The 120 year-old stone Provençal house is located four kilometers from the market town of Apt and a 10-miute walk from the village of Gargas which has a bakery, grocery shop, post-office, pharmacy, restaurant and newsagents shop. The house is about 43 km from Avignon, 75 km from Marseille and ideally located to explore some of the many charming hilltop villages in the Luberon region of Provence.
Set well back from the road and facing south and west with lovely views on the Luberon Mountains, the house has been sensitively modernized and offers spacious interconnected living and dining room with terracotta floors and exposed tree trunk beams that make it cosy, intimate and charming. These rooms and the kitchen have large doors opening onto a terrace where life is mostly lived in the summer and where a shady spot can always be found because of the old trees in the garden. With its thick walls, the house is cool in summer and warm and comfortable in the cooler seasons.
