*** Come visit Mammoth. There's lots to do in the summer, the air is fresh, and the temps are cooler than at home (unless you live in Alaska!!!)
Our condo in Mammoth View Villas is a second home for us and is in a very quiet location set back from the road. Our building has only 4 units in it, two studios below and two studio/loft units above. So there is never anyone walking on top of your head or tromping down the hall in ski boots. The only sound you may hear is the snow sliding off the roof, the birds singing, or the whistling wind.
The condo is a non-smoking studio/loft unit with 2 bathrooms and a beautiful view of the mountains and Crowley Lake. It has a full kitchen with brand new stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher, microwave, wood-burning fireplace, 32' TV, VCR, DVD, stereo with a cassette and CD player. Free wi-fi is provided. The condo is quite large, approximately 800 sq. ft.
The living room has a new full size futon (very comfortable) and the loft has a queen-size bed and a full bathroom. There are also two single futons. Note that the loft is completely enclosed to provide total privacy for those sleeping upstairs. The entry level has the living room, fireplace, kitchen, dining area and a full bathroom.
The living room area can be divided from the rest of the downstairs in order to provide privacy for those sleeping downstairs. There is a heavy accordian divider that can be pulled across to separate the downstairs into 2 rooms. This unit sleeps up to 4 adults, or 3 adults and 2 children.
Wood, linens, towels, and other necessities are supplied. There is also an extensive collection of books and ski magazines for the times when you are not outdoors. The condo is on Lakeview Blvd. and the Blue Line Shuttle bus stops directly in front of the development (in winter). It is a short walk to the new Village where you eat, shop, and enjoy various activities. You can also catch the Gondola up to Canyon Lodge from the Village.
No pets or Recreational Vehicles such as campers are allowed. SUVs are fine, of course.
Mammoth Mountain is a fabulous ski area with runs from beginner to expert for everyone to enjoy. It is easily accessible from Los Angeles or Reno. Our condo is a great place to enjoy everything Mammoth has to offer.
Mammoth Mountain is a four season resort. Just because winter has ended doesn't mean there's nothing to do there. On the contrary, the air is clean and fresh, the skies are blue, it's warm and dry during the day, and it cools down nicely at night. When you are tired of the heat and humidity and pollution of wherever you live, book with us for a refreshing change.
You can bicycle on the roads or trails, have your bike transported to the base of the mountain, or take your mountain bike to the top via the Gondola and ride down from there. You can also take a scenic ride to the top of the mountain. At 11,053 ft. it may be cool, so bring a light jacket. There are numerous lakes and streams for swimming, fishing or boating. There are tons of trails for hiking, rock climbing, backpacking, and camping out. There are a number of festivals which take place throughout the summer. You can enjoy golf or tennis at 8,000 ft. You can also visit the hot creeks or take a day trip to Bodie (old authentic ghost town) or Yosemite.
Note that this is a private unit and is not on a Mammoth rental service. Thus we an provide you with lower rates. However, daily maid service is not provided. We provide a mid-stay clean free of charge for stays of 6 or more days.

Had a fine stay here for President's weekend. The hot tub was great, the price was reasonable and it's close to the village. My only complaint was the overwhelming smell of cigarette smoke that's permeated the interior of this place. It was tough to sit on the couch at times because the smell was so strong. It's posted as non-smoking but clearly someone has been smoking for a great course of time in here. We would almost choke when we opened the door from the cool fresh mountain air to walk in. Interior is outdated, but this place has all the basics and is comfortable and in a convenient location. Probably wouldn't stay here again because of the cigarette smell though.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We rented this condo based on the proximity to the village, and the price. I'm normally not that picky about lodging, and require nothing more than hot showers, heat, and a lack of vermin to be satisfied. On that rating scale, it passes muster, and the owners were friendly and easy to deal with, so I can't complain. If you want the latest/greatest place with granite countertops, and new furnishings, then pay an extra $75/night and stay in the village. If you want a hot shower and a bed, reasonably priced, and close to the village then you can't go wrong here. My only complaint: It's obvious that this hasn't always been a non-smoking condo, as a pretty strong smoke smell is present when you enter the room from outside. Some people are more sensitive to that than others, so be warned if you're the sensitive type. I stopped noticing it after a while -- though it was always noticeable upon returning to the room -- and it was not entirely pleasant.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

This rental offers extra ordinary value. Two of us rented it for 1 week in the summer, as a base for day hikes in the Mammoth, Bishop, Virginia Lakes and East Yosemite areas. It was clean and well maintained, well situated, and exactly as advertized. We intend to return.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This 1 bedroom is quite spacious and was enough for our family of 4 (4 and 2 yrs old kids). We liked the interior, but nothing can beat the air and the views. We saw a couple of sunrises from the loft that were breathtaking. Plenty of things to do... we'd like to come back and stay a full week. The owners were very responsive and accommodating. Many thanks.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family of 3 recently rented this condo in Mammoth Lakes and had one of our best vacations ever! The condo was this perfect size for us and included everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There were so many things to do in Mammoth Lakes that we could hardly get to them all in a week (hiking, biking, boating, gondola rides, shopping, Bodie, Mono Lake...) I would highly recommend a summer vacation in Mammoth and would definitely rent this particular condo again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
