades for keeping out the heat and for keeping people from looking in. I would not recommend this unit to any of my friends until you address changing the blinds on both sliding glass doors and also by putting another shade on the front patio like other units have to keep out the heat and sunlight!!!!!! Also, my husband thought you should write directions down on how to use the remote control with the TV. He had to stand up and change the channels on the TV by hand. Please consider my suggestions to improve your guests stay.
Owner response:The condo is decorated and loved by us and numerous returning guests exactly the way it is which includes the solar shades. The solar shade fabric is a sun control (glare reduction / heat reduction) fabric with a 5% openness factor blocking 95% of all harmful UV rays. During day you can not see into the condo when the shades are down and at night you see shadows. It's a tradeoff of being able to enjoy the view during the day with the shades down. The condo is oceanfront. There are no shade trees in front, only the ocean. When the sun sets it does shine off the water and directly into the condo for approximately 1 hour. The condo does cool down by turning on the livingroom ceiling fan and opening the sliding glass doors for the tradewinds. Also, the bedroom has a ceiling fan and a temperature controlled air conditioner. The TV remote is an universal standard remote that operates both the TV and the DVR. Therefore, the switch has to be moved to TV to operate the TV or DVR to operate the DVR. If previous guests were using the DVR they may not always switch back to TV. Nothing fancy here only the standard remote.

WOW Better than I ever could have expected. There is no better location on Maui. I was there with my 12 and 14 year old children and they had a blast. Just walk out the front door and right on to the lava rock jetty and snorkel with several 200 pound turtles. This is the closest unit to the beach, totally unobstrucred view of the islands. The furnishings are very nice (except the pull out bed) and the grounds are lush, you are surrounded with flowering plants. We enjoyed the beach so much we never went in the pool. The only thing missing was the surf. Now we know better than to expect it in the summer. I hope to be back in the winter with a new bride.
Owner response:Pull out sofa mattres was replaced and upgraded to highest quality May 2011.

This condo was fantastic and the grounds too. If you love natural beauty and a slower pace rather than a hugh resort this is the perfect place.I had only read great things about this place, but you never know until you experience it for yourself. The condo is clean, updated and in the best possible location at this resort. The sunsets were amazing and we did not even have to leave the comfort of the lani to have the perfect view. We also saw more turtles at our place than on the snorkle tour we paid big bucks for. I loved the fact that the pool was not crowded and the chairs were not stacked upon eachother as they are at the big resorts. So peaceful and relaxing. This complex is also in a fantastic location. Close to other resort areas, shops, resturants, you name it. We can't imagine staying anywhere else in Maui. We have been spoiled! We are already scheduling the next trip.

Just returned from a week long stay and it was the hardest thing Ive ever done. How do you leave paradise, why would anyone want to? This property matches the island, laid back, comfortable, great access to everything and the grounds are amazing and so well manicured. The rental procedure was easy and we loved the access code entry. Thanks to the owners of this property we had a wonderful vacation. Anyone could fall in love with the huge turtles just steps away from your lanai. We waited for them everyday and raced to the water snokel gear in hand. Not only have I alredy recommended this property to my coworkers I plan on renting both units next year and we want to bring our entire family.

We stayed here with our 3 year old daughter and had an absolutely wonderful stay. The unit is absolutely ocean front and we had several great meals grilling 10 feet away and watching the sunset. The pool is great and definitely one of the larger ones at the resorts nearby. The property is also very close to Napili beach was great for some day visits as well as nearby some hikes a bit to the north. We've stayed at larger branded vacation resorts and other condo rentals and this is by far one of the best. Would highly recommend it for a couple or small family.

Jim and Kathy, Thank you for opening your condo to guests. We could not have been happier with the location and the quality of your place. We had everything we needed to have a totally relaxing and enjoyable experience. The views of sunset from your lanai were ideal and beautiful. My only complaint was that the sun set too fast! The Kuleana property was absolutely beautiful and we loved the pool so close by. The condo property was quiet as well. We would have no hesitation recommending your place to others, nor would we have any hesitation about staying there again in the future. Again, thanks!

We stayed in Kuleana 407 and 408 for a week. Maui is a beautiful place to visit and the Dow¹s condos are the ideal place to stay. We rented both condos, which was perfect. We had one for the adults and one for the kids. We were right on the water, and in the mornings we would sit on the lanai, drink coffee and watch the turtles feed right of shore. In the evenings we saw the most amazing sunsets right out the back door. Our children swam with turtles twenty feet from the condo, played in the pool, shopped in Lahaina and continue to ask when we are going back. This is truly paradise and when we return, I hope these condos are available as this is THE place to stay, relax and enjoy Maui. Thank you for sharing your condos. Mahalo

We have been travelling to Hawaii for many years and I think we have finally found the perfect location--- #408 at the Kuleana Resort. The resort itself is small and has a real sense of community. The grounds are beautiful. The unit itself has been updated and is very well appointed and comfortable. Its location within the complex is great and the pool is not only lovely, but it is heated!! We loved sitting on the patio and watching the whale activity, schools of dolphin , and the giant turtles as they swam or sunned themselves on the beach. The small sandy beach is only a few steps away. You are within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay and have plans to return again next year. Thanks Kathy and Jim for sharing your fabulous Hawaii home!!

Everything that was written and including photos represented the property as it is. There were no disappointments. The property was clean and maintained. The pool was wonderful and the grounds were kept up everyday as well as the barbeques. We went to the Outback, Lulu's, Stella Blues in Kehei and Peggy Sue's. People kept asking us how we found this place so rather than going into long explanations, we handed out a few business cards!

We stayed in this beautiful condo Feb.18-26,2010.It was even better than the pictures. The location in the complex has to be the best and believe me, I researched quite a few before hand.We saw whales every day from our lanai and the pool was just a few steps from the front door.Being a small complex makes it nice and being close to the grills are a perfect place to meet people and socialize. We met so many friendly and nice people and exchanged recipes and places to explore on Maui.We went to an open house and it's obvious that the owners here have done a fantastic job on updating the condo. We love the granite and spacious shower. The weather was fantastic everyday.Thank you for sharing your condo. We will definitely recommend it to our friends. We stayed in Kuleana 408 from 1/27 through 2/3. This was our first time to Maui. It was all that we had hoped for and more. The condo and location were amazing. With the BBQ grills right outside, the nice "warm" pool just out the backdoor, snorkeling and beach right out your front door, we don't know if there is a better location the property. The grounds were immaculate. The staff were always busy keeping the grounds looking their best. The whales were able to be seen playing just off the coast. You didn't even have to leave the condo to watch them. The snorkeling was great too. The water was clear and we even saw a few turtles!! The condo has everything you need. There are even shops and a local food mart within walking distance of the condo. We would highly recommend the local farmers market across from Honokowai beach park. The overall experience was excellent. Kathy and Jim were very attentive to our needs and went above and beyond our expectations. They made the renting process way too easy. We would highly recommend this property and definitely be coming back. Thanks so much for the opportunity to stay at this wonderful place. We look forward to our next visit.

We had a wonderful 10 days in this condo. It's the closest to the ocean, the closest to the barbecue grills, and has an amazing view. Easy travel up to Kapalua or down to Lahaina. Lots of closet space, and room for the luggage under the bed. Snorkeled with the turtles every day, often seeing five or more in a bunch, feeding on the algae on the coral. Would go again tomorrow if vacation time and the budget allowed!

We stayed in 408 in 2007. Everything is as the owners describe it; the most beautiful place on the island. The condo is well equipped, modern and very comfortable with awesome views. We sat on the bench in front of our condo and watched the turtles in the morning while we drank our coffee. In 2008, we stayed in a different location, and will always return to 408 Kuleana if available. It far surpasses the other places we've stayed at. Kathy, Michelle and I had the opportunity to stay in your oceanfront condo in September of 2008 and have been dreaming of going back ever since. The condo was immaculate and had every comfort of home that we left behind in California. One of the best memories is the time we spent in the evenings B-B-Qing next to the ocean getting to know the other residents of the complex. Everyone was so friendly and open. The access to great beach and great snorkeling was unprecedented. I can't imagine going back to Maui and not staying at your place. Your condo has worked its way into our hearts that you can't possibly imagine. Thank you so much for offering others to stay and experience such a wonderful place. Best regards, Scott and Michelle

We stayed in 408 for the month of Feb. Had our daughter and family next door in 407 for one week. The units were a perfect venue for us as a couple (3 weeks) and family for the one week. The beach is as close as the pictures show, the unit is as nice, and the setting was perfect. The condo complex is very well kept and a pleasure to stay in. The toughest part of the trip was leaving! Whales from the lanai were seen every day, many turtle sightings in the bay and lots of sand on our local little beach. Amenities are close by life was good! If every there was a place to feel like you were in paradise, this was it. I would stay here again in a minute.

We spent 10 days in units 407 and 408 with our two grown children. These units are adjoining and it was wonderful. Right on the water for snorkeling. Our 16 yr. old got to snorkel within inches of a six foot sea turtle 30 feet from our lanai. The proximity to Lahania and Kapalua is great and yet there is privacy to relax and kick-back if you want. We found the units to be well maintained and very liveable. We recommend these units, this complex and this general location.

Very nice unit. Corner of the building, very close to the water and barbecues. The pool is just out the front and is warm. We liked that the unit had good furnishings, inc. AC in bedroom for the hot nights, cable TV, and wireless internet. Snorkeling just outside the unit is easy and has a lot of good fish. Black Rock (near the Sheraton) is better, but this snorkeling was quiet and we were the only ones out. Owners are very nice and helped us with our requests immediately. Highly recommended.

If snorkeling is for you, this is the place to be!!!!!!! Just steps from the unit, and you will be swimming with giant sea turtles. Not to mention the thousands of other fish around. The eels are all different colors, and plentiful as well. This is an end unit, and although there were people around us, we felt like we had the place all to ourselves. It was such a treat to come home to the peacefulness, and beauty of this place. We've stayed in many vacation rentals over the years, and this will be one of our favorites. Thank you, and God Bless

We had a wonderful time these couple of days for one of the most enjoyable vacations we have had. You have a fabulous place and we could not have imagined anything better. It is absolutely beautiful in the mornings to wake up to the sea breaking on the rocks and the sun coming over the mountains. We had an unbelievable time and are looking forward to our next visit to Maui. Thanks for helping us having a unforgetable time.

Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful condo and helping us make arrangements for our wedding. We literally stepped outside the lanai and down the steps for our ceremony and everything was absolutely perfect! We loved sitting with family and friends, BBQs and watching the sunsets. This trip hs been serene and surreal. Thank you for making it possible.

What a lovely spot! The ocean view from the condo is amazing and the condo is beautiful as well. You are just steps away from the surf. I would recommend this place and the wonderful owners (who are very attentive to their guests needs) to anyone! You'll want to come back year after year!

Kathy and Jim, Waht a beautiful spot you have here! We keep saying how lucky we were to have found your place! We've been enjoying watching sunsets and drinking Mai Tai's from the lanai. Our daughter Ella (13 months) is enjoying having her na-na (food) and watching the birds from the lanai. We're here celebrating our 5th Anniversay (Sept 21) and it's been a wonderful trip! We'll definitely be coming back someday and telling our friends and family about your beautiful place.

We enjoyed a lovely 4 days in #408, with the promised lovely sunsets, palm trees swaying, catamarans passing, and ocean waves crashing! A lovely, newly renovated condo, with all the conveniences, and owners who CARE! Recommendations: Paragon-Air flight to Molokai to visit Fr. Damien's former leper colony (87-year old Catherine loved it!) and "Ulalena" in Lahaina, a stunning version of a Cirque du Soleil-type performance on the creation of Hawaii! Have fun!
Owner response:(Kathy - please add this last comment into my Guest Comments - I forgot!!) Other positives: - the arrangement at arrival (our Parking Pass was posted on the window as it was after 17H00) and the parking area were great. - The location is terrific - sunsets and close to the BBQ, which never bothered us at all. - THANKS for the recommendation of the Deli! It was a life-saver the first night and the food is excellent!
