Are you looking for a little Serenity in your next Gulf Coast vacation? You have found it in Cedar Key, Florida! Our views of the Gulf are panoramic, our style is low-key, and we want you to kick back, get comfortable and most of all, have a great time!
Serenity is a third floor condominium with one bedroom (brand new king bed 9/2009), plus loft bedroom with one and-three-fourth baths. Our vaulted ceiling offers incredible two-story views of Cedar Key's back channel and Waccasassa Bay. If you are a bird-watcher, you will be mesmerized by the variety of birds that feed and hang out just below your private balcony. Throw open the French doors in nice weather and feel the sea air and breezes gently relax your mind and body. Enjoy the sunrise palette across the sky with your morning coffee and the spectacular colors of the sunsets each evening.

Cedar Key is surrounded by the Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge - a refuge famous for its extensive colonies of nesting birds. Depending on the season you visit, you will see Roseate Spoonbills, White Pelicans, Dowitchers, Willets, Skimmers, Oystercatchers, Frigate Birds, Wood Storks, and many LBBs (little brown shorebirds, from plovers to sandpipers). Always resident are: Great Blue Herons, Little Blue Herons, Tricolors, Great Egrets, Osprey, Bald Eagles, and many others.
Our condominium is fully furnished and equipped for your comfort and convenience. Our goal is to bring you back again and again. Besides the fully-equipped kitchen, our amenities includes a private DSL-connected personal computer and free WiFi access for your laptop, so you can check out local menus and activities. We purchased and refurbished the condominium in summer 2005 - kitchenware was replaced. Living and dining areas were revamped in 2007 with fabulous ceramic tile - feels great on your feet! Upgrades in 2008 include new linens, new blinds, and some new kitchen equipment. 2009 upgrades include a new king size bed, new linens, new plush mattress, and small appliances.
Well-behaved dogs on flea and tick treatment may be accepted with owner permission. We prefer that you crate your dog when not in the condominium.
Cedar Key is perfect for couples or family vacations. Park your car and walk to restaurants, galleries, boat rentals, shops, and the town marina. Most dining and shopping options on Dock Street are three blocks from Serenity. Bike, scooter, and golf cart rentals are also available if you would like to range a bit further. Cedar Key is part of Florida's Nature Coast--the feathered wildlife is abundant, the spring break party crowd is NOT. If you are looking for sugar-sand beaches, wild nightclubs, or singles bars don't come to Cedar Key--you won't find nightlife or long beaches here.
But, if you are looking to enjoy old Florida without "the mouse", the plastic, or the crowds, come to Cedar Key and relax on the balcony and watch the birds and boats go by. You will not want to leave.
Basic Amenities:
+ Master Bedroom has king bed, closet, three sets of linens.

+ Loft Bedroom has day bed with trundle below (two twins) or join twins with "bed joiner" to create a king.
+ Loft Bath is 1.75 bath - shower only.
+ Kitchen has pot rack with stainless set of Wolfgang Puck cookware, casserole dishes, serveware, and dishes for eight. Dining room seats four. Two bar stools at kitchen counter. Clam steamer, coffeemaker, coffee grinder, bagel toaster, microwave, blender all provided.
+ Balcony has railing-height table with chairs chairs. A rolling cart in kitchen helps serve meals on the balcony.
+ Plenty of glass and plastic ware for serving drinks. Pitchers also provided.
+ Full-sized washer and dryer. Magazines, books, small CD and DVD library.

Why the Owner Chose Cedar Key
We started visiting Cedar Key in 1997. An obscure reference to Cedar Key online doing a web search piqued our curiosity and we headed down for a long weekend and fell in love.
When I lived in Massachusetts, I'd spent my off season escapes on the Cape or on the Maine coast. After moving to GA, I couldn't find anything that had the old New England funky seaside town feel - where it didn't matter if you dressed for dinner, where there weren't any silly requirements for what shade of blue you could paint on a sign, and where birdwatching was just something you did as a matter of course, not as a serious sport with a scorecard.
Cedar Key met all those requirements and more. No chain stores, lots of "gone fishing" signs in windows of businesses, restaurants with good food and not just the weird of the week. We looked for a place to love, found our spot and waited five years for our first condo to be built. We had the pick of the sites. We "did good" on choosing which unit so we'd have an excellent view.
Now 12 years later, Cedar Key is still our favorite place to escape. We still spend most of our Cedar Key time hanging out on our balcony or the fishing dock watching the world go by to de-stress. And we love renting the condos out to folks and sharing our passion - Cedar Key, Florida.

We love this place. The great hting is you can stay busy, busy doing so many things or you can just kick back and take in all God's creations. What an awesome experience we had from touring the backwaters on Brain's air boat to bike riding on island and having hte world's best clam chowder at Tony's. We will be reliving this vacation for weeks and month to come. We shall return!!

It was really nice of your to put together the book with all the info. We appreciated all the inside info; which was very accurate! Golf carts are a must. Tony's clam chowder also a must. The clams here are better than they are in New England. I was shocked!

I have never been to Cedar Key, but this was a weekend to remember. As stated in previous entries, the balcony and view are spectacular. Our family rented a boat through Cedar Key Marina, and the thoroughly enjoyed cruising the channel and "shell-hunting" on the islands. This condo felt just like a home; comfy beds, and the personal touches that were left throughout the entire house. Tony's Clam Chowder was definitely the best I've ever had. No need for a gym in Cedar Key, that's why the stairs are there (family joke). Thank you for sharing your "humble abode" we greatly appreciate it!

WOW!! This is a truly amazing place! Cindy and John, you have definately made your space comfortable and inviting. We loved everything about it. From the early mornings, watching the sky come alive with the many different birds, trying to get as many as identified as we could to relaxing at night with a good bottle of wine and sharing stories out of this book. Itls like your own chicken soup about your condo! We Loved it!!

Another wonderful, relaxing week in Cedar Key! This may become a tradition! Cindy and John, your condo couldn't be any better. We thoroughly loved our mornings spent on the balcony bird watching, dolphin watching (lots one morning), reading and doing our sudoku. Serenity truly helps us recharge after a long, cold, and stressful winter. We tried kayaking this year and explored the islands. The kayak proprietor, Tom, could not have been nicer or more helpful. He has a true love and knowledge of the area. We explored Manatee Springs State Park and Silve River State Park - great hiking. As our week draws to a close, it's hard to leave. We started counting down the weeks until we arrive at Serenity in Janaury. We certainly hope to visit again!
