The house you will be staying in is beautifully situated on the Owl Preserve between two golf courses. This lovely designer home has tiled floors, vaulted ceiling, new furnishings - you will feel at home here. You can watch satellite TV on two high-def televisions plus DVD or VCR movies. Bring your laptop for easy connection to our Wi-fi network. Each morning pick up The Villages Daily Sun in your driveway.
For the convenience of any guests, the second bedroom area has a sliding door which gives full privacy to this side of the house. The kitchen is fully stocked with all utensils and dinnerware for dining at home.
From the lanai, you have a beautiful view of the Owl Preserve and the first hole of the Lakes course beyond. The preserve was designed specifically to harbor the burrowing owl. But there are plenty of other inhabitants, the burrowing gopher tortoise, sandhill cranes and myriad waterfowl that you might see crawling, flying or walking about. A bald eagle often eats a meal on a perch in the preserve. Relax on our lanai, pour a glass of your favorite beverage and relax in your comfortable chair in complete privacy. Look to your left and you will see, hanging over your backyard, Florida's finest - grapefruit and oranges. This is the good life!
Relax, but not for long. When the sun gets low in The Villages, the golf carts start streaming home from the courses and The Villages comes alive. Your wife is ready for dancing. The live bands start their evening gigs at 5 in both town squares. So take your choice. Spanish Springs square is only a mile from your front door and Morse Blvd with its wide multi-modal trails only 6 doors away. Your electric golf cart (provided) should be charged and ready. Don't worry about coming home in the dark or the rain. The cart is fully equipped with lights, weather covering and even locked compartments for any valuables.
The town squares are teeming with revelers every night, the outdoor dance pavilion rocking. Grab a beer, cocktail or glass of wine at the outdoor kiosks and join in the fun. When you get hungry, you can choose from dozens of fine restaurants in the square or close by. We especially like Dockside Gators for wings and sports at Spanish Springs and the outdoor bars at Sumter Landing: City Fire at the Flats and Cody's for happy hour.
Of course, the resident-only Katie Belle's is a must for the finest in food, inexpensive drinks and live entertainment beginning at noon everyday. As our guests at the Villages, just present your guest card for admission.
You will no doubt want to play golf while you're visiting and you have plenty to choose from. Ten championship golf courses with names such as Arnold Palmer and Nancy Lopez and 29 executive courses are located in the Villages. Look out the back door to the right and you will see the closest course, and one of our favorites, Hacienda Hills. Chi Chi Rodriguez calls the opening holes on two of the 3 nines his favorites to play. Each of the championship courses has a beautiful clubhouse and recreation facilities, including tennis and swimming. As our guest, your are automatically a member of all 10 country clubs. Enjoy their fine restaurants and bar areas.
There are so many other activities to choose from: both adult and family pools, shuffleboard, boccie, pickleball, tennis, horseshoes, basketball and billiards to name a few. Watch a polo match, play bridge everyday, take dance lessons, try your hand at archery or skeet, or choose from myriad social clubs and recreational activities at one of the Villages' regional recreational centers.
We were initially skeptical of retirement communities, but after one visit we were sold. The Villages is not your parents' retirement community; no one is retired here except from the humdrum of a 9 to 5 work schedule. Welcome to our home at the Villages. You will love it.

Why the Owner Chose Santo Domingo
Nancy discovered The Villages in 2005 when she located a cousin she hadn't seen in 20 years. We were hooked after our first visit and bought our house less than a year later. We visited 20 or more Open Houses, but were enamored with the privacy of the animal preserve behind our house. Most houses in The Villages back on other houses or privacy walls.
The Villages is often called an adult Disneyland. Nine championship golf courses and 24 "free" executive courses attract the golfer, but the town squares with nightly live music and dancing are our favorite venue. You can play bridge 7 days a week, tennis, pickleball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, archery, etc. The possibilities are endless. Or just relax at one of the numerous pools. You don't even need your car as everything is accessible by golf cart.
Located only an hour north of Disney World and the Orlando Airport, The Villages is easily accessible. The beaches of Daytona, Clearwater and St. Pete's are only an hour and a half away.

Nancy retired in 2002 from Procter & Gamble where she was a research analyst working on the Pantene hair care brand. She was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2006, but after surgery and chemo and radio therapy and much prayer she received a liver transplant in September 2007. She has become a spokesperson for liver cancer fighters and survivors on the national stage. She enjoys grandchildren, golf, bridge, traveling and hanging out with friends.
Clint retired in 2002 as the CEO of a large nonprofit corporation in Kentucky. He enjoys hanging out with Nancy, playing chess and NTN trivia, and travel.

We were extremely pleased with our choice of this rental. Description of this beautiful home is accurate and the photos accurately reflect its appearance. We enjoyed walking/running in the quiet neighborhood and were pleased to find that the Spanish Springs Village was within walking distance. Owners promptly responded to questions and we would highly recommend this property.

We have been going to The Villages for 15 yrs, and this is the first time we rented a home and I wll do it again in a minute. The home is warm and inviting, has all the ameneties needed, and it is perfectly located to all the shopping areas around. My Family and I enjoyed relaxing in the Lanai, looking out over the Owl Preserve, and watching the Owls, and the amazing Sunsets. We even saw a Fox stalking it's prey...but the prey was too quick, thank goodness! I would recommend this home to everyone I know. You can't beat the price either!!! Thank you so much for letting us rent it!

Thank you!! As you know, we love your house & it was perfect as ever. You just can't beat the location either. The new additions just made it even better: gas golf cart, cool looking bar-high table & chairs for eating on lanai, DVR, security modem, king-size bed & the new heating/air conditioning unit (works great!). We loved sitting on the lanai in the evenings & watching the beautiful sunsets or lightening displays. Your home is always so clean & watching the wildlife in the preserve is an added treat - gopher tortoise, coyote, Cooper hawk, rabbit! No matter how long we stay, which was over a month this time, it's just never long enough!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We had a really wonderful time sitting on the screened-in patio, driving golf carts & playing golf. Your house was exactly what we needed & we were extremely impressed by your determination to make it perfect for us. Can't wait to come back again & stay longer!
Owner response:The Kurimotos and Millers were unfortunate enough to be here when the air conditioning went out. Temps were in the 90s and the ceiling fan was stuck on slow. We managed to arrange for a squirt of freon to get them thru the week. They were very understanding. We replaced the a/c this week, 10/2009, with a high-efficiency unit and repaired the ceiling fan. Also bought a new BBQ grille based on their recommendation.

Thank you! Your place is great. My mom is a Rio Grande villager. She's been here almost 20 years--we are having an 80th birthday party for her today. We have about 40 people coming to this event so we had to find a place to stay & I'm so glad we found your place. Location is great, it was nice to deal with you & I like the privacy. (When I re-read my letter I want to clarify we (all 40) did not stay at your place--we had six for a couple days and all enjoyed.)

We have had a great couple of months here in The Villages. December weather was above normal and we so enjoyed being away from the below normal temperatures in Wisconsin! Everything was just perfect. We hope to be back next year.
