Nice house for families

We rented this house for late July 2008. We had 6 small children (two of them babies) and 6 adults and it was great for each family to have some privacy. Sounds did not carry. Lots of balconies and great views from inside and outside the house. The house was well stocked. It was a close walk to the beach. Pool and hot tub were used a lot. Computer didn't work and a new one was sent out the next day after I called tech support. Vaccuum didn't work and again, fast response from Hatteras Realty company and we received a loaner vaccuum the same day. Lots of board games and puzzles, but no PS games and none at the local rental store. We'd go there again. Thoroughly enjoyed the week. Thanks Hatteras Realty and Norm!
Owner response:Thanks for the terrific and fair review. Just a couple of notes on a few specific items that you mentioned: 1. The vacuum has been replaced, not sure what happened to the old one. 2. We have many PS-2 games in the house (not sure why you didn't find them unless you meant PS-3 games) and more are available for free rental at Village Video. There are also a couple of PS-3 games (one was added this week). 3. I was there last week with my family and added two more new aluminum bikes. We had a great time - and the kids had an even better time! Hope that you will return next year. norman

Everything in the house was perfect! I booked this vacation for my family and two other families and the house made me look like a hero. It had a great location with plenty of space for the 6 adults and 5 teenagers. The beach is a short walk and the house is on a cul-de-sac so a nice place to ride bikes also.The kitchen was well stocked with all the appliances and utensils you need to cook a gourmet meal. There are no good restaurants in Hatters but hey with the big kitchen and the grill we ate very well and had a great time. We will definitely be back next year God willing.
Owner response:Thanks for much for the great review - we do try hard to give more than promised. All new dishware added to the kitchen the week after you left. There are actually some pretty good restaurants (maybe not gourmet ones though) including Breakwater and Dinkey's in Hatteras and Roccos for pizza & subs. Outriggers is just about to open. Rusty's in Buxton we liked. In Avon, La Foggata, Dirty Dick's, Mad Crabber and more. Some of these may not have been open when you were there in April; things do pick up as the season goes on. Thanks again!

We recently rented this house for a reunion with college friends. The house had plenty of space for our group (9 adults) and it was nicely decorated and furnished. The kitchen was very well-stocked. Our only complaint was that the hot tub did not work the entire week. We called the realty office several times and a repair person came by but was never able to fix the problems. Other than that, the location was good for us - it was a very short walk to the beach, short drive to Ocrakoke Ferry, and within about an hour of other attractions such as Jockey's Ridge and Kitty Hawk.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
