-15 Minutes north of Hilo, where you can experience the fantastic Hilo Farmer's Market, see a movie, snorkel and have a picnic at Richardson's Ocean Park, visit the Pacific Tsunami Museum, learn about Hawaiian geology and culture at the Lyman Museum, and view the stunning Rainbow Falls.

-1 hour to the world's most active volcano, at Kilauea National Park.
-A short 45 minute drive takes you exploring in the Puna district, where you may find black sand beaches, volcanically heated warm ponds, natural steam vents, and for the more adventurous, lava flowing in to the ocean.
-Go from the tropical seas to the snowy summit of Mauna Kea in about 2 hours, and on your way back down, stop for abreathtaking stargazing experience at the Onizuka Center for International Astronomy. |
