La Tuilerie' at PROVENCE PARADISE is a 17-th century farmhouse, best suited for families and /or for groups of friends. This house sleeps up to 12 people and is part of a cluster of six old, provencal farm houses, with a total capacity for accommodation of up to 37 guests in our 'hamlet' at PROVENCE PARADISE.
In La Tuilerie, we offer one king-size bedroom with en suite toilette, shower and bathtub, plus one bedroom with two double beds and en suite toilette and shower, plus another twin-bedded room, which shares a toilette and shower with another king-size bedroom. Need even more space? For kids, there is an additional kids' sleeping area on the mezzanine level. For additional adults, we can add a very comfortable 'Guest Quarters,' with king-size bedroom and jacuzzi bath, just across the terrace from La Tuilerie. That brings our capacity for very comfortable accommodation to 12+.
A big fireplace is a central focal point in the indoor social area, along with a grand piano and a wet bar. Then, there is a very functional, modern kitchen, with even a provençal 'island' and rotisserie fireplace, with a large family dining table for up to 12 hungry eaters. Just outside, guests enjoy summertime, family life is on the large, outdoor covered terrace, with private use of a barbeque, comfortable seating for cocktails and games, plus a stone dining table seating for everyone. From this terrace, you can see the mill wheel turn.... something very special, indeed.
The large, 7x10 metre pool, family jacuzzi (both of which are heated year-round by large, solar panels hidden on our rooftops... looking straight up at the provencal sunshine!) and summer kitchen are just down an old stone stairway from this old farmhouse, as are the family game areas and sun/shade furniture for guests. La Tuilerie is a very private, family living area, with an old Roman wall and tall shrubs and trees, to assure privacy from the outside.
We rent this authentic, provençal farmhouse, so full of light, color and history, for week-long periods throughout the year, starting generally on Friday's.
Restoration of this 17-th century property involved two years of hard work, to create full-comfort indoor and outdoor living area which covers about 400 square metres. A true, labor of love! All the modern conveniences our guests would expect from a five -star property are brought together under one tiled roof. Walls are so thick that there is no need for summertime air conditioning. Be lulled to sleep by the cascade of water in the gardens and by the slow turning of the old mill wheel. Something magic!
Please have a quick look at our PROVENCE PARADISE website.
Property Location
'La Tuilerie at PROVENCE PARADISE' is the largest property in our restored 'hamlet,' on a hill just above the old town centre of Saint Remy de Provence. We are well within walking distance of all activities and shops,

Delightful apartment, charmingly furnished, comfortable and convenitent. An 18 minute walk into the village. The staff tries to anticipate your every need without intruding on your privacy. We have stayed here twice and count the days until we return. William, the owner, speaks 5 languages and is a built in concierge with info on places to visit, restaurants to try, roads to travel and local history. When you arrive, dinner in in the refrig., just pop it in the oven, open the wine and enjoy! There is also food for breakfast. We have traveled all over the world and used many apartments and Provence Paradise is THE BEST...Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stay at Saint Remy for one week at the beginning of September , 6 adults and 3 young kids. We found Provence paradise at the Internet, and decide to go there based on the great review on this site . Although we read about the place - how nice it is and the great hospitality, all of us were amazed from the beautiful house (Le Tuilerie) and we didn't expect such a worm hospitality. The fridge was packed with delicious food , which William made for us . William share his knowledge about the area , and was willing to help us in any problem. The place is equipped with absolutely everything one can need for a great vocation, and it was well organized for our babies. The week pass so quickly and all of us wish to go buck once again to Provence paradise.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.

9 of us rented this property for a week in September and we all had the time of our lives. The property was so well equiped, William our host has thought of everything. The entire house was spotless and every detail was perfect from the wonderful dinner waiting for us in the 'frig the day we arrived to the fresh croissaints delivered most mornings. I especially enjoyed the kitchen and dining rooms with their Provencal decor, .heirloom china and glassware. Large candelabras were on the table, and the lights were on dimmers to add to the ambiance. The bedrooms were spacious and with the thick stone walls it was quiet and comfortable with all of us in the house. William couldn't be more helpful. One of our guests had a medical situation and William drove him to the local hospital, we had a guest get lost, William was the local "search party" He couldn't do enough for us and always with a positive attitude. I have rental property in Colorado and am familiar with being an "Innkeeper", William surpassed our expectations, it's truly a labor of love for him. We all hope to go back next year.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My 3 weeks in the Le Tuileries "mas" was a Provencal Paradise. We were 3 generationsm with the number varying between 8 -13 people, ages 13 to 77. Kristi, 22 yrs, went from room to room shouting "I love it". Dinner was waiting in the fridge for the first night and William brought croissants many mornings. He was so helpful: a SIM card for my phone, computer connections, ideas for the days activities, direction, best parking spots, lunch or dinner reservations, if we wanted. Many guide books were around the house. The kitchen was VERY well equipped and all we needed was the days' food. He arranged an all day wine tasting tour and chef to prepare & serve a special dinner for us. Now and then he brought the local rose wine to the pool where we got to meet the other guests. I want to return as had other guests we met. Suzie St. Paul, MInnesota USA + Michigan and Minnesota families, 6 in each familyRecommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
Owner response: I think we had just as great a time with Suzie and her family as they did with us! Lots of curiosity about our PROVENCE PARADISE project, about things going on around here.... and there are lots! A real pleasure to "host" this family group from America!

I thought the Provence weather might be risky in March, but it was beautiful. Warm days with, almond and cherry trees in bloom everywhere, cool nights perfect for sleeping and enjoying the fireplace. Bill's hospitality was above and beyond, and he has worked very hard to make the property very comfortable welcoming. The great surprise was how everything was walkable from Provence Paradise. On the edge of the property is an old Roman aquaduct network with a walking path alongside. You can turn north and just walk into real, rural Provence countryside for miles, past old working farmhouses, horses, picturesque cows grazing along streams, orchards in bloom. Turn south and the path takes you around the edge of St. Remy de Provence and then turns west so you can use it to hike to the Greco-Roman ruins at Glanum and the hospital where Van Gogh committed himself. Another surprise was the ancient town in the center of the village. The "downtown" of St. Remy de Provence is defined by a circular street that goes around the oldest part of the village. On this bustling street was pretty much all you wanted - bookshop, tabac, numerous cafes, internet cafe (though Provence Paradise has wireless) etc. But inside the circle in the oldest part of town we found a smaller, more intimate places to eat and a wonderful, welcoming wine bar without another tourist in sight. I can't wait to get back!Owner response: And, we cannot wait to have you and your son Colin back, Tom! We have lots more historical documentation to share, plus a few bottles of that red stuff... in front of a nice fire.

Our group met for an idyllic stay at William's hamlet in early October, and we all want to return. "Wonderful", "relaxing", "welcoming", "great location" - were the comments from our 7 friends who vacationed with us, and we agree that it was a special place that far exceeded our expectations. William, thanks for a great holiday !Owner response: Thanks, Anne and Dave, for such wonderful organization! Your San Diego friends were fun to have with us...we look forward to greeting someday those who "chickened out" at the last minute! They seem to have found out from you exactly "what they missed."

What can we say from our PROVENCE PARADISE end??? These are great people, with Katie's super organization, folks moved in and out for 4- and 5-day stays. The Mills helped us to get to know their family and friends. It was a real pleasure to host and help all of them. That Finn...what a kid. We want him back here...with Mom and Dad, plus all future brothers and sisters!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had the good fortune of spending 2 weeks in September at the hamlet. I feel pretty fortunate to have "lucked" in to finding the place and it certainly not only met but exceed my expectations. The setting was ideal; a short walk from town and many great places to see within an hour. I loved the different nooks around the property to relax... on the deck, in the yard, by the pool. It was a great setting for a group as everyone could have their "alone" time while the house provided a great gathering place for some memorable group meals. William and his extended team's hospitality and willingness to help in whatever way (traveling with a 8 month old, we especially appreciated it!) was the icing on the cake but an important one. The advice on what to see and do was better than anything I have gotten at a hotel and really helped us get the most out of the 2 weeks we spent in St. Remy. Oh yes, and I really liked that you got the chance to meet the other interesting people staying at the "hamlet". We found it pretty ironic that our neighbor's were fellow Oregonians! William, thanks so much for making us (and all of our guests) feel so welcome, pampered and relaxed. We can't wait to plan the next trip. - Katie, Curt and Finn MillerOwner response: What really great people to have around! The mix of Katie and Curt's relatives and friends kept changing over the weeks...that's great, we just helped to change a few sheets and towels and welcomed some new faces! What organization! A very pleasant experience, indeed.

Talk about exceeding expectations. This was one of our best vacations in Provence. We stayed two weeks at Le Vieil Moulin. The house was beautiful, meticulously restored, very private, wonderfully equipped and oozing Provence charm. The grounds are exceptional and historic with a lovely pool, hot tub and small paths winding through gardens. The location is so convenient to St Remy and all the areas attractions and restaurants. William Moore and his staff were amazing. Thank you for the coissants at our door every morning. We certainly will return.Owner response: And, we certainly DO hope that you will return. That would be our pleasure. With so many friends vacationing in the area at the same time, you could take over the whole "hamlet" for a week next Fall!

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2005
About the owner: As a family, we discovered Saint Rémy de Provence, traveling from our home of 15 years in the northeastern part of France. We were looking for sunshine, friendly people, a new 'culture,'... and a challenging 'retirement project.' We came, stayed for a couple of days, then weeks... and now we hope we are here forever! Why move? The sun shines 330 out of 365 days a year, we can be outside (working and playing) in the garden about 10 months of the year, and the PROVENCE PARADISE 'hamlet' we have built is a place where our children and our grandchildren enjoy coming to visit. After all, that was the objective. Indeed, we are very proud of this 'hamlet,' created from what was 'one big pile of old rocks' only six years ago. A real, 6.5/7 day, 16/24 hour 'labor of love. La Tuilerie is the biggest of six long-abandoned family homes, which rose up again from pile of old rocks! Mission accomplished! AND, while accomplishing our family 'hamlet' goal, we discovered this whole new world of international 'innkeeping!' Year-around, thanks at first to VRBO and now often to 'word-of-mouth,' we receive guests from everywhere in the world. Some just come to relax by the wintertime fireplaces or by the summertime pool. Others want to discover the Roman ruins right here under our feet, to go off to the markets, the beaches, flea markets, auctions, vinyards, golf courses, even nearby ski slopes. All the same things that we also like to do; so we are good at giving suggestions! Never a dull moment at PROVENCE PARADISE... Yes, there is time for a siesta every once in awhile! After all, this is 'paradise' and we are 'retired.' We take this opportunity to invite you to come to experience for yourselves the fruit of our labor in the restoration of these 17-th century provençal buildings.
Why the Owner Chose St. Remy de Provence:
Sunshine, long season for outdoor life, very friendly people, historical attraction of the region and of our specific site, proximity to the centre of Saint Rémy de Provence, the advantage of being in the geographical centre of a region with so many attractions as those offered by Provence,... and most certainly, the challenge: first of the restoration project and now of high-quality innkeeping! We learn something new every day. Discover 14th century town walls. Then, look for the different, historic entries to the city, try any one of them as a starting point for your discovery of the shops, fountains, picturesque squares and historic buildings 'intra muros.' Remember to check out the menus posted outside of the many restaurants, too! Then, be sure to come back on Wednesday, when the whole village comes to life as the Provencal market rolls into town, quiet streets and squares become a thriving marketplace. There are still some bargains! Start out by stocking your kitchen shelves for your stay at Provence Paradise. Anyway, there is a bit of everything and everybody at the market!
And, what you and your family can learn!: The village of St. Remy stands on one of the oldest archaeological finds in Europe. The origins are Gallo-Roman from the 7th century BC until the 2nd century AD, at which time the Roman city of Glanum was founded. This was the origin of today's St. Remy de Provence. Our walls at Provence Paradise were built with stone original cut for Roman buildings and statuary. Then, there are the paintings of Van Gogh. You can follow the artist's path through the town and the nearby countryside, to view things still from his perspective...little has changed! Then it's time to venture away from St. Remy in the direction of Arles--the 'Rome of the North,' or Avignon--'City of the Popes,' or Orange, with its Roman theatre
The Unique Benefits at this Farmhouse:
We began our self-catering operations in the summer of 2006. Reflecting on the Guests' Comments available for review on our website and on TripAdvisor, the key benefits to staying with us at PROVENCE PARADISE can be summarized as follows:
*We speak lots of languages, know the local customs and understand our clients' expectations. The combination of these three factors can be very powerful!
*We provide high-end accommodation of reliable quality. Our modus operendi is 'discreet presence,' meaning we are there in a flash if you need us for directions or tourist information, for solving a problem, for a trip to the doctor and/or to the pharmacy, for finding lost luggage, and even for going to fetch those who get lost, etc.
*We cater well to two distinct clientèle...young family groups and adult travelers... and know how to keep the two separate and at a safe distance during what amounts to different travel 'seasons' throughout the year.
*We greet our guests personally, with true and honest enthusiasm, glad to see them here; anxious to have them dig into the dinner+drinks we have ready upon arrival, at the end of their long day of travel; prepared to offer advice on where to go/what to do, taking into account the specific dimensions of the family. And, we only say: 'please come again and/or send us other nice folks like you,' if we really mean it! In fact, that’s most of the time and about half of our guests reserve for next year before they even leave this year ... so our 'repeat visit' rate is nearly 70 percent.
*And finally, for us, inn-keeping at PROVENCE PARADISE is a pleasure. Showing our guests 'where it all came from…starting with Roman ruins,… and how it all got taken down and put back together...' is a source of great pride to our entire PROVENCE PARADISE Team. If you have some/lots of spare time, ask us to show you the photos and tell you our tales! There is a story under almost every rock!
