Another wonderful vacation at Daffodil Cottages!

Guest: Sara A. (Western Massachusetts)
Date of Stay: 08/20/11 Review Submitted: 08/30/11

We visited last October and had a great time--rented out the back cottage. This year, we stayed at one of the front ones. It had a nice little bonus room that had a twin-sized cot. My daughters used it to play and read in when they wanted a little "quiet time". The cottage was immaculate when we arrived and Evelyn is a wonderful landlady to work with. The kitchen and bathroom are renovated and fresh. If you want to stay in a charming cottage with that real Cape Cod feel, try the Daffodil Cottages! They are off a quiet little road right near the center of Brewster. In the mornings, we walked over to the nearby coffee shop--with a few chickens running around, begging for muffin crumbs! A minute's walk away is also the Brewster Book Store, which looks small but is fantastic. Across the street is a Cumberland Farms gas station that sells the basics like milk, and also a decent variety of to-go sandwiches and snacks. If you can't resist fried fish and clams (we can't!) Kate's Seafood is a great clam shack with very fresh and tasty offerings a little way down the main street. There are many bay beaches and a couple of lovely ponds within a few minutes drive. A week's beach pass is $50 and we had no problem finding parking at any beach except Payne's Creek, which is small but nice. To me, it makes more sense to buy a beach pass and stay at the economical but very charming Daffodil Cottages than to pay considerably more for a place closer to the beaches. I've been going to Brewster every summer for a decade. This year, I decided to have a very laid-back vacation and explore more of Brewster than I usually do instead of driving around the Cape. I was suprised to find new shops and galleries that I had never stumbled upon before. We also tried new beaches. In fact, we spent most of our time right in Brewster and never got bored. We'll be back next year!

A lovely cottage and a great holiday

Guest: Andy (Chester, UK)
Date of Stay: 06/04/11 Review Submitted: 06/21/11

My wife and I stayed in one of the cottages at the beginning of June 2011 and we had a fabulous week. The cottage was very comfortable, very well equipped, and extremely well located. It is in a lovely wooded, quiet situation and only 2 minutes walk from several restaurants and shops. Brewster is perfectly situated on the quieter side of Cape Cod and a lovely beach was a short stroll away. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Thank you to Evelyn and Jon.

Great fall visit

Guest: Sara A. (Western Massachusetts)
Date of Stay: 10/15/10 Review Submitted: 10/19/10

We stayed in cottage 45 and were very happy with it. It's in the back of the property and has a little garden, outdoor patio with picnic table, and grill. The cottage is small but not cluttered, and has everything you need. The bathroom and kitchen appear to have been recently updated and everything was very clean. The queen bed was really comfortable as were the pillows and duvet. The cottage is off a quiet side street but is central to Brewster, which is a great place to stay on the Cape. We received our security deposit back promptly and plan to stay here again next year.Highly recommended!

Homey, comfortable, romantic!

Guest: Kerri (Queensbury, NY)
Date of Stay: 08/14/10 Review Submitted: 08/25/10

My Husband and I spent a week in August on our honeymoon at #45 cottage in the back near the beautiful garden and private woods. The cottage was clean, adorable, and well stocked with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the picnic table and bbq/griss out front for some dinners at home. We walked to different restaurants and Ellis Landing beach. We took a few bike rides. There is a fabulous coffee/bagel shop in walking distance with chickens and hens running around! Very interesting :) I would highly recommend staying at these cottages. We had a wonderful time. Brewster is only 45 minutes away from Provincetown and we were able to go to many different neighboring towns and beaches.

Great retreat for our little family!

Date of Stay: 08/07/10 Review Submitted: 08/23/10

First, we have to say we got lucky and had the chance to reserve due to a cancellation in june fore august. We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cottage! We stayed in cottage 45 (the best one in my opinion, altough the others seemed quite nice too), which was excellent with our 2 kids 2 and 5, they had a huge secluded yard to play, we had a wonderful scenery (beautiful flowers and lots of trees) for sipping our nighlty glass of wine.! The cottage was clean, the kitchen well equipped, the bathroom was brand new, the bed very comfortable and we had a nice big plasma TV and DVD in our bedroom! Other great surprises, there was an outside water hose for washing off the sand and for the kids to play with, plus there were sand toys for the kids that we left for the next! The surroundings were great for the services. Everything we needed was close by. The only downside, lots and lots of people in Cape Cod at this time of year. We had a hard time getting on 6A by car...Walk or bike is faster... Good thing we had the quiet cottage to come back to at the end of the day ;). Thanks again and hope to stay at your place maybe next year!

Great Brewster Vacation

Guest: Bob & Ruth (Bedford TX)
Date of Stay: 08/07/10 Review Submitted: 08/13/10

Not being able to vacation on the Cape for the past 3 years, we were delighted when our younger son found these quaint cottages for his family and we were able to book an adjacent one for ourselves. Of course, having our 11 month grandaughter with us was also a special treat. The cottages are so convenient to Rt 6A and the local Cumberland Farms where I could walk and get a paper each morning, not to mention their ice coffee for .$99. The close proximity to the Bike Trail and several other shopping areas was a great convenience. Evelyn and John truly made us feel at home and I would recommend them highly.

First Family Vacation

Guest: Jason (Way Upstate New York, USA)
Date of Stay: 06/05/10 Review Submitted: 06/21/10

We really enjoyed our week in cottage number 45. The cottage faced the back of the property which gave us a lot of privacy and allowed us to enjoy the landscaping and the rabbits that ventured into the yard. The cottage itself was clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. It was big enough for two adults and five and a half month old and all her extra stuff. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware, even paper towels, aluminum foil and hand soap. There was a nice Weber grill (the same one we have at home!) to enjoy burgers on. The owner was very friendly and made herself available without being in the least intrusive. The cottage itself was in the perfect location to make any part of the Cape accessible. We enjoyed the nearby antique shops and art galleries as well as the ice cream, beaches, and bike path. We would definitely recommend this rental property to small families. It was a great first family vacation!

Our family of 4 stayed here the first week in March. We had all the comforts of home. We also loved how close we were to the bike path. It's so convenient for biking, jogging, or just taking a peaceful stroll. Our kids had a great time at the Brewster General Store - it's absolutlely adorable. The property owners of are so great, the cottage is clean and well maintained, and we would recommend it to anyone we know. We really enjoyed our stay at this comfortable, quaint Brewster cottage!

We spent a long Memorial Day weekend sightseeing from these great cabins. Centrally located on the Cape, they are the perfect spot for traveling in any direction. We drove to P-Town one day, Chatham the next, and watched an amazing sunset in Falmouth the next. The cabin was spotlessly clean, quiet, and had everything you could need - and more. Evelyn was a pleasure to talk to - detail oriented - and answered emails promptly. Thanks!! We will definately be back!! :-)

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at your cottage. The location is perfect for exploring the Cape. The place was clean when we arrived. The kitchen was very well equipped with all that one needs to prepare meals, better than I have ever experienced with this type of rental. The Weber gas grill was a bonus. The Fish House in Brewster is an excellent place to dine, if you can get in. Great for a special occasion, or just to have a fantastic meal with good service.

This is a very good location for those wanting to explore the Cape. The cottage provides all things needed for a good base. There is an excellent patio/BBQ area which we made frequent use of and was a highlight for us. Comfortable bed, large fridge, TV - all things we needed. Would recommend to others wishing to see the Cape.

This is a comfortable little cottage that's very near the bike trail. It also has a nice patio that backs up onto woodland. Wild bunnies come out every morning. It's within biking distance to great Bay beaches and a short drive to Nauset and other ocean beaches. The one bedroom, and a separate fold-out couch, were perfect for our three-member family.

We went to this cottage for Memorial Day week end with our daughter and a friend. The cottage is very well located in Brewster (close to nice shops and to the sea) and very clean. The patio and the grill is a nice addition to the cottage when the weather is nice. The cottage is small for 4 but really nice for 2 or 2 plus children. It is reasonably well equiped. We had a wonderful time there. The cottage is close to other similar cottages. Our neighbours for the week end were nice and quiet so we enjoyed the stay very much.

They are in a beautiful woodsy setting and very quiet with a convenient loacation mid-cape. Owners Evelyn & John were wonderful and very accomodating to our needs. The cottage was just perfect for the three of us...great location, charming, clean, well-stocked, and very reasonably priced. Especially appreciated having the gas grill to use. The location is quiet and peaceful, with easy access to Hwy 6A, beaches and bike path...among many other things, we took in a Whitecaps game, went to Provincetown to whale watch (wow), had lobsters, visited the natural history museum, and spent a lot of time at the nearby beaches. Oh, and of course spent some time at the great little bookstore on the corner. Weren't sure what to expect, but we had fantastically wonderful and relaxing week--highly recommend!

We had an enjoyable stay in this charming little cottage June3-June10. Nice for a couple or a small family of 3 or 4. Guests are thoughtfully cared for. It is clean, has all the amenities one could think of and is tastefully decorated with a comfortable, homelike feeling of the shore. Having never stayed at this end of the Cape before, it was fun to see the area we have heard about. Sadly, we only had one day of sunshine , but we were able to fill our time and build lasting memories. Thank you.

Quiet, safe, comfortable....this cottage was the perfect place to relax. An interesting art gallery is across the street. Several restaurants are within walking distance. The Brewster beaches are sublime. Modern, clean bathroom with tile floor. Excellent mattress on the double bed. Fans were included - only needed them for a couple of warm nights. Clothes rack for drying bathing suits & towels. We were very happy here. I highly recommend this cottage.

This cozy, well equipped cottage served as the perfect place for me to recharge my batteries during a recent off season stay. The owners are very attentive and have added all of the touches of home including a down quilt for chilly nights, books and videos for rainy days, and all kinds of kitchenware for those nights that you'd like to cook in. I would highly recommend a stay at the Salvadore's cabins and am looking forward to my next visit!

After staying in Cottage 49, we can vouch for all of the positive comments we saw in the Guest Book! Our additional "two cents": we are nature-lovers who used this cottage as a convenient base for visits to South Beach, Monomoy, Nauset Marsh, Wellfleet Bay Sanctuary, the Cape Cod Natural History Museum, and the National Seashore. The plants and birds around the cottage were interesting too. As there are three cottages on this property and the off-season rates are so good, we think it would be a great place to stay with birding/bicycling/ botanizing friends who enjoy the Cape in the quieter spring or fall.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy cottage in the cute town of Brewster. In addition to being in the perfect location for visiting the entire cape, we found Brewster, Chatham, and Orleans to be charming. It is just a stone's throw away from the bike path. Going to Provincetown for a whale watch is quick and easy and heading to Falmouth/ Woods Hole or Martha's Vineyard was great fun. We'll definitely be back!
