Welcome to our mountain retreat in beautiful Vail, Colorado. This large (1,800 square feet on two levels) three-bedroom, two bath penthouse condominium is located in the Interlochen condominiums in West Vail.
This unit is completely renovated, featuring all new slate flooring, carpet, bathrooms, kitchen with granite slab counters, custom alder cabinets/trim/doors and high-end stainless steel appliances, and new furniture throughout. High Speed wireless available. This condominium is a private family retreat and is not regularly rented. This unit sleeps 8 comfortably in private quarters (two in king-size bed in the master bedroom, two in queen-size bed in the guest room and four in the bunk beds in the bunk room). There is also a crib available, if needed.
The main level features a large, open, two-story living room (all leather furniture) with picture windows facing Gore Creek and the mountains beyond and sliding door to the back deck, the dining room, kitchen, bathroom, bunk room, guest room and coat closet with washer/dryer.
The entry way on the main level features a new slate floor and ample hooks and storage for ski coats, boots and other gear. The kitchen is a full-sized, completely new (2005/2006) kitchen, containing slab granite counters, stainless steel appliances (refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, oven and microwave), wine rack, all cooking supplies and full service (glasses, silverware, etc.) for 12. There is a new gas grill (BBQ) on the back deck. The kitchen contains a wide granite bar area with seating for four, and the dining room table can accommodate six.
The upper level contains the master bedroom, private in-unit sauna, bathroom, a small children’s play area (games, toys, and playpen available for your use) and a balcony reading area which overlooks the living room. The upstairs bathroom features an extra-large shower with four showerheads and skylight. Top quality new mattresses, with all linens (including down comforters) and towels, are provided.
The living room contains a 42 inch flat screen TV, and additional TV's are located in the master bedroom and guest room. Cable TV is included, as well as a selection of DVD’s.
The large upstairs master bedroom features a king-size bed, closet, dressers, armoire (with TV/VCR/DVD, phone and printer/fax), built-in bookshelves, and a stowaway trundle mattress under the bed which can be pulled out for use by children.
The bunk room contains two sets of bunk beds and a separate closet. The guest room contains a queen-size bed, dressers, TV and separate closet, and features custom alder French doors to the entryway and a separate sliding door to the front deck.
Located within the Town of Vail in the area known as West Vail, approximately two miles from the Cascade Ski Lift (the closest lift) and four miles from the base area at Lionshead.
The Town of Vail’s free shuttle bus stops at Interlochen, providing regular transportation to the slopes and to the core village area in general. The Cascade Ski Lift is only a few bus stops from Interlochen, and offers full access to all of Vail Mountain’s fantastic skiing.
The shopping area of West Vail (containing two large supermarkets, several liquor stores, Starbucks, restaurants and other retail) is located about one mile away. Interlochen is located on the Town of Vail Bike Path, which runs for many miles along Gore Creek, and in the summer offers a great way to bike into the village area or, going the other way, to bike along Gore Creek into the nearby Town of Minturn.
Interlochen is also located directly on the banks of Gore Creek, and the rushing water of the creek is a great sound as you sit on the back deck and relax.
The portion of Gore Creek which runs through West Vail and along Interlochen has been designated as "Gold Medal" waters for trout fishing by the Colorado Division of Wildlife in recognition of the extraordinary fishing which is available. Children can play in the grassy (summer) or snowy (winter) areas along Gore Creek and in the Interlochen courtyard.
