    We often stay in the Engelwood area, but this is the first time we did not stay on one of the bridgeless islands. It was really nice to have the best of both worlds this time. The house was very well equipped, in fact, I left some beach items in the car because they were already supplied.There were an abundance of clean, fresh linens including lots of beach towels. The dock was very convenient. It had water, but no electricity.if you absolutely needed power you could probably bring a long extension cord. It was really nice to be able to see the dock from the living room. We brought our boat and two kayaks and used them every day. We felt very much at home and we hope to come back.

    Recommended for: Families with teenagers, pet owners.

    Sheri/Tom I wanted to thank you for the use of your home this past week. We really enjoyed your place, and it was everything we hoped it would be. It was difficult to leave today.     We have just returned from Florida and enjoyed a truly wonderful time at Gone Fish Inn. We found the house, stocked with everything we required and give credit to your cleaner as it was spotlessly clean. The boys spent most of their time on the dock catching fish, accompanied by a friendly heron! We were delighted to see both manatee and dolphins. Everything lived up to our expectations and more. Thank you again for sharing your beautiful home.

    We had a great time and really enjoyed the location! It was very quiet, and clean-two things we look for when on vacation. It was perfect for all our hobbies, and very relaxing! The kids caught quite a few fish from the dock during the numerous hours they spent fishing! Next time we vacation in Englewood, we would definitely stay there again, and will recommend it to others. Thanks again!

    After a repeat visit to Manasota Key, we've determined that this little gem in Florida is a best-kept secret that must be shared. Gone Fish Inn is the perfect place to unwind and relax - the back deck is perfect for just that very thing. Brisk walks on the beach are also in order - you just have to give way to the blue herons lurking to grab a treat from a fisherman standing nearby. We saw more osprey, pelicans, bald eagles, ibis, wood storks and dolphin than we have anywhere else in Florida. The best treat of all is joining like-minded folks like us with glass in hand on the beach at sunset toasting the sun as it drops down below the horizon. It doesn't get any better than that.

    Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

    Hi Tom and Sheri,,, Just want to drop you a note that we had a very relaxing and warm week at Gone Fish Inn. And everything was great. My wife is already talking about another week in 2010.

    Just wanted to say thanks for allowing us to rent your house on Manasota Key. It was probably the best vacation ever for our family. We just sat on the beach and enjoyed the surf and sand. The house was great and we enjoyed being on the bay. My daughter took two of her friends. I was a little worried that three 17 year olds would be bored, but they truly enjoyed the "down time". We were all a little depressed when we left to be returning to 40 degree weather in North Georgia. Manasota Key will definitely spoil you!! Again,Thanks! Hopefully, we can do this again next year!!!

    We just spent the week of 2/7/08 here and were just smitten with the Manasota Key area and Gone Fish Inn. We loved the location, the privacy, and the generosity of being able to bring our little dog with us. The house was perfect for our needs - we could have lived on the screened-in back deck alone! Needless to say, we have a bad case of Manasotaitis and will just have to return to find a cure.

    Gone Fish Inn was everything you said it is--and more. We had a wonderful week there and hope to return in the future. Roger caught fish from the dock. The house was very clean and comfortable!
