Villa of the Blue Sunflower is a near new two-story villa located in the gated community of Playacar adjacent to beautiful Playa del Carmen. In immaculate condition, from the marble countertops to the wonderful pool this can be your tastefully decorated home away from home!
Upon entering the curved Mexican style door you will find the umbrella stand complete with beach towels and umbrellas, a fully-equipped kitchen, laundry room, step down living room, bathroom, and a bedroom with queen-size bed. Step through the sliding glass doors in either the living room or the bedroom to access the beautiful shared yard, pool, palapas, and barbecue area. On the second floor you will find the master suite with a king bed, private bath with jacuzzi tub and shower, and private balcony overlooking the pool area. Also on the second floor is a second spacious bedroom with two queen beds and its own private bath.
The house is fully air conditioned with individually remote controlled units in each area and ceiling fans throughout. For your entertainment there is satellite TV (in English ). The living room has a DVD player and a DVD-CD library. The Blue Sunflower is just a short walk (10 minutes) or a couple minute taxi ride to the beach, Playa del Carmen's famous Fifth Avenue shopping and restaurants, ancient Mayan ruins, an aviary, and Playacar's spectacular 18 hole golf course and spa. Included with our villa rental is the use of our owner's card which allows you to use the beach and facilities of the Reef Club Hotel.

This was our third trip to Playa Del Carmen and we wanted a non all inclusive with the five of us spending quality family time. The trip turned out fantastic thanks to this accomodation - the great complex pool just steps away, comfy lounge chairs and deck chairs, brand new barbeque and all the tools. Inside was clean and very well maintained, enjoyed the mexican decor - beds were very comfortable and lots of towels, hot water etc. Everything you'd need was supplied en masse, very well equiped kitchen (waffle maker was great!). We walked to the grocery store and cabbed back ($5 takes you anywhere and this was easy to find). Enjoyed the walk to la Quinta and the beach - 15 minutes or so and came home feeling like we'd had some exercise - some of us even dropped a few pounds. The owners were extremely helpful in answering my questions beforehand and the management company arrived the next morning to ensure we were all good to go. A couple of days before I arrived I emailed to ask if the stereo had an ipod hookup and one was provided, now that's service. We didn't even have to break out the multitool (not like at the 5* we stayed in last year!) Upon arrival we perused the binder provided with great tips on what to do's and where to eat's. We decided on going to Xplor and a day trip to Cozumel - snorkeling and site-seeing. Other than that walked the beach and happy houred back at the pool (just too much fun with our own group), had our own Iguana hanging with us! Dinners out on fabulous 5th Avenue - so much to choose from - Carlos and Charlies the night we arrived - we were starving and it was close - Mi Peublo, fish special and tortilla soup were fantastic and of course Blue Lobster, PGs Sandbox (had to catch the hockey game - being Canucks and all). HIghly recommend the property, very safe, met some very pleasant neighbors. Thank you for sharing your home with us and contributing to the success of our vacation.

My family and I stayed at the Villa of the Blue Sunflower over Christmas and we had an amazing time. The condo is only a short walk from the great shopping on 5th Avenue and the beach. Also, it was so nice to roll out of bed each morning and to hop in the beautiful pool that is only steps away. I would highly recommend this property.

We spent the last week of January at the Villa of the Blue Sunflower. Immediately upon entering the front door, we felt at home. Everything we needed, plus more, was provided. Being walkers we were delighted that we were within walking distance of beautiful beaches, great shopping, and wonderful restaurants. We enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of our "home away from home", while being close to the excitement of the crowds. It was a great place to stay!
