  We had a lovely stay at The Blackberry. The view is beautiful and sleeping there at night was so peaceful - no sounds except for the birds and the Green River. It's a nice hike down the road to the creek and the town of Saluda is close by for dining and playing. Our 4 year old enjoyed spotting woodpeckers and throwing stones in the creek. Make sure to bring bug spray as the bees were out in abundance.

  My wife, another couple and I had a wonderful time at the Blackberry over the President's Day holiday weekend. It was cold & the weather forecast called for snow. It seemed to snow all around us but we only had flurries. Thank you so much for making the cabin available to us. It is a fantastic place to be able to just get away from it all. The only way it could have been any better is if there was a fireplace.

  We spent a very special week-end with our grown children and my Mother. The home could not be cozier or have more beautiful views. What a wondeful way to spend the holiday-thanks to the owners for sharing this piece of heaven!

  As usual the cabin was an excellent choice! This was our 5th year in a row visiting "The Blackberry" The views were spectacular and a slight change from our usual visiting time of late summer (August). We committed again to revisit in 2013!

  We really enjoyed our 3 day stay in "The Blackberry" cabin. The highlight of our stay was the views from the porch. The cabin is comfortable, well-appointed and a great place to relax and "decompress" from our hectic work schedules. Our only complaint was that our stay wasn't long enough but we hope to go back . . . next time for a longer stay. Perfect location with neat small towns nearby like Saluda, Hendersonville, Flat Top - not to mention Asheville only a 40 minute drive up. We took a trip to Sky-Top Apple Orchard in Flat Top and bought a 1/2 bushel of Cameo apples and a jar of apple butter. We didn't get an chance to go see Pearson Falls on this trip . . . but plan to take a trip there next time. If you're looking for a peaceful, quiet place to relax, this is a good choice.

  My husband rented this cabin for us, to celebrate my 64th birthday. He did good, and Mr Atchly and his wife were so nice to give us two extra days. The view is to die for and the cabin is so secluded and peaceful. We loved it and hope to go again. The road to get to the cabin is interesting amny many turns, but well worth it, Thanks again for sharing your lovely home with us. The Evans

  It may seem a bit strange that my husband I rented a vacation cabin just 28 miles from our house. But after a tiring and stressful summer, we needed some quiet time away from home. I found "The Blackberry" on VRBO and after reading about the cabin, viewing the pictures and reading the reviews, we had to go. The driveway is "interesting" as one reviewer said and I'm glad we had our 4wheel drive truck since it had been raining...but when we reached the top of the mountain and saw the cabin, we knew we had found the right place. This cabin is absolute perfection. Extremely clean, comfortable, well-decorated and with views from the porch that kept us out taking pictures constantly. The peace we felt there was wonderful and we will definitely be returning as often as possible. Everything we needed was supplied and there were extra touches around the house that gave it a very special warm feeling. You are close to Saluda where we went for breakfast on two mornings, yet when we returned to the cabin, we felt a million miles away from civilization. Thank you for such a great experience. It was just what we needed!!

  I spent 1 week at the cabin with my dogs and enjoyed it tremendously. It is very private ... love the 1/2 mile long driveway, and terrific for the dogs. They could run & play without worrying about traffic. The house is nice and cosy with a terrific view of the gorge! Couldn't recommend a better place.

  The drive from the interstate to the cabin was "interesting" - watch out for the young Kayakers headed to the river! But once we got there, it was well worth the drive! Breath taking views which constantly changes by the hour. The house was fabulous - the kitchen has been updated since the photo was taken. Love the cabinets and counters. Loved the firepit! so remote but Saluda is so close by and you get what you need down there. We loved Saluda! thank you
