You are most likely aware of all the great reasons to spend some time at The Villages, Florida's Friendliest Hometown. I won't rehash all of this community's selling points, but I do want to tell you why we think our home is the very best place to stay to get the most from your Villages' experience.
We bought this home in 2006, not for its rental potential, but as a place to live. We visited a lot of open houses before we bought, but wound up buying the first one we looked at. It cost a little more, but the privacy of our backyard is a rarity in The Villages.
My wife, Nancy, furnished the house with care and attention to detail to include anything necessary for an enjoyable stay. I added the high-definition television, high-speed cable internet, computer and wireless network because I like electronic gadgets.
We also love to take our golf cart to the Spanish Springs Town Square for its nightly entertainment, restaurants, bars and shopping. It takes about 5 minutes to get there. Often, we will drive the cart to the Lake Sumter Landing Town Square, about 12 minutes by cart. (We love the camaraderie and Happy Hour fun at the outdoor bar, Urban Flats, and playing trivia at RJ Gators.)
From our central location you can easily drive the cart to the farthest courses, Havana or Nancy Lopez, play 18 holes, stop at the town square of your choice, and make it home with battery charge to spare.
To sum up: beautifully furnished home, private backyard, central location. Our rates are fair, too, check us out. We would love to have you visit for a while.

Why the Owner Chose The Villages
Nancy discovered The Villages in 2005 when she located a cousin she hadn't seen in 20 years. We were hooked after our first visit and bought our house less than a year later. We visited 20 or more Open Houses, but were enamored with the privacy of the animal preserve behind our house. Most houses in The Villages back on other houses or privacy walls.
The Villages is often called an adult Disneyland. Nine championship golf courses and 24 "free" executive courses attract the golfer, but the town squares with nightly live music and dancing are our favorite venue. You can play bridge 7 days a week, tennis, pickleball, horseshoes, shuffleboard, archery, etc. The possibilities are endless. Or just relax at one of the numerous pools. You don't even need your car as everything is accessible by golf cart.
Located only an hour north of Disney World and the Orlando Airport, The Villages is easily accessible. The beaches of Daytona, Clearwater and St. Pete's are only an hour and a half away.
Nightly live entertainment. Katie Belle's. Restaurants, bars, shopping.

Nancy retired in 2002 from Procter & Gamble where she was a research analyst working on the Pantene hair care brand. She was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2006, but after surgery and chemo and radio therapy and much prayer she received a liver transplant in September 2007. She has become a spokesperson for liver cancer fighters and survivors on the national stage. She enjoys grandchildren, golf, bridge, traveling and hanging out with friends.
Clint retired in 2002 as the CEO of a large nonprofit corporation in Kentucky. He enjoys hanging out with Nancy, playing chess and NTN trivia, and travel.

The Kurimotos and Millers were unfortunate enough to be here when the air conditioning went out. Temps were in the 90s and the ceiling fan was stuck on slow. We managed to arrange for a squirt of freon to get them thru the week. They were very understanding. We replaced the a/c this week, 10/2009, with a high-efficiency unit and repaired the ceiling fan. Also bought a new BBQ grille based on their recommendation.

Thank you! Your place is great. My mom is a Rio Grande villager. She's been here almost 20 years--we are having an 80th birthday party for her today. We have about 40 people coming to this event so we had to find a place to stay & I'm so glad we found your place. Location is great, it was nice to deal with you & I like the privacy. (When I re-read my letter I want to clarify we (all 40) did not stay at your place--we had six for a couple days and all enjoyed.)

We have had a great couple of months here in The Villages. December weather was above normal and we so enjoyed being away from the below normal temperatures in Wisconsin! Everything was just perfect. We hope to be back next year.

We love your home! It is in a great location! We sat a lot on your lanai and saw all kinds of animals, caterpillars trapped on the porch (that we set free!), lizards, birds (blue jays, mockingbirds and mourning doves) and squirrels. We so enjoyed ourselves and cannot wait to come back!

Thanks for sharing your lovely place with us. The expanse in the back is so tranquil and beautiful. I won't soon forget seeing little puffs of dirt appearing above ground only to find a turtle preparing her nest. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will depart in a couple of days to our own new home in The Villages. Let the games begin!
