This 700 square foot rental unit called the "Coconut Corner" is one of the nicest rentals you will find on the Windward side of Oahu — a king size bed, A/C and LCD TV in the bedroom, full kitchen and a lanai —and it is offered at a wonderfully affordable price. This large vacation rental is in a quiet residential neighborhood just a half-mile from the access to a beautiful sandy stretch of Kailua Beach. It is close to a neighborhood shopping center with restaurants, shops, liquor store, bank, gas station and a grocery store.
Kailua town has many different restaurants and places to shop. There are businesses that offer kayak, kite surfing, and wind surfing lessons and rentals. There are wonderful hiking trails nearby and waterfalls.
Kailua is only a 20-30 minute car ride to Honolulu and Waikiki, yet offers a completely different atmosphere from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Many of our guests enjoy making some of their own meals, even firing up the barbecue to cook up their own special dinners.
Our rental is smoke free and we ask that our smoking guests smoke outside only.

We stayed at Coconut Corner for two weeks in February 2009. The other times we have been to Oahu we have stayed with family in the Kahala area. We have since had two more children and were looking for someplace for all five of us to stay. This was perfect. The description provided is right on. There were no surprises, Greg and Cindy were helpful and kind while providing privacy. Our children, ranging in age from 3 - 8, loved Zippy the cat and still talk about him now. One of the best things about staying in Kailua is that you are forced to explore the island! We took the Pali and/or H3/ Hwy 72 more often than when we stayed closer to Waikiki and never got tired of looking at the scenery. We had a great time, this was the perfect place to stay and introduce our children to Hawaii.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We enjoyed our stay very much.. The kitchen was excellent and we used it every day. The out door space is excellent. Enjoyed breakfast there every day. It was great to have everything there for us to use to travel to the beach and take day trips. The laundry was the best, we did not need to pack as much for our visit. Thank you very much for making our stay such a wonderful one!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The property description was completely accurate. The location is in a residential part of Kailua a little less than a mile from beach access. An easy walk to the north end of Kailua Bay beach. Also walking distance to a Safeway and a couple restaurants and coffee shop. The neighbors and everyone else we encountered were warm and friendly. Dogs barking, kids playing. Amenities all as described; WIFI worked fine and the bed was comfortable; all the kitchen appliances one could want and all very good quality, clean, and in working order. The entire apartment was very clean and the hosts were friendly and helpful but respectful of privacy. Kailua is a lovely place to stay on Oahu if you want peace & quite and are trying to avoid the traffic of Waikiki or Honolulu ... and the crowds. It’s also perfect as a springboard for the rest of the island and sights on the North and East Shore. There are plenty of restaurants in Kailua (one of our favorite being Buzz’s) and activities and probably one of the best beaches on the island. There are also some nice drives nearby and places to hike.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children.

Coconut Corner was very comfortable, well-equipped, and made a great base for enjoying the beautiful beach in Kailua and for exploring Oahu. Although it is only a 25-minute drive from Honolulu it is like being in a completely different (and much better!) world. Greg was very accomodating and helpful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children.

We stayed at Coconut Corner between April 1-8. We had a great time. The hosts were always available when we had any questions. The only things is that there's a lot of dogs barking early morning, I had no issues since I had ear plugs but my husband did have a difficult time sleeping-in in the morning. That was really the only complaint that we had, there's everything at your disposal. I would definitely recommend Coconut Corner.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great time staying @ coconut corner! The cottage was most clean,comfortable,turn-key and ready for guests...We found the beach right away, and later walked over to safeway market,as I love to cook.I was happy to see the BBQ...lots of extras. There was even an umbrella,it came in handy when we went to Polynesian Cultural Center,it did rain alot that day.The last night we were there the power went out for a short time.Cindy & Greg were most helpful, they made sure we had plenty of candles & checked on us to make sure all was well..I found it very helpful to have the laundry facilities available. If we go back next year I will look into returning here.Mahalo to Cindy & Greg....Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

When we left the below zero degree weather in Alaska, my two teenage daughters and I were already predisposed to the idea of enjoying a relaxing Hawaiian vacation. Rather than having to fight Honolulu traffic, high rise condos and crowds of people, we stepped into what really felt like our home away from home. Located in a quiet residential area, we found the Coconut Corner apartment to have everything we needed: Fully equipped kitchen, clean, cable TV, books, movies, laundry access and use of beach coolers, toys, lounge chairs and snorkel gear. Greg and Cindy welcomed us on arrival then gave us complete privacy to enjoy our vacation. We’re already anticipating our next visit to Oahu and we look forward to staying at the Coconut Corner again. Five stars, highly recommended!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Coconut Corner was exactly what we were looking for. Nestled within a quiet community street to give you a sense of living with the locals. The home is well equipped with nice extra's in the kitchen. Satellite TV in the bedroom and living room (nice to have if you have young kids who are in for the afternoon nap). Our 18 mo old loved the toys that were at the place and there is a good quality playpen/crib we used. We always look for small homes for vacations as we like to cook our own meals and stay away from tourist hot spots. I felt Coconut Corner had very good value for what we needed. Greg and Cindy are very courteous and friendly. Although the Coconut Corner is attached to the main home it is very private. If you want to put yourself in a nice area where everything on the Island feels close Kailua is the way to go. The whole place feels like a different world in comparison to the pace of Honolulu (which isn't really that crazy, but it is a large city nonetheless). Also, the beach in Kailua is a gem. For anyone with toddlers, check out the Discovery Center for kids in Honolulu, the train at the Dole plantation is pretty sad but cool if kids like trains. We hung out a lot on the North Shore. Fun little towns and beaches all over the place. Thanks again for everything Greg and Cindy! J & A Delta, BCRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children.
