Our stay in Kiawah was great! The home was clean and well-maintained with resembled the pictures. I had not rented through vrbo before and was extremely happy with the rental process. The owner answered all my questions and was extremely helpful prior to our stay. We loved the beach, the resort pool (the new ones were not open yet) and biking on the beach. The on island transportation amenity that comes with the home was so convenient and enabled us to get around the island easily even though we had a car. I would recommend Kiawah and this house to anyone looking to golf, bike, swim, etc. There are so many activities to keep everyone happy and active!

We thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Kiawah Island and your lovely home. Our family had a great time and you were great to work with! We felt right at home the moment we walked in the front door. Your house is spacious, inviting and nicely decorated. We enjoyed golfing, walking and riding bikes to the beach and quiet times out on the back deck overlooking the golf course. Thank you so much for sharing your home with our family. We now have some great family memories from Kiawah Island. Thanks!

My husband chose this house on VRBO as a surprise to me for my birthday. Our three married children and three grandchildren showed up to help celebrate! Each family had their own bedroom and bathroom. The living area and kitchen were large enough to accommodate all of us as we relaxed and cooked. The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The golfers in the family were delighted with the golf courses! There are also activities to keep everyone else busy-beach, swimming pool, and trails in a beautiful setting. The owners are very accommodating! We would certainly rent this home again if we ever return to Kiawah!

Four generations of our family plus two college students from Indonesia spent two weeks at Christmas at your home. We thouroughly enjoyed our time together, walking on the beach, riding bikes, playing golf, playing games and watching movies. We even decorated a Christmas tree, and Santa came too. Since I live in the local area, we invited friends for Christmas dinner as well. The house is great because my 85 year old mother had a room on the main floor. Others had their private spaces with the basement level bedroom and two more bedrooms on the second floor. There was plenty of space for all including guests. The kitchen was well equiped, and we cooked many meals. Thank you so much for sharing your home. You were wonderful landlords, very kind and easy to work with. We will be back!

The house was the perfect place for 4 golfing couples. The house has plenty of public and private space and the kitchen could hold all of us during our "multiple chef" dinners. The house is beautifully decorated and centrally located; it's not far to any location including Fresh Fields Village. The house has a great view onto both a number of lagoons and a golf course; it's also only a short walk to the beach. The wireless internet was helpful for those of us who either needed to work or refused to give up computer connectivity. The combination of VRBO pricing and the ability to have resort privileges is a great perk. The owners were great to work with. Thank you - we had a lovely time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4th visit to Kiawah and 2nd to your home. There is no where else, I'd rather stay than here. Its spacious, warm, inviting, perfect distance to the beach and great view of the golf course and pond!!! We spotted the gator several times, even heard him growl. I had no idea they made sounds - very cool! Thank you so much for sharing your home with our family. I appreciate all the lovely details that make your house our home for the week. Until next year...

What a great week we had! Love your home...beautifully decorated and the kids enjoyed chasing lizards through the alrge yard. Thank you for having such a "child-friendly" house. The 2 & 3-year olds spent a lot of time in the pint-sized wicker chairs. It was wonderful having such a beautiful view from the deck while I fed the baby every morning. Blessings to you and & your family...

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home. Our family had a great time and enjoyed all that Kiawah had to offer - golf, beach, pool, dining. We loved the layout of the house and had many meals, card playings and family time in the kitchen and family room area. We even had a few alligator sightings in the back pond, much to the delight of our two-year old son. We can't wait to visit again!

We enjoyed the house very much. It was a bad week weather wise(cold and rainy for May) and having the comfortable and nicely furnished house made the stay pleasant. We especially appreciated the baby items(they were like new) available. The fresh flowers were also a very special touch. The Dugans are very nice people to work with and I would highly recommend this house to anyone wanting to stay on Kiawah.

Thank you for letting us stay at your wonderful house. The wather was not the best (coldest day on record one day) but having the beauty of the island, the comfortable home & our loved ones here made it a great time. We really appreciated the baby items. We also enjoyed the children's pictures. Until next time...God bless & keep you.

This vacation rental site was a perfect location for three generations of our family to celebrate a friend's daughter's wedding on the Island the end of April 2009. Very peaceful setting with resident alligator in lagoon and golf course behind the beautifully appointed house. Large deck with plenty of seating and large comfortable bedrooms with bathrooms and spacious closets, as well as large family gathering places. Within short walking distance of ocean and beach and close to bike path. Our best friends have a home on the Island and would love to swap with the owners. We definitely would rent this house again, as we felt it was perfect for our needs and those of our adult children and their children. This home/location personifies the Kiawah Island experience.

It was another spectacular visit to Kiawah. We truly enjoyed your home as ours for the week. The last night was highlighted by watching a bald eagle eat its dinner just across the lake. What a sight! We had three generations of family here and everyone enjoyed themselves. The kids are already trying to plan a return visit for summer. Thanks for your hospitality.

We have enjoyed our week log stay in your beautiful home. It was warm and inviting. Your personal touches ad photos made us feel a sense of connection to you. The view from your kitchen and living room was always changing. We watched a pair of large woodpeckers, and several golfers came through. Kiawah is a beautiful place, and your home a lovely spot to experience all the wonders of the island.

We were three couples that spent 4 nights. We all agreed the home is wonderfully furnished, roomy and very clean, great kitchen - well furnished and large deck. The beds were as comfortable as any my wife and I have ever spent the night in. Having 4 bedrooms each with a private bath was a real bonus. We rented bikes for the entire stay, riding many of the miles of bike trails around the island. The golf courses are amazing, playing the Ocean Course before noon requires walking and a caddie, adding the wind makes for a golfing expierence you won't soon forget. The beach was a short walk, lots of wildlife. A wonderful relaxing stay. Several good restaurants on the island, we had dinner at Jasmine Porch which was very nice, great food. Fresh Fields Market is a must visit. We are ready to go back and this home would be our first choice.

The view of the golf course was great and the location was perfect for us. We rode our bikes to the beach and Night Heron Park. Your house provided the perfect accommodations for our three families. Kiawah was lovely - in addition to the friendly neighborhood alligators - we spotted two young fawns munching your shrubbery, a small shark, an enormous hermit crab and various other slithering things not native to Pennsylvania. Thanks for the well-equipped house - we'll try to visit again next year.

We just returned from spending the week of July 19th at this beautiful property. There were three families in our party, including six adults and two children. This was the perfect space, enabling us to enjoy our vacation together but giving us plenty of privacy when needed. The house is breathtaking, especially the master bath, which is something out of a magazine! We highly recommend renting bikes for your stay on Kiawah - there is nothing like taking a sunrise bike ride on the beach. The beach is approximately a five-minute bike ride from the house and a fifteen-minute walk. Even with small children, it was much easier riding bikes to the beach rather than walking. Dining out is fairly pricey on Kiawah; the house has a beautiful kitchen so we found that it worked well to stock up the kitchen with groceries and eat most of our meals at the house. We highly recommend this wonderful home and thank the owners for their hospitality.

We had a wonderful time at this lovely and well-appointed home. Everything was clean, neat and usable. It was a short bike ride to the water, and the beach chairs at the house saved us from the expense of getting rentals. Our only "surprize" upon arrival was in trying to find the 4th bedroom (it's located downstairs in the basement.) This should probably be mentioned in the property description to prevent further renters from experiencing the panic I did on arrival, when I couldn't locate the 4th bedroom! Our 4th couple was arriving last, and the husband had a bad back, so actually this worked well since he could enter the house through the garage and not have to climb stairs to one of the 2nd floor bedrooms. We enjoyed cooking in the spacious kitchen and barbequing on the large gas grille on 4 of the 7 nights we were there, and it was wonderful to be able to seat 10 people around the dining room table. Also the view from the porch was peaceful, and we had a visitor in the lake every evening (an alligator whom we dubbed "Big Al"). We got some great photos of him, and he was harmless although we didn't venture too close. We'd highly reccommend this property. All 4 couples enjoyed the ability to interact when we wanted, or to retreat to our rooms for some privacy. Sincerely, Ron & Leslie
Owner response:We are so privileged to have had wonderful guests like these make our Kiawah getaway their "home away from home". The layout is ideal for one large family or multiple families to get share our home. Each bedroom has a private bath and is separate from the others (ground level-not basement, main level, and upper level), rather than all being down one central hallway. This truly allows you to enjoy the spacious common areas while also escaping to the privacy of your own bedroom and adjacent bath. We hope to add your comments to our guestbook too!
