Why the Owner Chose Williamsburg
I bought in Williamsburg for those family times with young grandchildren when they start asking are we their yet I could say ALLLLLMOST and mean it. One hour travel time from Richmond 45 miles away. Williamsburg has so much to do for all ages that I thought it a perfect spot for vacationers, history, entertainment, relaxation and good restaurants.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
I do like to stay in condos while traveling because it is so nice to be able feel at home. With everybody getting up at differant times you don't have to rush because someone is hungry or hasn't had thier COFFEE. I like to eat out because I love good food but I also enjoy cooking and eating MY OWN COOKING. The savings on food can pay for half the cost of the rental. I bought my fist timeshare in St. Maartin back in 1984 and never looked back. So please keep renting from me it is cheaper than buying RETAIL and you do not pay the maint fees during the years that you are not vacationing
I-64 take Exit 243 From Resort take 199 around the city and follow the signs. about 20 minutes avg. time
nice ride along the river on the colonial Parkway. about 1/2 hour. go to the end of the waterfront road to the bikerbar and have the CRABCAKES. Plenty of Park Rangers and Benz's along with Harley's

My Wife Aida and I are retired and living in Southwest Florida. looking to relocate after four years in Puerto Rico I was missing the boating world. If you have suggestions on the west coast communities let me know. After 50+ years in Virginia the beautiful springs were not enough to keep me away from the 8 months of wonderful weather here.I will miss walking the beach in the morning looking for SEAGLASS, but will not miss cleaning the salt spray from the night before during the mid day. Taking care of my emails in the afternoon before going for a sunset walk. I do enjoy sending people on vacations as I have always loved traveling myself. Aida loves to experiance new places but wants "beam me up Scotie" to get her there. Cabo san Lucas and St. Maartin are among our favorite long distance places. There is no prettier place than Virginia during the spring! I visit Williamsburg for several weeks each summer as I use it as my homebase when visiting family in Richmond.

We had a great stay! It was like having home away from home for our time during homeschool week! The rooms were spacious and we loved having a kitchen too. We had a little bit of trouble getting housekeeping to attend to a toilet issue....but they eventually came. In spite of that, I would totally recommend and would want to stay here again. Oh, and a special thank you to Bill for answering all my questions so patiently!

I would like to personally thank you for the wonderful week we spent at this resort. The pictures didn't do the place justice. It was simply gorgous; way beyond what I was expecting. We enjoyed all the homeschooling activities in the area the week we were there. This resort was close to everything. Thank you for your generosity. Your willingness to share your property with others has made it possible for our family to follow our calling of homeschooling and to be able to afford to take advantage of such a wonderful educational opportunity. We just returned from our week at Williamsburg. The resort was perfect. Very clean and close to the historic sites. You can't go wrong for the price.

As a former resident of Williamsburg, my time is spent visiting friends rather than being a tourist, but Powhatan is a perfect location for tourists. Close to everything! I would have been leary of the price had I not been already familiar with the property. Do not hesitate to rent this property from Bill. Be sure to request a renovated unit. Ours backed up to woods and was very private. A lake view would be awesome too. We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the day. The bed was the most comfortable we've ever had in a vacation rental. Our only problem was that the internet signal was so weak, we were unable to connect during our stay. Fortunately, B&N is not far away and provides free wi-fi. (Note: internet access is not included in the rental and must be purchased separately - just be aware that signal strength may be an issue.)

Williamsburg vacation at the Powhatan

My extended family and I stayed at the Powhatan in mid-August. The resort was amazing, with plenty to do for a family, including my daughter -- swimming, tennis, racquetball, movies, games to borrow, etc. We purchased the bounce pass and explored Williamsburg and the parks. The condo itself was clean, spacious, plenty of cooking equipment. We ran out of bathroom tissue at one point, and I called guest services and tissue was delivered within 5 minutes. The grounds are beautiful. Bill was extremely helpful during the reservation process. We will be back!

I was originally planning to stay at the property 8/27 - 8/30. However, because of Hurricane Irene it became clear that we would need to change our travel plans. Bill was extremely accommodating and was able to change our reservation to a 8/29 check-in. While half of Willamsburg was still without power, the Powhatan resort was up and running. Obviously, the check-in line that afternoon was rather long, but it was very efficient. I belong to the Disney Vacation Club, so I am always hesitant about staying at other properties outside Disney, but the Powhatan Resort was very nice. The 2BR condo was spacious. The bed was comfortable and the appliances appeared to be new. The hot tub was a bonus. The grounds were nicely maintained and there were staff working from 7am - 5pm to clean up the ravages left over from the hurricane. The pool area was very nice. All of the staff were very professional and courteous. The resort was within easy driving distance to all points in and around Williamsburg. The only thing that I felt could be improved on would be the changeover to all flat screen TV's. Actually, this was more my husbands comment. This stay was very affordable and I can't thank Bill enough for changing our reservation. I was very worried that we were going to be out of our vacation all together. My only regret is that we could not stay longer. There are so many things to see and do in the area. We will definitely return and we will definitely use this property again.

This was a great place to stay with kids. The condo was very comfortable and spacious. Having a furnished kitchen made meal and lunch prep easy, and cheaper. Could have used more cooking spoons and tools, and kitchen towels but excellent cookware was provided. We also enjoyed having a hot tub just for the unit. We will definitely recommend this place to others and consider a return visit.

We had a wonderful stay at the Powhatan Resort - Thank you Bill for all your help - The service was great, the grounds are beautiful and most of all the 2-bedroom condo that we stayed in was very comfortable (there were 6 of us). Williamsburg has a lot to offer and wish we had more time to explore (we stayed a week). Would definitely consider staying here again.

First I must say, that I was a bit leary that because of the price, the condo would not live up to my expectations. However, it exceeded my expectations. From the moment we walked through the door all you could hear were the ooohs and ahhhs of my family. The condo was beautiful, and had a wonderful view of the lake, actually it was sitting right on the lake, close enough for us to feed the geese and turtles from our balcony. The kitchen had all them ammenities you could need, even a cork screw!! We purchased a bounce pass, and went to Busch Gardens, Water Country, and Colonial Williamsburg. We also spent time in the pools, and rec center on the resort. We had a wonderful time and we WILL be recommending this resort to all of our family and friends. Thank you Bill, for helping my family enjoy an affordable vacation in a beautiful place!

Stayed at Powhatan Resort from July 31- August 5. It was everything that was advertised. A beautiful property that was very clean, and well maintained. The location was great for Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, Colonial Williamsbug, and Jamestown all with in 10 miles. We definitely plan to visit again!
