Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1997
I'm on the left, standing in the Julietta House Reception Hall with the producer and camera man for Chronicle, the Boston based tv show that highlights interesting things to do in New England. They highlighted our Friday night scrapbook events. When the house isnt rented, mostly during the slower season, we keep the house busy with community events and fundraisers. Scrapbooking is one of the things I like to do. I donate some of our proceeds to the local homeless shelter.
Why the Owner Chose Gloucester
I bought this house with no knowledge whatso ever that Gloucester was a tourist destination. I have discovered through our guests over the years, just how amazing, rich and diverse this beautiful landscape is. From the Glorious Sunrises to the even more Glorious Sunsets, the multiple lighthouses, the fine food, local crafters, varieties of theater, music, dance, art, photography, fishing, whale watches, watersports, kayaking, birding, rowing, biking, hiking, gravestone rubbings, you name it. Its all here, like a hidden jewel in plain sight.
The Unique Benefits of this House
You dont really need your car. You can walk out the door in the morning to get a cup of coffee meeting friends along the way. Take in the sunrise over the waterfront, breathe salt air and laugh at the local color of the shop keepers. Buy fresh bread or donuts; grab sandwiches for your day at the beach, take the bus to the beach. Return home, enjoy an afternoon cocktail out on our three season porch and walk out to a fine meal in the evening, then catch some music in yet another location on the walk back. The antique backdrop of the house is so uncommonly detailed that you will just feel special your whole visit. Most of all, you will sleep well, night after night waking refreshed and rested.
