I especially loved the fireplace and how we enjoyed each others' company around it. It was surreal. It was also the first time the kids saw a squirrel and it greeted us every morning. We wanted to thank you for the wonderful time we had at your house on Toad Lake. We spent a great deal of time swimming, kayaking, and enjoying the lake. We saw a bald eagle during the day and the Milky Way at night. The house was so well prepared. It had everything one could possibly need (such as life preservers for kids). We didn't get an opportunity to leave a note in the guest book, but wanted to let you know we enjoyed it.

Beautiful cabin. We truly enjoyed staying here for the week. Amazing view and landscape. A perfect getaway from the big cities of California. As the days went on we got better and better at making a fire. Another week and we would have had it down! Thank you very much for your hospitality. We went "home" each night because it truly felt like a home and not a temporary stay. Tthe banada bread was delicious! We appreciate all you have done!! Thank you very much! Jenn and Denise

My husband and I stayed for 15 nights in the apartment in October 2010. We loved Emerald Lake and Bellingham in general. The views are much more impressive than in the photos. And we enjoyed doing business with the owner. The apartment is comfy and cozy, secluded yet close to all conveniences. Highly recommend Chuckanut drive, scenic drive to Mt. Baker, Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC, Lake Padden, ferry to San Juan Islands, Boulevard Park, Bellingham Farmer's Market, Whatcom Falls Park and relaxing at this apartment. Autumn is a great time to visit! Thanks Rosetta!

This was a beautiful property. The location was as described and the photos reflect the appearance and amenities, although a photo can't do justice to the real beauty of the surroundings! The property was clean and well-maintaned. There were lots of "extras" that really made us feel at home. The owner was extremely gracious, knowledgeable, and helpful. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would recommend this property!

What a sweet surprise to have ice cream and strawberries waiting for us upon our arrival. The house was comfortable and quiet. Very relaxing. Would definitely stay again.

We had an absolutly wonderful stay at The Emerald Lake Chalet. The accomodations in both the chalet and the apartment were beyond compare, and we will always remember it as the place we first met our new grandson! Thank you so much...we will be back!

"We had a wonderful vacation at your lake house, enjoying the house itself, the lake, and our family. We had everything we needed and also enjoyed cooking meals together there. It was so nice to be just 10 minutes from our family and be in such a beautiful setting. We barbequed on the deck, watched bald eagles hunting, enjoyed fishermen catching trout, and were a few feet away from the tamest deer we have ever experienced, including a mother deer and her fawn. We very much enjoyed our stay at Rosetta's chalet. It was very clean and quiet! The beds were very comfortable, and everything you need is there to relax or entertain. You aren't aware of any neighbors either. We have already booked a return stay!

My husband, daughter and I stayed at the chalet for our first visit to Bellingham (and Washington State) and it was perfect! The home is stocked with everything you need and was well suited for even our 18 month old daughter with a few toys, books and even a highchair. I highly recommend staying here for any visit to the area, you will feel just like you are in your own home--all due to Rosetta's personal touch and care which is evident throughout the home.

Wonderful place to stay. It has everything one would want in a vacation home. It is peaceful, clean, nicely furnished, great view of the lake, safe for the kids (no motorboats), and close to Bellingham and Canada. We have visited two years in a row and plan to come back agian next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lake. It helped make the week before my daughter's wedding a very relaxing and memorable time. Rosetta thought of everything we could possibly need and it was like a home away from home. I highly recommend this property, it's a country setting, close to the city. The stairs to the front door kept us in great shape for the wedding pictures!!!

Thanks for renting us the house on the lake. Boys and I certainly enjoyed using the peddle boat and canoe. Doug said this is the best rental we've ever found. Very private yet convenient to shops and scenic tours. Managed to get in the water yesterday and temperature was fine.

We enjoyed the cabin so much! Weather was beautiful, even though the lake was COLD, it was still fun to swim in. I'm sure it would be amazing in the summer, when the entire day could be spent out on the lake. The cabin was spacious and comfortable for our family of five. A short trip to Fairhaven for ice cream was the perfect cap to our weekend getaway.
