Why the Owner Chose Kahana
Having lived in California all of our lives, we’ve had easy and inexpensive access to Hawaii. We have traveled to all of the Hawaiian Islands since 1968, and found the West Maui area to be the best sunset location with the islands of Lanai and Molokai bracketing the sunset.
We were thrilled to find our fifth floor Hololani oceanfront condo with the view over the top of the palm trees. There is no place that we have traveled in the world that compares with the area’s beauty and it is easy and inexpensive access.
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
During whale season (November to May), we can’t go more than a few minutes without seeing whales from of our oceanfront Lanai. The other months of the year we are always entertained with the barge and cruise ship traffic, and the kite-boards and wind surfers flying over the waves. We recommend that our guests travel with binoculars because there is always something to see from our oceanfront lanai.
Our condo is located near good restaurants, world class golf courses, shopping, hiking, all kinds of water sports and spectacular views from all around the island. The trip to Hana and up to Haleakala are a must. Our best day in Maui is sitting on the lanai reading a good book and watching the sparkling waves as the sun moves across the sky. With any luck we’ll see spinning dolphins, monk seals, huge sea turtles or flying fish frolicking in the Pacific.

We retired from our careers in the San Francisco bay area and moved to our condo in Maui with a plan to stay for two years and then return to the California foothills.
Rotating between Maui and our motor home in California allowed our regular renters to continue to use our condo and gave us an opportunity to visit the U.S, Canada, and Alaska. We have since located in the Sierra foothills where we tend to our orchard trees, Zinfandel grapevines, vegetable and rose garden. At the end of the growing season we are back to Maui for our sunset fix.
