My family thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Boyle Ranch. The cabin is huge. 15 of us fit quite comfortably; each family had their own room. Plenty of snow for the little kids; big kids went up to Sierra Ski around the corner. We brought a Wii and played games in front of the wood burner in the living room. The small store at Strawberry had the provisions we forgot. We're looking forward to a summer visit. Great place to stay! Thanks.

Owner response:Thank you Nancy. We are so happy that you were able to enjoy our cabin and your group is welcome back anytime.

Great place for a big group!

I came up with my husband, my brother and his wife, and several friends. Everyone was comfortable in their own rooms. We got to have some fun with the first snow of the season while we were there. Comfy and affordable. It was a great time.

Owner response:Thank you Lauren, we really appreciate sharing our cabin with your family!

lovely stay

This cabin is very spacious with room for everyone. The creekside location was perfect for outdoor play and relaxation and looked like the best one in the area with a small beach and away from the highway. Just down HWY 50 is a great area to hike, Horsetail Falls. We would recommend it for those who enjoy a rustic, quiet getaway.

very disappointed

The cabin was incredibly dirty. There were mice droppings in the cabinets where the cooking supplies were kept. The air was dusty and the windows were covered in spider webs. The windows lack screens, so you can't open them up without bugs flying in. We couldn't walk around anywhere without shoes (feet turned black from the dirt). The furniture was generally in disrepair. I would not recommend renting here.

Owner response:We are very sorry that this guest was dissapointed in our wonderful, Rustic and very charming cabin....we have had many wonderful reviews of the cabin including the guests that moved in the afternoon after this guest left. They called us to say that they loved the cabin and setting and could they rent another night. Many of our guests come year after year to stay. We have had the same property manager for years, that cleans the cabin and checks it between every guest. Most of our living room furniture and most of the bedrooms have new furniture within the last year. We also have new carpeting upstairs. I am sorry that this guest choose to bring up some items that just aren't true and not bring up so many of the positives. We will have to suggest for this guest that there is an Embasy Suites that usually has rooms, that might be more suited for what they are looking for

I have to say this was our first time going to a cabin experience and it the best trip ever, everything that was listed on their web page is accurate and more, we went with two other families and their children and let me say Sierra at Tahoe is about a mile away and we did not even want to go there. The Boyle's cabin had more snow than we wished for, plus a cozy living room with a large variety of movies and board games, we just rather play games, watch movies and play in the snow by day.everyone loved the nice clean and very warm cabin. We have made a commitment to go there every year and enjoy a wonderful cabin, you will not be disappointed at all especially your children at the end it's all about them. Thanks so much to the Boyle's for being so helpful and for making this trip unforgettable.

WE ENJOYED AN EXTENDED HOLIDAY STAY AT THE BOYLE LODGE. VERY CONVENIENT FOR MULTIPLE GENERATIONS OF A FAMILY. THE LITTLE ONES LOVED THE "LAKE" IN THE BACKYARD. THE PARENTS APPRECIATED THAT THE RIVER IS MEANDERING AND SAFE FOR THEM TO PLAY IN. GRANDPARENTS LOVED SWINGING IN THE HAMMOCK WITH BABY. GREAT HOME BASE TO RETURN TO AFTER A DAY AT CAMP RICHARDSON. WE ARE ALREADY TALKING OF NEXT SUMMERS STAY.

The Boyle River Lodge was everything we were looking for our winter vaca. The home is more than a cabin, very spacious and comfortable. Our kids loved how close Sierra At Tahoe was,and we the parents loved the snow play versatility. We have used VRBO frequently, and the Boyle's have been the most professional owners we have rented from. Dont hesitate staying here, ( as long as its not when were re-booking, j.k.) You will love this place The Noceti's

My husband and I and our 7 year old stayed with 2 other families with children in February 2008. It was a wonderful cabin for winter snow play. The backyard was big enough for the children to make a snow fort and have plenty of time for snow play. We had a winter storm the weekend we stayed but we felt very secure with the warm fireplace, and heater worked fine throughout the lodge. Plenty of board games and videos stocked in the lodge to keep us all occupied. We are planning a return trip winter 2009. Looking forward to making more great memories.

We had a wonderful time at your cabin. The large house easily accomodated 2 large families plus our dog. We hiked and swam at Horsetail Falls, Echo Lake, Angora Lakes and they were all easily accessible. We were blessed with terrific weather. The only regret is a lack of space to dine outdoors, but since you're fixing the deck, hopefully that'll happen now.

Owner response:YES, we are replacing the old deck with NEW!! However, you can also walk to the river right in the backyard and eat at the table and chairs there....it is wonderful dining by the river and totally private.

We stayed at the cabin on the lake for a climbing trip to Lover's Leap. It was a delightfully decorated, clean and warm place not 5 minutes from our climbing routes. The living room is charming and we enjoyed the video and game collections. It slept 14 comfortably and when we spaced out our showers we all got hot water. The kitchen is spacious and had everything we needed to make all our meals. Too bad it was snowy, the hammock and chair set out back was pretty comfy and had a nice view of the river.

We had a GREAT time! Mostly we just lounged around the river and house. Your house is definitely the nicest place in the neighborhood. I loved the back yard and river. And the layout of the house works really well. We had 5 adults and 2 teenagers and there was plenty of privacy but also plenty of together time. There was some really nice hiking very close by. Our favorite was a hike up to Horsetail Falls along Pyramid Creek. We could definitely see ourselves going back again. I've already told lots of friends about how great the place was and what fun we had. Good luck with the cabin and thanks.

We were pleased in every way with the cabin. We used all 5 bedrooms and appreciated the privacy for each of our adult children and their children. The fireplace in the living room was nice in the morning and evening, even in July, as well as the gas stove in the kitchen. The cabin is on the river, a pleasant place to rest at the table, in one of the many lounging chairs or in one of the hammocks. Even fish to catch as well as squirrels, chipmunks, bluejays and woodpeckers to watch. Games to play, videos to watch and MOST IMPORTANTLY, no TV. Wonderful!

Owner response:Thank you, there is TV, just no cable, but lots of movies!

We had a great stay at the Boyle house. We were 4 adults, 2 infants (11 mo's) and 2 toddlers (2.75 yrs). They were able to navigate around the house without incident. We had all the amenities of home (even king beds) and the fire heated living space gave our trip a great rustic feel. We toboganed right outside the house, so we didn't have to go far for fun in the snow. We'll be back. Thanks Barbi and Mike.

4 adults and 4 kids spent Labor Day at this cabin and had a blast! The seating outside by the creek was idyllic, with birds chirping, squirrels running by, and the water. The inside of the cabin is roomy and very cute, with more than enough room for all of us! Well worth the money, we want to return this winter!

We all had a great time at your cabin. Our group of eight ranged from 80 (grandpa) to 8 months (youngest grandson) -- and everyone seemed comfortable. What's more, your cabin is one of the most well-appointed (brooms, mops, cutlerly, etc.) we have ever rented.

We stayed at the Boyle Cabin in March 2006 and had an incredible time. Everything was perfect. Our kids had a blast sledding right out the front door. We were extremely comfortable and all the necessary ammeneties were there for us to enjoy. My daughter already wants to know "when we are going back to our snow house". We definetely will return.

This is a gorgeous cabin... The view out to the creek and the snow-covered pine forest is simply incredible! The chalet is spacious but cozy. It is virtually next door to Sierra at Tahoe. Warming up by the real wood fire after a day on the slopes feels just great! We had a great time at this cabin... we highly recommend it and will stay here again.
