Are you looking for a little Serenity in your next Gulf Coast vacation? You have found it in Cedar Key, Florida! Our views of the Gulf are panoramic, our style is low-key, and we want you to kick back, get comfortable and most of all, have a great time!
Serenity is a third floor* vacation rental condominium with one king bedroom, plus loft bedroom. The master bedroom is next to a full bath. The loft bedroom has its own shower bath. Our vaulted ceiling offers incredible two-story views of Cedar Key's back channel and Waccasassa Bay. If you are a bird-watcher, you will be mesmerized by the variety of birds that feed and hang out just below your private balcony. Throw open the French doors in nice weather and feel the sea air and breezes gently relax your mind and body. Enjoy the sunrise palette across the sky with your morning coffee and the spectacular colors of the sunsets each evening.

Our condominium is fully furnished and equipped for your convenience. Our goal is to bring you back again and again. Besides the fully-equipped kitchen, our amenities include a private DSL-connected personal computer and free WiFi access for your laptop, so you can check out local menus and activities. (Private DSL means you won't be sharing your connection with the rest of the condos in the complex.) Free streaming movies via NetFlix and Roku provide plenty of entertainment and music options. Free long distance calling in the US and Canada is included.
We purchased and refurbished the condo in summer 2005 - kitchenware was replaced. Living and dining areas were revamped in 2007 with fabulous ceramic tile - feels great on your bare feet after a hot summer day! Upgrades in 2008 include new linens, new blinds, and some new kitchen equipment. 2009 upgrades include a new king size bed, new linens, new plush mattress, and small appliances. 2011 updates include laminate flooring in the bedrooms.
Well-behaved dogs on flea and tick treatment may be accepted with owner permission. We prefer that you crate your dog when not in the condominium.
Cedar Key is perfect for couples or family vacations. Park your car and walk to restaurants, galleries, boat rentals, shops, and the town marina. Most dining and shopping options on Dock Street are three blocks from Serenity. Bike, scooter, and golf cart rentals are also available if you would like to range a bit further. Cedar Key is part of Florida's Nature Coast--the feathered wildlife is abundant, the spring break party crowd is NOT. If you are looking for sugar-sand beaches, wild nightclubs, or singles bars don't come to Cedar Key--you won't find nightlife or long beaches here.
Our location insures no car noise from busy streets, no bar noise, just the sounds of birds, boats, and happy people fishing or playing in the pool. We're close enough to walk to Dock Street, but far enough away that you'll appreciate the serenity of the setting.
But, if you are looking to enjoy old Florida without "the mouse", the plastic, or the crowds, come to Cedar Key and relax on the balcony and watch the birds and boats go by. You will not want to leave. Cedar Key is surrounded by the Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge - a refuge famous for its extensive colonies of nesting birds. Depending on the season you visit, you will see Roseate Spoonbills, White Pelicans, Dowitchers, Willets, Skimmers, Oystercatchers, Frigate Birds, Wood Storks, and many LBBs (little brown shorebirds, from plovers to sandpipers). Always resident are: Great Blue Herons, Little Blue Herons, Tricolors, Great Egrets, Osprey, Bald Eagles, and many others.

Why the Owner Chose Cedar Key
We started visiting Cedar Key in 1997. An obscure reference to Cedar Key online doing a web search piqued our curiosity and we headed down for a long weekend and fell in love with Cedar Key (and each other!).
I used to spend my off season escapes on the Cape or on the Maine coast. After the move to GA, I couldn't find anything that had the old New England funky seaside town feel - where it didn't matter if you dressed for dinner, where there weren't any silly requirements for what shade of blue you could paint on a sign, and where birdwatching was just something you did as a matter of course, not as a serious sport with a scorecard.
Cedar Key met all those requirements and more. No chain stores, lots of "gone fishing" signs in windows of businesses, restaurants with really good food. We looked for a place to love, found our spot and waited five years for our first condo to be built. We had the pick of the sites. We "did good" ;-> on choosing which unit so we'd have an excellent view.
Now 15 years later, Cedar Key is still our favorite place to escape. We still spend most of our Cedar Key time hanging out on our balcony or the fishing dock watching the world go by to de-stress. And we love renting the condos out to folks and sharing our passion - Cedar Key, Florida.

We have stayed at this property numerous times and have enjoyed each and every visit. Cedar Key is a very unique destination and Serenity is the perfect place to stay. This condo is very comfortable, well equipped, beautifully decorated, and has an amazing view!

We really enjoyed our stay at Serenity. The condo is beautiful and had everything we needed. We loved watching the sunrises and birds from the balcony. We even saw 2 dolphins playing in the water right in front of us. We enjoyed our trip to Manatee Springs Park and saw some manatees. The kayak trip through the maze of islands we see from the balcony was wonderful. The dining experience next door at Cedar Grove was a real treat. Fabulous! Far exceeded our expectation. From the balcony, the views are superb - we identified 37 species of birds all in a few days. Hard to tear ourselves away from the balcony views. Always a show going on as the tide goes out and comes in. What a fabulous weekend! My boyfriend brought me here for my 26th birthday and I'm in love! This hidden gem is amazing. We love how close and easy the boat launching area was. We had much success in our fishing adventures. What we loved the most was hanging out on the balcony and around the condo. We have so many great photos. We will definitely come back to Cedar Key soon. John and Cindy, thank you for sharing your Serenity!

Departure Day is usually sweetly sad. Leaving after a weekend of Serenity is no exception. We loved the sunsets from the balcony.. and the sunrises!!! We wanted to take-in all of Cedar Key and we almost did! People are so friendly here, and we always felt like we were living in "island time" a far cry from the rushed feeling of regular life. A beautiful condo, everything you need, the food, the nature, the kitty-cats on the beach, puttin' around on a golf cart, catching dinner and cooking and eating it! Everything! Loved it! Thank you!

Serenity is a lovely unit containing everything one could want. Spectacular view from balcony is best on island. Saw 33 bird species, most right from balcony. Everything was even better than expected from photos and descriptions. Owners very friendly and helpful. No negatives!

Thanks for a wonderful four nights at Serenity - everything was perfect. We were lucky to have beautiful weather so enjoyed lovely mornings and evenings on the balcony, taking in the incredible view. which we think is the best on the island. We felt very much at home with the decor and furnishings of Serenity, and had everything we could need or wish for. We thought the food at the Island Room at Cedar Cove was by far the best food on the island. The best crab cakes and hearts of palm salad we've ever had... and the only authentic key lime pie on Cedar Key. We came for stone crab and were not disappointed with those we bought at Robinson's Seafood (we enjoyed them on our balcony on a beautiful evening). We were also very impressed with the fine selection of books at Curmudgeon's. A highlight for us was seeing 33 species of birds, most right from our balcony!
