Please visit our website (links below) for photos and more information! Chesapeake Point is an 'Over 55' Member-Owned Cooperative Mobile Home Park located in Tarpon Springs, Florida. It is situated on a beautiful 6.5 acre peninsula surrounded on three sides by the 'Bayou' which leads to the Gulf of Mexico. We are right in the heart of Tarpon Springs and feel that our lovely Park offers the best seasonal rental location in the area. The Park is peaceful and secluded, yet there is quick access to Howard and Sunset Parks and world renowned Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands are just an 8 mile drive away. We are also close to lots of great restaurants right in Tarpon Springs and the nearby quaint town of Dunedin. Highway 19 is a busy road just a few miles away where you can do all of your grocery shopping at Publix, hit the local Starbucks or have lunch at Panera and use their free wireless access. Please note only Unit #45 is pet friendly.

Chesapeake Point Park is in many ways truly a park. There is abundant birdlife here and the fishing is excellent. Standing on the seawall on the sunrise side in the morning, we see a number of different species of fish cruise by including sheephead, jacks, snook, trout and plenty of mullet jumping. Each year we have Herons nesting at the top of a tall pine tree with full grown adult birds flying in to feed noisy babies and this year we also have two Osprey nests in the Park as well. Folks often report manatee moving lazily by and dolphin herding schools of fish against the seawall to feed. Less than a mile and a half away is Howard Park and Sunset Beach. Both are superb beaches for fishing, walking, sunbathing, swimming and just about any outdoor activity on the water including windsurfing and kayaking.

Chesapeake Point Park is in our opinion the West Coast's best kept secret. At dusk, you can see hundreds of birds fly in to roost for the night on the surrounding mangrove islands. We never get tired of watching this nightly event. Almost everyday we can see dolphin feeding along the seawall and manatee swimming during the Winter season especially on the 'sunrise' side of the Park. As a result, most of our guests seem to prefer setting up their lounge chairs at the edge of the seawall and spending the day sunbathing, reading, fishing and relaxing! The fishing is great in our Park and previous guests have enjoyed fishing daily off of the seawall. If you are handy with a cast net, tasty mullet are an easy catch. I have seen one of our residents routinely catching mullet off of the seawall at high tide which he says he smokes in a simple smoker he purchased around the corner at the hardware store. Dolphins also regularly fish around Chesapeake Point and we have seen them playfully swimming upside down at high speed just under the water's surface along the seawall and then watched them chase mullet towards the seawall and catch and eat them!

PLEASE be sure to visit the links below to our website for more information! Scroll slowly down the page and click on the following links: -CLICK HERE for Area Information!- -CLICK HERE -Rental Information & Photos. Please call us if you might also be interested in buying into our Park! A typical unit sells between 75-120K and monthly Coop fees are reasonable as are real estate property taxes. We have finished installing boat slips for each unit and the Park is now dog friendly (20lb limit). We feel we are a great vacation AND retirement option and that our quality of life just continues to improve!

                          Owner info

About the owner: Thank you for looking at our listing and visiting our website listed above. Just so you know, we abide by all City, County and State laws regarding rentals. Since we rent seasonally for less than 6 months at a time, we must charge a 7% Florida Sales and Use tax and a 5% Pinellas County resort tax. These taxes we collect are turned directly over to the proper agency every month. We are also required by the City of Tarpon Springs to rent mobile homes for no less than 2 months. If you are a potential guest, please consider that we are not in the business of turning a profit on our rentals. We are simply trying to supplement the yearly cost of owning them (so we can enjoy them too!) and are not willing to break the law. We feel that our honesty is rewarded by the fact that we always end up with guests of like mind and always have guest or two who return every year.

Why the Owner Chose Tarpon Springs:
Feel free to contact us from the phone number on the website if you are also interested in buying into our Member-Owned Cooperative! Many of our Members (ourselves included) feel that our Park represents an affordable vacation AND retirement option and is one of the areas best kept waterfront living secrets. Prices on average range from 75-110K to purchase a unit and monthly coop fees are reasonable as are the real estate property taxes (and some owners will even finance a purchase). Many of our Members have lived here year-round and seasonally for many years and we are a friendly community of folks who believe our peninsula is our own little slice of paradise. We just finished installing new boat slips and our membership recently approved ownership of dogs in the Park. Our quality of life here continues to improve!
