"La Tuilerie" at PROVENCE PARADISE is a 17-th century farmhouse, best suited for families and /or for groups of friends. This house sleeps up to 12 people and is part of a cluster of six old, provencal farm houses, with a total capacity for accommodation of up to 37 guests in our "hamlet" at PROVENCE PARADISE.
In La Tuilerie, we offer one king-size bedroom with en suite toilette, shower and bathtub, plus one bedroom with two double beds and en suite toilette and shower, plus another twin-bedded room, which shares a toilette and shower with a four-bedded bunk room. Need even more space? For kids, there is an additional kids' sleeping area on the mezzanine level of the bunk room. For adults, we can add a very comfortable "Guest Quarters," with king-size bedroom and jacuzzi bath, just across the terrace from La Tuilerie.
A big fireplace is a central focal point in the indoor social area, along with a grand piano and a wet bar. Then, there is a very functional, modern kitchen, with even a provençal "island" and rotisserie fireplace, with a large family dining table for up to 14 hungry eaters. Just outside, guests enjoy summertime, family life is on the large, outdoor covered terrace, with private use of a barbeque, comfortable seating for cocktails and games, plus a stone dining table seating for everyone. From this terrace, you can see the mill wheel turn.... something very special, indeed.
The large, 7x10 metre pool, family jacuzzi (heated year-round) and summer kitchen are just down an old stone stairway from this old farmhouse, as are the family game areas and sun/shade furniture for guests. La Tuilerie is a very private, family living area, with an old Roman wall and tall shrubs and trees, to assure privacy from the outside.
We rent this authentic, provençal farmhouse, so full of light, color and history, for week-long periods throughout the year. Off-season rates are very attractive and include "weekend SUNSHINE breaks" and/or séjours shorter than a full week.
Restoration of this 17-th century property involved two years of hard work, to create full-comfort indoor and outdoor living area which covers about 400 square metres. A true, labor of love! All the modern conveniences our guests would expect from a five -star property are brought together under one tiled roof. Walls are so thick that there is no need for summertime air conditioning. Be lulled to sleep by the cascade of water in the gardens and by the slow turning of the old mill wheel. Something magic!

We are literally in the middle of Provence, with mountains, the seashore, museums, provencal markets, cycling and even...cooking classes and wine tasting... within easy access.
Sunshine guaranteed, interesting sight-seeing, fine wines and dining, a warm jacuzzi year-round, huge pool and terraces,... Our guests come from all around the world. We speak many languages and are here ready to help you to LOVE PROVENCE...just like we do. To re-create our "hamlet," we have completely refurbished five other provençal farmhouses from the 17th century. Others include "L'Orangerie"(VRBO #79365), which sleeps 4, plus "Le Vieil Moulin" and "La Tour de la Girouette" (VRBO #78417), which sleep 6 and 8 respectively. Just down the hill our guests also stay in "La Bastide des Micocouliers" and "La Pierre Milliaire"...on the other side of small streams which flow through the gardens toward the watermill and cascade to make the wheel turn slowly.
This property was recently awarded a FIVE STAR classification by the French Board of Tourism.
Specifically, "La Tuilerie" was built literally room-by-room, starting in the early 17th century (1621). This was the farm home of the owners of a small factory authorized by a patent from King Louis XIV to manufacture roof tiles and bricks. Restoration of this property involved reconstruction of the entire roof and much of the interior walls, floors and windows. Inside, we have built and furnished an authentic provencal, full comfort living area.
"La Tuilerie" is a large, family house, with plenty of space outside, too, for drinks and dinner plus memorable summer evenings, with the mill wheel in sight. We think we have a unique location and offer very special accommodations and facilities. We live on-site in the "hamlet," albeit at a "discreet" distance. Speak many languages; so communication should never be a problem. We are present and active in further restoration work elsewhere on the property, as well as in gardening and maintenance of our "hamlet." Ready to help you make your sejour in Provence a positive and memorable one, we invite you to peruse the website listed in this announcement and to contact us soonest, if you have questions. Come see for yourselves. And, thanks for your interest in our "hamlet"--"Au Moulin Entre Deux Mas" (translation: "At the Mill Betwen Two Old, Provencal Farmhouses." Hope to see you here one day soon! |
