Casa Mirage (5 bedrooms with attached studio) is a two story oceanfront villa set upon the white sandy beach of Playa Grande. The Spanish architecture, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, emphasizes an open air design with rooms uniquely opening into the privacy of a private courtyard.
The villa is integrated with rich Costa Rican culture, beautiful local hardwords, pottery of the Choretega Indians, and artwork from Central America. Terrazo flooring in the living spaces extend outdoors, furnishings are contemporary, colorful, and comfortable. All five bedrooms and studio feature air conditioning, ceiling fans, and a safety box. The two upstairs bedrooms have their own private sitting area, balcony, and wetbar. Expansive wrap-around verandas both upstairs and downstairs provide spectacular beach and sunset views. You will find the Casa Mirage offers a perfect and uncomplicated oceanfront vacation, designed with couples, friends, families, or groups in mind. It's also a wonderful site for a wedding. Including our adjacent villa, Villa Olivia, we can accommodate a total of 26 guests.

Why the Owner Chose Playa Grande
We are a family of "water babies" raised on the beach shores of Santa Barbara, CA. (Of course the grand kids also have this ocean gene). Once my children (Julie, J.C, and Mark) became of an age when we could all travel my husband and I would take them during summer vacation on a surf safari to an exotic destination somewhere in the world. This was not only for fun, but to spend quality time with each other and expose them to different cultures and customs.
On a surfing safari to Costa Rica in '91 we instantly fell in love with the country, the kind and hospitable people, and the natural habitat. It was a paradise!! Long story short after returning to the States and raving to family and friends about this oasis a friend said he had the perfect property for our family in Playa Grande.
My husband, Jim, flew down a month later and purchased the property for me as my 50th B-Day present! Over the past 16 years both my family and friends lives have been significantly enhanced by the beauty of the "Tico" people, the natural wonders that surrounds us and the "Pura Vida" lifestyle. This means Pure Life, an expression of contentment, happiness, and satisfaction with ones life. It's this philosophy that ranks Costa Rica as one of the happiest places in the world!!

Truly, we all enjoyed the most wonderful stay at your home!!! Casa Mirage was absolutely perfect J and everything you portrayed it to be and so much more! Marianela was a wonderful help with everything . . . . she greeted us when we arrived and got us off and running with a plan of what to see and do.. . . . Kimberly was an angel(her children and momma too!) – always willing to do whatever we asked and her cooking . . . well you know better than anyone, we were blessed!!! Truly, we felt right at home. Casa Mirage was the most wonderful fit for our family – breathtaking setting, quite, peaceful and low keyed, long walks on the beach in the morning and late afternoon. The hammocks were a real hit – soooo relaxing! And of course, the children surfed all day! Rip Jack’s was also great for yoga and the local surf shop (your suggestion) – of course, right on the mark! Needless to say we are in withdrawal and sadly missing your beautiful sunsets, our great family dinners and Kimberly’s smile and magical disposition! Hopefully, we will be blessed with some time to make a return visit next year if you all will have us J! We were sorry not to overlapped with you and your mother, that would have been great fun! Until we speak again, be well and enjoy the rest of your Summer and thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise with us!!! Please extend our love to all in Costa Rica, we certainly hope that you also enjoyed a great visit back home ~

Had we been notified of the noisy a/c they would have been replaced. We were in the process of replacing the roof/gutters, hardware, and flooring but the rains arrived earlier than anticipated and are now having to wait until May.
