The Lodge at Griddle Cake Lake!
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Old craftsman style timber-framed lodge with luxurious, new amenities. Open great room with clerestory and lots of french doors and windows that overlook a very scenic lake ideal for activities: sea kayaking (provided upon request), fishing, swimming, snorkeling, ice skating, cross country skiing, ice fishing or broom hockey. Lake frontage - 50 feet from the lake.
Large family-style dining room adjacent to a gourmet kitchen with a Wolf range, two ovens and a Liebherr fridge; granite, soapstone, butcher block, and stainless countertops. A very large island for extra seating or spectator cooking. This kitchen is made for serving up gourmet meals to a crowd.
The covered front entryway is timber-framed, as is the very large back wrap-around, covered porch that overlooks the lake. A wood cookstove on the back porch lends a bit of warmth or hot water for tea or coffee on chilly evenings. Wonderful flower, herb & vegetable gardens, as well as a hammock for quiet contemplation and relaxing.
The master suite features a high ceiling, french doors overlooking the garden, and a spacious shower with steam room. Another bath has a large jetted soaking tub with heater. A third bathroom adjoins the upstairs bedrooms, one with a nice view of the lake. The loft seating area overlooks the large great room and clerestory - a perfect 'tree house setting' for additional kid sleeping.

Year Purchased: 2001
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
I am a very active outdoors person, so northwestern Montana is the perfect spot for me: skiing, backpacking, sea kayaking, hiking, climbing, etc. I know Glacier National Park very well, so if you have questions on where to go or what to do, please ask!
The Unique Benefits at this Lodge:
Quiet and peaceful... except of course for the red necked grebes, coyotes, sandhill cranes, Canadian Geese and the resident rooster. The very large wrap around covered porch overlooking the lake is the perfect place to swing in the hammock, read a book or just relax enjoying the view. Or, for an active day try sea kayaking (while fishing for pike?) swimming, snorkeling or mountain biking on the many trails just outside the door.
Glacier Park is only 40 minutes away, but hurry. The glaciers are forecasted to be gone by 2020. Glacier is a wonderful destination for hikes, picnics, boat rides, backpacking and wildlife viewing.
