When you're ready to swim, surf, stroll on the beach, perfect your shell collection or just work on your tan, walk across the street to our private deeded boardwalk right over the dunes. S.O.S. features a great room, four seats at the bar, and a dining table for eight people. You can keep up with your favorite shows from 4 color cable TV's - 3 of which are Flat Screen TV's. The largest is a 37" in the family room! Bring your favorite movies for 4 DVD players, and your favorite CD's to listen to on the stereo. The furniture is comfortable and beautiful. There is even a local tide clock for you to enjoy. Wireless Internet! When you tire of surfing the waves, surf the Web!

I spent my childhood summers at Topsail Island and have many wonderful memories. You won't be disappointed with this special place and will make many magical memories of your own. If you like busy, loud, and over developed beaches, Topsail IS NOT for you -- Topsail Island is quiet, peaceful and uncrowded. Really, a throwback to beach towns from the 50's that simply don't exist anymore - except here! It offers a quaint beach town, with fishing piers, shops and galleries owned by Islanders, good seafood restaurants, and a relaxing, casual atmosphere. And best of all, it offers the beautiful beaches for walking, shelling, boating, surfing, and possibly seeing some Loggerhead turtles. (And if you don't see them during nesting season, check out our famous Turtle Hospital - kids love it!)
For a little more hustle and bustle, Wilmington and Myrtle Beach are fun day trips. Wilmington is just 30 miles away. Check out the USS North Carolina battleship and the historic district in downtown Wilmington, right on the beautiful Cape Fear River. Golfers will enjoy a large variety of first class courses.

I've stayed at S.O.S. a couple of times now and cannot wait to get back! S.O.S. has plenty of room for a big group and each room is very comfortable and well decorated. The rooms all have TVs and most (if not all) have DVD players. There is a large kitchen and living space. The couch and chair are comfortable and the TV is big. Wireless internet is key. The abundant porch space is really nice and you can see both the sunrise over the beach and sunset into the sound. S.O.S. is located right across the street from the beach. And the beach is never over crowded; however, if you want a livelier beach, you can drive up to Surf City. All in all, this is a great rental on Topsail. It comes highly recommended.

I am a return visitor to SOS and happy that I figured out how to leave a review! This beach property is the perfect accommodation for us! The beach is directly across the road, literally a 45 second walk! Furthermore, the beach in this area is not overly crowded which is nice and allows you to meet other families who are on the beach. This area is also nice if your looking for sharks teeth and sea glass! All bedrooms provide very comfortable bedding and the den furniture is also very comfortable. The large dining room table is great for our big family so we can all dine together. All appliances are in good working order and the large, organized, local information binder designed by the owner is a great resource for out-of-town renters. There is a TV in every bedroom and the TV in the den is large enough for everyone to see whether they are in the den, dining area or kitchen. The newest addition of the wireless network was a big hit for our 5 teenage girls! We will most definitely make every effort to return again next year if it isn't already booked.

My family recently stayed at the S.O.S beach house in topsail island; and we couldn't have been happier. This is no doubt one of the most affordable rentals you will find on the island, that can still accommodate a large number of visitors. The grounds are maintained very well, the bedding, kitchen, bathrooms, etc.. were all very nice and clean. The greatest asset to this rental is the location! Because you are on the southern most part of surf city (just before the topsail beach city limits) there aren't many houses packed in like sardines! The beach is literally right across the road, and can be enjoyed from the deck of the house as well. The view is very nice! Overall, our experience was such that we will definitely return to the S.O.S beach house for sure !! p.s. There is also ample parking for several vehicles in the rear of the building; this was something we greatly appreciated !
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
