Waterfront estate on one of the largest private lots in the prestigious Palmetto Dunes Plantation, directly on the 12-mile lagoon system with your own private dock and only steps (4th row) from the beach, this is the perfect, large-scale, family vacation home. The totally new bright and cheerful interior for the will delight you at every turn.
This 6000 square foot, six bedroom, lavish home and adjoining carriage house has everything to make your vacation the most delightful and relaxing ever. The huge pool that can be *heated (18X38) area is an outstanding feature that families just don't want to leave! Bird lovers will enjoy the Whippoorwill's songs and identifying endless species soaring over the water. A fisherman's dream with guides available or launch your own canoe/kayak.
The FIRST LEVEL of main house features expansive and stunning views of the sparkling lagoon. There are both covered and open decks for grilling/eating. The first floor includes 1 queen bedroom,1 king master with custom designed shower and soaking tub, and 2 twin bunks, 2 separate living rooms, a game room, brand new kitchen with copper-top island, stainless appliances, granite counters, and dining area. Plush seating in all areas with flat screen TV's in each living room AND all bedrooms.
The SECOND LEVEL main house has 2 additional king bedrooms each with private custom-designed baths and lagoon/garden views. All linens are tastefully selected.
The separate CARRIAGE HOUSE has private entrance, a master king bedroom, private bath, kitchenette, and living room with sleeper sofa/flat screen TV - provides a perfect accommodation for nanny, grandma, and/or family with infants.
You can hear the crash of the surf at high tide - with only a two-minute walk to the one of the best stretches of the famous 12-mile white sandy beach. With its very large pool and outdoor decks, many gathering areas, expansive parking with circular driveway, and separate carriage house, this home welcomes large groups and families.

Good place to stay but had some issues

We stayed on this property with a total of 8 adults and 4 children from 9/3/11 - 9/10/11. The house had two very nice lounge areas so that you did not feel crowded among all the guests staying. We enjoyed the back patio area as it was tile and covered, which was very nice to sit and watch the morning rain for the first half of our trip. The distance to the beach was very convenient as it was right across the street. My family unit stayed in the cottage house while the other family members stayed in the house itself; we were very pleased with the cottage house. Unfortunately, I will have to agree somewhat with another review posted for this home. It is on the market for sale and therefore seems that the property is "bare bones" and uncared for in some areas. There is a lack of some dishes and silverware (especially) to accommodate all the guests we had. When we arrived on the property there were only 7 beach towels and we were told that the satellite company carried a network so that we could view a particular football game only to find out that wasn't the case upon our arrival. Also, several items did not work such as the fridge, which did not close properly and a piece was broken at the bottom. The DVD player in the carriage house did not work as well. Finally, the biggest problem we had was the cockroaches. We have visited HHI several times in the past and are "prepared" for a tropical vacation but we've never seen this many roaches in other houses. We found them in the house at night and worst of all, they got into the clothes of my sister-in-law's family and they found dead ones in their dryer at home after doing laundry!! It appears the house needs better best control!!!
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children.

This was by far the best family vacation we have taken. There were 14 of us and there was never a dull moment between the pool, beach, deep sea fishing, canoeing & kayaking in the lagoon, biking on the incredible bike paths, there was never a dull moment. The vacation home was loved by all. It is top shelf! Had a little problem with the grill, which was rusted out on the bottom, but it was quickly replaced by the service. We did not feel crowded at all. Tons of space. The setting is very private. Lush landscape with a deer seen from time to time. We will definitely be visiting 77 Mooring Buoy again in the future!
