We spent a wonderful 4 days there in March. We originally planned to go fishing but it was two windy. No matter. The town was rustic but lovely. Great down-home Mexican food. Wonderful fresh seafood. Friendly people. The house was just outrageus with beautiful ocean views. Squeeky clean and well equiped. The owner lives two doors down and was most gracious. Great communication and easy transaction. Looking forward to going back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much for coming and thanks for leaving the home so clean and neat, sorry about the windy conditions. Please come again.

What a wonderful week we spent here! My boyfriend and I drove down with our dogs from Southern California and couldn't have been happier with everything. Al and Jan are wonderful hosts and the house has everything you could possibly need. The local markets are fun, the view is incredible (watch for dolphins!) and the pictures are good but don't really do this gem justice. We can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

We (early 70s) scheduled a short family getaway with two of our children (mid 40s) at Casa Harris. Our only disappointment was that we hadn't planned a longer stay. The location and accommodations more than lived up to their billing, and we definitely plan on returning. We live in San Diego and our daughter lives in Santa Barbara so we are not easily awed by salt water destinations. Our hosts were congenial and helpful, but never intrusive. We had great fun following the sightseeing suggestions. Although we didn't try the local restaurants, we did discover a nice little bakery (Seraphins's) tucked away in a residential area of town. We also had our fill of oysters shucked at the water's edge by a second generation oyster man and his two tween-age sons--the 4 of us for under US$10. Even the trip down and back was fun. Crossed at San Ysidro at 8:00 a.m. Saturday with minimum delay and enjoyed the outstanding toll road views down to Ensenada. Returned on highway 3 via the Guadalupe Valley wine country. We're saving the winery tours for next time, but had great scenery all the way to Tecate where it took us just 12 minutes to cross back into the US (4 p.m. Tuesday). A wonderful experience. The photos don't do Casa Harris justice. The living area is actually much larger than it appears and those wonderful plate glass windows were sparkling clean.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Our family of 6 adults just returned to the colder parts of the USA after a week at Jan and Al's in Costa Brava. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and clean, the view of the ocean from ceiling to floor windows is spectacular, as were the sunsets. A virtually private beach just a few steps below the house provided many hours of activities, even in late December. The water was a bit too cold for me this time of the year, but the younger members of our family swam and body surfed a bit. Two fellows from a few doors down surfed daily with wetsuits. All of us spent hours on the beach walking, fishing, birding, exploring tide pools, and just watching the sea. Jan and Al were gracious hosts, and keep the house up very nicely. Our three families met in LA and drove a rental car down with absolutely no problems at any time. We shopped for groceries in nearby San Quentin, and ate fresh seafood and salsa daily. This is a great private safe place to stay on the beach in Mexico. Thanks Jan and Al!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Casa Harris is equipped way beyond the usual rental house and looks out upon a spectacular view of the Pacific. It is THE place to come for the overworked & overstressed! We haven't gotten the knack of clamming but did get some nice ocean perch surf fishing. We made delicious clam chowder and fish tacos from the local clams & fish purchased from "the fish man" who parks his truck at the local mercado. We can't thank Jan & Al enough for sharing this little piece of calm and beauty with us & for being so hospitable & helpful ! Blessings, Karen & PaulDid you find this review helpful? Great ,comfortable home, Striking view of the beach and Pacific Ocean as far as you can see. Costa Brava is a quiet ,safe community. We were 2 couples with children and dogs, safe for all. The sandy beach was heaven for the kids and dogs, they played until they were ready to drop. Especially nice was the offstreet parking. (fenced) and the privacy of having a separate suite for our friends ( no extra chg). Highly recomend this place for anyone looking to get away to Baja. Thank You Al & Jan for your hospitality, Larry and CindyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
