We can only repeat all the marvelous attributes about the the owner's vacation home, the Papakea property and about Magnificent Maui. We couldn't wait to enjoy the view every morning from the lanai and went to bed every night toasting the same. We strongly recommend this unit for the breathtaking view, excellent condition and overall convenience (groceries, sightseeing, etc.)

We stayed for 10 days and could have easily stayed for 10 more!! Our family of four was very comfortable in this very clean and very well stocked condo and the view is to die for!! Everything about our vacation was perfect from waking up to the sound of the crashing waves each day, to lazing by the pool, to playing mini golf competions, to watching the sunset from the Lanai each night. Papakea Resort is wonderful and well maintained. We can't wait to return!!

Our family of five stayed here in the latter half of August 2011. We were so impressed with this unit! It was clean, well-stocked and organized; the furniture was clean, functional and high quality. Everything about the condo unit is in excellent condition. We were in Maui to attend a wedding, and of the 50 other guests who attended and stayed at various units in Papakea Resort, this was the best one by far. Three separate air conditioning units ensured every room was comfortable to sleep in. The password door lock (keyless!) was very convenient. The view is this unit is unsurpassed and worth every penny you will pay for it! The crashing waves can be seen from bed in the loft--a wonderful way to wake up! Papakea Resort is calm and well-maintained. Quiet hours are strictly enforced so you will not be kept up by loud neighbours. The waterfront is also very private compared to the neighbouring resorts.

Incredible Island, Incredible Condo, Unforgettable Vacation

We stayed in this beautiful unit in July. What a gorgeous view, in the evening we could sit on the lanai and watch the sunset. The property is well kept and beautifully maintained -- the pool and hot tub a great place to relax. Loved the multi-zone A/C in the unit -- everyone was able to stay comfortable. Also, there is a travel planner available in the lobby everyday. She was wonderful and helped us plan our entire trip the day we arrived, so no valuable vacation time was lost searching through brochures and calling for reservations, she took care of it all. We're ready to move to Maui...if only we could.

oh my the condo was excellent and quite big. our family of 4 had a ton of room. We just loved the space. Papakea was excellent as well. having a pool was extra fun. being in west maui near shoping and basic supplies made it all easy - big fun was the Jazz Cafe across the street. Find Yoda if you can!

The pictures do not do the view justice. The moment we opened the door we were welcomed with bright sunshine and a beautiful view! When you're up in the loft, it almost feels like you're on a cruise ship since all you see is ocean out front; that's literally how close you are to the water. The place was super clean and comfortable. Plenty of grills near the pool area and a grocery store close by. The only thing I would say is observe the check in and out times. It didn't even occur to us that our flights didn't align well so we spent several hours locked out. The view was worth it all though!

Lou and Patty, We recently spent 10 days at the Papakea Resort and loved your condo...(sensational views and fourth floor location). Probably one of the best units in the place. My wife liked the well stocked kitchen as well as the cleanliness of the entire condo. We found the sleeping arrangements to be perfect for our family of four...the AC units are a nice touch too. I don't think we left one inch of the island untouched this time either! We went scuba diving and snorkeling, drove the road to Hana (and came back around the SW side), went up on Haleakala, and drove most of the West Maui coast. As always, lots to do and too little time. We also enjoyed the pool side BBQ one night. We met another couple staying at the Papakea...they wanted to see your condo as a comparison to the one they were renting. Let me just say, they were impressed and will be seeking you out in the future! Thanks again to your attention to detail in every respect! Mahalo!

Three lucky mothers,(my sister, my daughter and myself),spent a wonderful few days in this gorgeous condo..Everything was exactly all we could have asked for and more,and Lou the owner was great to deal with through the whole renting process. The unit is very comfortable,and has been completely updated,and furnished beyond our expectations.We have rented from owners before and have been disappointed on occasion, so this was a nice surprise.On my next visit to Maui,there is no question but renting the same unit ,and if my husband is a good boy, I just might bring him along!!!

No better way to spend a month!

We returned to this wonderful condo again this year--another month in paradise!! Watching whales and dolphins from the lanai, happy hour on the lanai, warm evenings eating on the lanai and people watching during the early morning (from the lanai of course). Getting off the lanai, we enjoyed all that the resort has to offer--the hot tubs, swimming pool, immaculately landscaped grounds, For us, there is not a better resort on Maui. Everything you need is close--groceries, restaurants, snorkeling. The condo has been renovated, is fully equipped and very comfortable (guaranteed by the AC). Our family has been guests here for three of the past four years--will we back--you bet!

Christmas in Paradise

Our family had a wonderful time at Papakea. We have stayed at the resort 3 times because of its location on the leeward shore of Maui (read nice weather), access to great beaches for swimming and snorkeling, the amenities at Papakea and the proximity to Lahaina. This condo was by far the best we have stayed in with its ocean front view where you can have breakfast and watch the whales jump. It has clearly been recently re-modeled and has air conditioning which not all of the condos have. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and although there isn’t a beach on the property, our teenagers had a good time boogie boarding just down the shoreline. With a grocery store just across the street, we also took full advantage of the condo's kitchen and BBQs by the pool to take a break from eating out. If you are internet dependent like our family who brought three laptops, the free wireless wasn’t screaming fast but let everyone stay connected during downtime between activities. We enjoyed interacting with Lou and Patty and will definitely contact them for the condo’s availability the next time we head to Maui and highly recommend you do the same.

When we opened the door we knew right away we had chosen the perfect spot to stay in Maui. The condo sits right on the beach with views from the lanai that are magnificent. For someone that loves to cook the kitchen appliances are great and the kitchen is extremely well supplied with utensils, glassware,etc. I recommend checking out what is already in the unit before going to the grocery store you may find what you are looking for is already there. There are also beach chairs, snorkels, fins, etc. Within walking distance you will find plenty of shops and restaurants, The only complaint my husband had was the tv reception is poor. Not that we watched a lot!

As soon we entered the condo the five of us had the SHOCK of our lives. The most spectacular view of Molokai, Ka Oholawai, and Lanai right off of the lanai. See the picture above with the rainbow, that's exactly the SAME PICTURE we took from the lanai of this condo. Lou & Patty has done a remarkable job furnishing this condo with a fully set up kitchen. Top of the line appliances, well stocked with everything a 'cook' would require. All you have to do is buy the food. The beds & furniture were extremely comfortable & best of all, the condo is right on the beach. Mahalo, Lou & Patty, for creating such a beautiful place for others to enjoy. Maui No Ka Oi

A Fantastic Condo with a million dollar view!!

We loved everything about the condo! It had everything you could ever need right down to the snorkle and beach equipment to the kitchen with all the bells & whistles. The view was incredible, the sunsets and the sound of the waves were unbeatable. Everything was perfect and matched the pictures and description accurately. The condo was clean and modern and we would definately recommend both the resort and this condo. All of our friends and relatives that came over to visit agreed and we cannot wait for another opportunity to rent this unit. Papakea is a pefect location, close to stores and markets but far enough away from the traffic of the highway. Its central location is only a short walk or drive to the shopping & tourist areas and the many beautiful beaches of Kaanapali. Lou & Patty provided us with all the information we needed to have a wonderful vacation, they answered our questions quickly and it was everything we had hoped for and more. We loved the food at Dukes, Bubba Gumps and Roy's as well as LuLu's. We took a tour and went to the top of the volcano and rode bicycles down to the bottom and also did the Road to Hana (a tour as well). Both were excellent. We also spent alot of time snorkling and swam with the sea turtles at Kapalua and Honolua Bay which was one of the many highlights of our trip.

A home in "paradise"

This was our second stay at Lou and Patty's condo. We brought our daughter and grandchildren this time. Everything is perfectly set up when you arrive. There is nothing you need. We stop at Costco when we arrive at the airport and we are all set for the week. We did eat breakfast once right next door. It was great. There is so much to do within walking distance to the condo. We spent a lot of time out by the pool and had fun doing our bbq's out there. We attended the Royal Lahina Luau, which is very family oriented and enjoyed it more than more expensive Luau's in the past. "UFO" parasailing was great for children. The afternoon snorkel trip was wonderful on the "Four Winds Two". It was not choppy at all. The best part was sitting on the Lani and watching the sunsets and listening to the beautiful ocean. Lou and Patty take good care of you from start to finish. They have everything you need to complete your perfect vacation. We can't wait to go back.

What a fantastic condo ! Lovely, expertly maintained grounds throughout. Condo was spacious, comfortable and what a view ! Nothing broken, everything in perfect working order. With the beach right in front who needs anything else. But right next to this building there is an outdoor pool, jacuzzi, cabana and lots of propane BBQ stations - & they provide the propane too. When we return to Maui, this is where we want to stay! Great value for the price - great for families, couples, honeymooners - for anyone! Thanks so much. PS: TV works great; watched World Cup as I looked out over the ocean!

Exceptional Experience

This is our second stay at Lou and Patty's condo and we loved it just as much the second time. The unit is very clean and inviting and super well stocked with all the dishes and towels and sports gear and etc. etc. you could imagine. The Papakea in general is beautiful and the resort is very well maintained. This unit is right on the water, which also means that you only hear the beautiful sounds of the ocean and not the rest of the resort. Because of it's location, and the way the resort is laid out, you feel like there are only a few people staying there - it's wonderful. Lou and Patty are absolutely a joy to work with, and you can trust them to deliver what they've promised. You are close to Lahaina, Ka'anapali, and Kapalua. We recommend Napili beach for swimming and snorkeling, especially around to the next bay over (turtle town!!) which is very quiet and protected in the summer. Also, the best value on Maui is the America II sailboat- it's a blast. We highly recommend this to you all. Oh, and did I mention the new air conditioning that they had installed in the living room and the loft area?! You don't need it on too high, but we found it to be very quiet and pleasant when we wanted to close the lanai sliding door. And yes, the sunsets are fantastic from the lanai. They happen directly out in front and light up the whole sky. Awesome!

I would highly recommend this property. The location, right on the ocean can't be beat, the grounds are beautiful, clean, quiet. Within walking distance to grocery store, ABC store and new restaurants. This unit has everything you would need and then some. We were there for a wedding this time so we actually didn't get a chance to take advantage of all that this unit has to offer. Working with Lou and Patty was easy. The have done a wonderful job of updating this unit

Wow, you feel like the ocean is right in your living room! We stayed here from Jan.10-17 2010, and it was wonderful. Well-appointed condo with lots of little extras (boogie boards, snorkeling gear, coolers for picnics) and lots of grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance. Papakea resort is lovely and whale watching from the lanai was out of this world. We would strongly recommend a stay here. Lou and Patti were lovely to deal with; very helpful and well-organized.

We stayed in this unit 10/8/09 - 10/15/09. We loved the accomodations especially the updated kitchen. You are so close to the ocean that you will hear the waves as you lie in bed. Every morning we walked about 75 yards from the condo and snorkeled with our children. It was a great start to each day of our vacation. It was also nice having beach toys, some snorkeling gear, and boogie boards available in the unit. We will definitely stay here again if ever in Maui.

I was very happy with this particular condo. Clean, spacious, fully stacked kitchen, and best of all the view from the balcony (lanai) was 100% oceanfront. I most enjoyed eating breakfast everyday on the balcony, hearing and watching the waves go by. Thank you Lou and Patty for sharing the condo. I miss Maui already.

5/20/09-5/28/09 The unit was exactly as described. We stayed at Papakea last year renting a second floor unit in the same building. Having the master bedroom in the loft was much quieter. The kitchen was extremely well equipped as was the rest of the unit. We will definitely consider this unit again on our next visit to Maui. In addition, Lou and Patty were extremely accomodating honoring our request for a late check out. I highly recommend this unit and the Papakea resort. Mahalo!

This condo-home is the best. The unbelievable view is the highlight but the wonderfully appointed home makes the vacation effortless. This was my favorite vacation ever because of the beautiful accomodations. We liked the Papakea resort more than any other resort we've been to because it is lush and yet very private and less "touristy." I can't wait to return and I hope that Lou and Patty will let us rent their beautiful home again so I can bring my son and husband to see this wonderful place.

This is a great unit to rent. The kitchen is stocked with all the extras you will need. there was even a rolling pin and cheese grater!! The owners also supplied snorkel equipment, a cooler, extra beach chairs, basketballs, and many other other extras that usually don't come with a rental unit. The most impressive thing about unit L-404 is the view, absolutely gorgeous. We watched whale shows from the lanai every day. I can't wait to go back.

We found this to be the nicest condo and resort we have stayed at. We try and go once a year to the islands,and you never know what you get until you get there. This unit was so clean and had everything one could ever need.The location was great and the view, sunsets and looking at Lanai & Molokai. When we retun to Maui in 2010 we will stay here again, Lou & Patty did a great job on this condo. Mahalo Ted & Mary
