'Shared Dream' at 93 West 2nd Street.
This new, luxury townhome is located at Folly Beach's newest development - Water's Edge, a cul-de-sac community of Charleston-style townhomes. Water's Edge is located on the beautiful and scenic Folly River, just a few short blocks from the beach and eclectic town of Folly. Folly is a beach town with a laid back island charm, known by residents as the 'Edge of America.' It is a family beach community with undeveloped parks on either end of the island and a newly-enlarged recreational boat landing just 1 block from Waters Edge.
Our Three Bedroom, Three Bathroom, 1600 square-foot townhome sleeps eight (upstairs, there is a king in the master and a queen in the guest bedrooms; downstairs, there is a queen in the bedroom and a queen sleeper sofa in the den). The home includes many upgrades including hardwoods throughout, granite countertops, ten-foot ceilings. A screened porch on the main level and a second-floor balcony off the master bedroom provide beautiful views of the marsh and river. TVs in each room.
There is no end to the fun and activities your family and guests can enjoy. Start the day with a slow bike ride around the island or on the beach (bikes are included for your use). If you prefer, you can walk to the beach and soak up the sun and expansive surf of Folly Beach, where you can rent jet skis, surfboards, windsurfers and sailboats. Or you can take advantage of the family-friendly 1,000-foot fishing pier, also within walking distance. Of course, you can also stay right at Waters Edge, which includes a community pool and a community dock, both great places to enjoy fabulous sunsets over the Folly River. You can always explore the quaint town of Folly Beach, and its surf shops, great seafood restaurants, and local bars. Or take the short 10-15 minute drive to Charleston and enjoy all it has to offer - history, culture, antebellum mansions, world-class restaurants, and nightlife.

The owners made our perfect family vacation come true. The unit was clean, well equipped, beautifully decorated and in a perfect location for a quiet family getaway yet close enough to all the action. Folly Beach is a quaint little island with plenty to do. You never have to leave the island. Everything you need is within walking distance including great restaurants and small bars for the nightlife. Just off the island are all the stores you need along with historic Charleston. My 2 year old grand daughter, 23 and 28 yr old children and ourselves all agree it is a must to return next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Bonnie and Donald, thanks so much for the kind words!! We're glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you back soon!! Kevin and Carrie

When we first arrived at the property there was a small problem, but after a phone call to the owner was quickly resolved. The property was as described and made an excellent location for our family vacation (6 people). The property was well deorated and had just about everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Seems kettles are not as common in the south as this was the second property in two weeks that didn't have one. Boiling water in a pot for tea works though. The location was very good with just a short walk to Center Street with all it has to offer and down to the beach. We dined at several of the local restaurants and cafes and can certainly recommend the Wich Doctor, Lost Dog Cafe, Rita's and the Grill on the Edge. Would I stay here again, recommend to a friend? The answer is a definite yes.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Gordon, thanks for the great review and the feedback - we'll definitely get a kettle! Kevin and Carrie

Todd is wonderful to deal with......The townhome was very comfrotable and nicely furnished. We have stayed in other Waters Edge units and this was the nicest and cleanest. We enjoyed our stay of 6 weeks and hated to leave. We definitely have fallen for Folly Beach.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Folly Beach is a small beach town just outside of Charleston with a definite Key West feeling. Beautiful beaches, friendly vacationers and a "downtown" of only two blocks, it was definitely the type of vacation community that I was looking for. The townhome was immaculate and well furnished with beautiful hardwood floors and a deck overlooking the water, hence the name, Water's Edge.. The community that the townhome was located in is a relatively new community with, once again, friendly outgoing residents and vacationers, all very laid back, enjoying the small town ambiance that gives Folly Beach that unique "glad you are here" feeling. I will definitely be returning!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This was a lovely clean place when we arrived. Very spacious so the four of us could all spread out. I loved the high ceilings. It had all the amenities we needed. The screened porch was my favorite place for morning coffee and evening cocktails .... so peaceful! This townhome is located in a small, upscale and fairly new community near the sound. It was very quiet at night and the pool was wonderful -- only a few hundred feet from our door. Just beyond the pool is a great dock to fish from - no luck catching a fish, but it was fun! We walked through the cozy neighborhood of lovely beach homes and in 3 short blocks you are in the heart of Folly Beach. We picked up a few things at Bert's, the organic food store across from the beach. The Lost Dog is a must for brunch - try the french toast with fresh strawberries or shrimp and grits - so delish!! Black Magic Coffee Shop is a great place to pick up a good cup of coffee on your way to the beach - they also serve breakfast and lunch. Favorite place at night was Rita's with great seafood and live music. Our young adult family members enjoyed the bar scene in the evenings - it was loads of fun. Every place has outdoor seating and dress was always beach casual. The beach was amazing - if you go to the right of the pier, the beach is less crowded however, no life guards there. The pier is gorgeous at night all lit up! We kayaked on the sound one evening and it was wonderful to watch the dolphins and birds. Folly Beach has a great feel of a cozy quaint beach town with just enough to do to keep things interesting but not too commercial. It is also a great place to do absolutely nothing!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This property is beautiful and very spacious. Even though it is several blocks from the beach, the walk was not bad. We will definitely be back. Just beware the "drive" outside of the garage is not considered parking, even for a small car.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great stay at this beach house. It was in walking distance to Folly Beach although we did not walk. There were also many restaurants and shops in walking distance. The home was extremely welcoming. The decor was warm and friendly. It was overall very modern and sophisticated. My bed was very comfy and the rooms were a nice size all with their own closets. I was surprised to find a bed instead of a futon which the website described. The bathrooms were clean and we were provided with plenty of towels and washcloths. The view from our balcony was pleasant and the screened in porch was a nice place to sit outside. We also enjoyed the large garage and had no issues on our stay. My only suggestion is to add blinds to the bedroom downstairs. This is where I slept and I saw numerous passersby through my bedroom window. Hopefully, they couldn't see me!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Battyann, we're gald you enjoyed your stay and thanks for the suggestion - blinds are up in the downstairs bedroom!

Thank you for a wonderful stay on Folly Island! This was our first trip to SC, and loved being so close to both the beach and Charleston. Your townhouse was beautiful! Loved how it was decorated and the fun colors. Perfect for a larger group (we had 4 adults and 5 children). We spent lots of time on the porch overlooking the salt marsh and walking on the fishing pier. The kids had a ball at the beach and the pool. Fantastic restaurants, both upscale and beachy. Thanks for the wonderful accomodations!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Susan, we're so glad you enjoyed your stay!! Hope to see you again in the near future!

We just returned from our first visit to Folly Beach and were pleasantly surprised at this quaint little beach town. We absolutely loved this home! It was very clean and had lots of room with plenty of linens, bikes, beach chairs, grill & so much more. We are not fishermen but we loved watching all the fishermen off the dock and seeing what strange things they would catch. The Folly Beach Pier is just a short walk away as is Center Street (the street with all the happening places). We enjoyed Loggerhead Restaurant and went back several times. We also loved Woody's Pizza. I would highly recommend this to someone else and would love to stay there again. Thanks for such a memorable family vacation!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
