If you are looking for total peace and quiet in charming, comfortable and unassuming surroundings, you will feel very much at home at the Quinta dos Moinhos Velhos.
The Quinta was bought by our grandparents in the 1960s and has been a haven of tranquillity and serenity ever since. Set on a hill, overlooking the forest of the Serra de Sintra (once owned by the King of Portugal), it offers a lovely main house, two transformed outbuildings and a charming garden.
The main house has a charming bedroom, with French doors opening into the garden. The kitchen connects the cozy dining room with the comfortable living room. Both the dining room and the living room have wood burning fireplaces. The main house offers 2 bathrooms. Its lovely spacious terrace makes outdoor dining a truly pleasurable experience.
The first outbuilding, called Central, is set in the middle of the garden, amidst smart little lemon and tangerine trees. It has a cozy bedroom with adjacent bathroom. The second outbuilding, called Mini Casa, is set on the outer limit of the property next to the gate. It too has a charming bedroom and bathroom as well as a small kitchen area.
All houses are located conveniently close to each other, yet they also offer privacy to their inhabitants.
While the Quinta is very peaceful and quiet, it is only a 10 min. drive to the spectacularly set beach Praia da Adraga. Praia das Macas and Praia Grande are 15 min drive. The area also boasts challenging golf courses, 5 of which are a mere 30 min drive away. And if you would rather visit a town, historic Sintra and bustling Cascais are both a 20 min drive. Seaside resort Estoril; adjacent to Cascais - offers a lively and diverse boardwalk and thrilling Casino. Lisbon and its international airport can easily be reached within the hour.
To sum it up: the Quinta offers beauty, charm and serenity within a comfortable vicinity of any activity you would like to venture upon.
