Crystal clear water and mountain panoramas await you at our Lake Dunmore summer house. Situated on the border of the Green Mountain National Forest, it’s the perfect place for fishing, boating, hiking, mountain biking, or just relaxing and soaking up the view. While we do not have a sandy beach, swimming off the end of our private dock is easy.
The house is a 1930s vintage camp that has had extensive renovations. It is fully winterized and has a modern kitchen, bath and laundry.
Lake Dunmore is a pristine, spring-fed lake. North Cove, where the house is located, has a 5 MPH speed limit, ensuring calm waters for kayaking among the ducks and geese. Two kayaks are included for your use, and larger boats can be rented at Kampersville or Waterhouse's Marina. Game fish are abundant in Lake Dunmore including rainbow trout, lake trout, landlocked salmon, northern pike and largemouth bass.
There is a general store and deli just a 5 minute walk away. Take a 10 minute drive to historic Middlebury or Brandon and you’ll find fine dining, galleries, summer concerts and museums. You’re also within easy reach of the Ben and Jerry’s Factory in Waterbury, Vermont Teddy Bear in Shelburne, Bromley and Pico Alpine Slides, Quechee Gorge, and several marble quarries.

The view from the deck and the waterfront is amazing. We had a great weeks stay and enjoyed the local scenery and dining in Vermont. We visited during Mid September after the storms of 2011. Vermont has done a respectable job in getting things back to normal. We found most of the area roads were open and enjoyed the Green Mountains area. We also enjoyed the Water fall and covered bridge in Middlebury, once we found a local who could send us in the right direction. If you like to just relax and sun and fish you will enjoy the property.Recommended for: Sightseeing.
