What a beautiful setting! Now that I'm back in the 'burbs, my eyes are longing for those expansive vistas! Thanks to the owners & Timberline Realty for attentive service. House is beautiful, clean and cozy. Hiked Dolly Sods, Black Water Falls, and Lindy Point (not to be missed!) We'll definitely come again!

Included with our recent stay was plenty of snow, wildlife, peace and tranquility. This is a very clean rental with awesome views. The hot tub was exceptionally clean and warm. Thank you for opening up your house for us to experience. Would definitely consider renting again! Thanks again!

A beautiful house in a beautiful setting. The house is clean, nicely maintained, and well-furnished with a wonderful wood-burning stove. The abundance of windows allows for great views from within the warmth of the house. The owner is very attentive and even called the evening we arrived to make sure everything was okay. The house is a short drive to Timberline ski resort (longer than a short walk, but the drive is quick). Other winter activities are also close by. We really enjoyed the horse-drawn sleigh ride at Timberline Stables. My family and I had a great trip and would love to go back!

The location of the house is excellent, very private and yet close to the lake and a short walk or drive to the ski slopes. We had wonderful time and will be glad to go back again. The owner was vary attentive and accommodating. We saw plenty of wildlife from the deck.

Wonderful getting to spend the holidays at Canaan. I took a daily walk around the lake before settling in with a good book before the fire. Completely let down and relaxed. The snow was beautiful particularly on the long walks up in the Fish and Wildlife wilderness areas. The world seemed so at peace.

We loved our short or "mini" vacation here in your home (We come every year.) We were surprised by the snow before Halloween. It is a special time being with family and relaxing and enjoying the mountains.

We enjoyed a fun yet relaxing week in your lovely home. For several summers we have rented homes for our vacation. This has been a favorite. We spent our days picking blueberries on Dolly Sods, swimming, and using the playground at Canaan St. Park. We visited Blackwater Falls and rode ponies at Mountain Trail Rides. We had a daily friendly competition spotting and counting deer. We played games, read, and truly relaxed and spent time together as a fmily. Thank you for sharing your home with our family.

It was snowing like crazy when we got here. The house is beautiful as is the land. We had four small children with us and they took full advantage of all the hills they could find for sledding, the grown -ups had fun with the sleds also. We had a great time. Thank you

We had a good time at this cabin, and it is very close to the Timberline ski slopes. The kitchen and bathroom have new applicanes and fixtures, and the hot tub worked great! We even had deer walking through the back yard. A couple of things to consider is this property does not have an address that can be mapped with mapquest or google maps, making it some what harder to find. The other is that the driveway slopes down, if you don't have chains or 4 wheel drive you may be stuck unable to get you car out of the driveway. If you don't have chains or 4 wheel drive don't go down the drive way, you can park at the entrace to the conservatory and walk to the cabin (about 3 blocks).
Owner response:Thank you for the comments for the property. This helps us create even greater holiday experiences. A note about the address, none of the properties beyond the gate in Old Timberline can be individually found through Map-quest. The alternative, is to use Timberline Four Season Ski Resort as the destination since we are practically next door. When visiting the skiing high country of Canaan Valley, in January when heavy snows are predicted, it is advisable to check road conditions. The property in Old Timberline is on the valley floor, unlike most others which are on the side of the mountain. Even in this relatively flat terrain If snow is predicted, evasive actions should be considered.

My family enjoyed skiing, hiking and relaxing in the hot tub at this secluded cabin on the lake. The wood burning stove is fantastic as are the views. We enjoyed our stay immensely. However, the master bedroom could use a new mattress.
Owner response:The mattress has been replaced.

This is a great place to vacation with grandchildren. Surrounded by fields, woods, pond and lake. Very private, but convenient. Deer came right up to the back deck. Hot tub was great and one can use all the facilities at the lodge (pool etc). Very comfortable.

We spent a lovely long weekend at Touchstone in Jan 06. It was a delightful respite from the daily grind. A winter sunset from the hot tub was a sight to behold! I highly recommend it!
