Relaxing and Just What We Needed!

Just wanted to tell you what a marvelous relaxing time we had! It rained almost the whole time which was perfect, because it gave us an excuse to be lazy! We sat on the porch for hours enjoying the sound of the rain, drinking good wine and catching up on old times. The view truly is amazing! We sat by the fire every night, making s'mores and enjoying the company! It was perfect for the dogs who could wander without fear of cars and passers-by! It was just an amazing few days and we look forward to coming again soon! Thank you for sharing your little peace of heaven, deep in the mountains of Long Ridge. And I very much appreciated the view of the valley and Sugarloaf Mountain in the distance! Will book again soon I am sure...For those reading this review, great places to eat include The Purple Onion in Saluda, Hannah Flanagan's in Hendersonville, The Wrinkled Egg in Flat Rock. Great places to shop include all the Main Streets of each little town in the area, Needful Things (get lost in 1000's of square feet of antiques and knick knacks), and the Saluda Wine and Cheese Shop. Great places to hike include the area around the cabin, Pearson's Falls, and Mt. Mitchell. The lists could go on and on!

My friends and I discovered this cabin back in 2007. We made a decision at that point to always return to the cabin the same time each year. 2011 was our 4th visit to the cabin and it was just as enjoyable as the first time we went back in 2007. My wife, 3 month old son and I had an awesome time at this house! The house is very secluded which is great. But you are close to Saluda so you can get out when you need to. The view is spectacular and there is so much to do around that area. And the house has everything the listing says it does. It is a great cabin and I strongly recommend this house for your next mountain vacation!

We had two couples, 3 children, and a dog and this was the perfect arrangement for us. The cabin was SUPER clean, well equiped, and the perfect spot to ring in the new year! We enjoyed roasting marshmellows in the fire pit and doing sparklers on the back deck. The view was wonderful, too! We will be back!

Our family has twice visited this cabin in winter and enjoyed both stays. The cabin is well-appointed and clean, and very pretty. The fire pit is a great evening gathering spot and you can't beat the view. The owners are nice and responsive if there is an issue. Be advised that the driveway may require 4WD in wet weather. But the reasonable price and overall positive experience keep us coming back :-)

A friend and I just spent 5 days at The Blackberry with my two dogs. Everyone loved it, including the pups who now think they're mountain dogs! The view was inspiring and my favorite part of the day was early morning, sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee, dogs laying at my feet, watching the sun come up and light up the view. The cabin is very secluded. We didn't see another soul unless we went to town. Saluda is a charming town, complete with a general store. I hope to return next year. It's just what the doctor ordered! Perfect Moutain Home

We had such a great time. The property was everything that we hoped for and more. The views are worth a million dollars. We hiked everyday and had relaxing evenings on the porch swing overlooking the mountains. We would love to return again and again to this amazing home.

Much needed retreat

The cabin is perfect for the setting. The view is truly awe-inspiring, and the size and shape of the property give a feeling of complete isolation. We spent the majority of our time on the front porch or at the fire pit. Watching a storm roll into the valley was great. We took a hike to the river and scouted some great fishing spots. The cabin is a perfect size for the property, and is well maintained.

I found the Blackberry about 4 years ago and my extended family and I have gone to relax and have a great time every year since then. I have the cabin and views on my screen saver at work too. My children and now grandchild will be returning every year and now they want to stay a whole week! The cabin is beautiful and the view is what I call " A little piece of Gods country"

Hi Everyone, My husband and I stayed in the cabin a few days after Christmas. The weather was perfect and being from Florida, I loved seeing all the beautiful snow. The cabin is absolutley perfect for a romantic getaway or a family get-together. There is complete privacy and the view is one of the best I've seen in NC. There are many activies in the area, even in winter. The road leading to the cabin and the driveway itself was an adventure all in one. We will definitely be back soon! Thanks for making us feel at home.
