Lory Cottage sits at the end of Green Valley Lake Lane and looks down on the lovely two acre lake. The cottage is surrounded by softness and solitude.
At night her lights reflect on the water, and in the daytime she catches the valley breezes. Two stories with two bedrooms, Lory is cozy and completely furnished for your getaway.
A covered porch downstairs and a sundeck upstairs connects you to the outdoors. Your private hot tub seats five adults and is on a deck outside the great room, and has a great view of the lake or the starry night sky.
Lory has a fully equipped eat-in kitchen with electric range and oven, refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker, and utensils, pots and pans, and silverware. The full bath downstairs has a roomy four foot shower. The great room has a TV with a DVD player, gas fireplace, and a stack washer/dryer.
Upstairs you will find two bedrooms,both with a queen-size beds, and also a half bath. Both bedrooms also access the large sundeck that makes a great place to soak up some sun or stargaze on a warm summers night. All linens and towels are provided.
The two acre lake is stocked with bass, bluegill, and catfish and adirondack chairs are provided lakeside. There are several marked hiking trails on the property and a bonfire area with firewood is located by the water.
We also have two bicycles in the summer for you to enjoy biking on Green Valley Lake Lane. The property is gated for your privacy and a key is provided so you may check yourself in any time after three in the afternoon and checkout is any time before noon.
Spend a day at the lake boating or fishing. Go for a hike on one of our trails or take a bike ride. Build a campfire and wish on the stars so within your reach here. Be a kid again and spend some time at Lory Cottage. You will not want to leave!!

We stay at this lovely home every 6 months or so. It is "our vacation spot". I can't say enough about how relaxing and wonderful this place is. Once you close the gate behind you its like leaving the world behind. You are transformed to another place and time where the cares of the world don’t matter. Our yellow lab knows when we get close and gets so excited about being back at Green Valley. She loves it there as much as we do.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, age 55+.

My boyfriend rented the Lory Cottage as a getaway for my 38th birthday. But he came home my fiancee! This was the perfect setting for him to propose--very secluded, romantic. The scenery is breathtaking. I will never forget my 38th birthday or our engagement. I cannot wait to return as husband/wife.

This was the most relaxing weekend that one could have imagined. A birthday gift for my boyfriend and he was totally relaxed. Couldn't have done any better with the way the cabin looked and the comfort we felt while we were there. Can't wait to do it again in the warmer weather.

March 12th-14th was our first stay at Lory Cottage.It will not be our last.It was the most relaxing getaway I've ever experienced.The cottage is wonderful.Nicely decorated,homey,serene.Every morning to wake up and listen to the birds,the geese,and look out onto the hills of trees was breathtaking.Enjoying coffee on the upper deck,shortly followed by a calming yet refreshing hot tub dip.So many things to do,trails to explore,the beautiful lake,the amazing sky.Watching my dog chasing a flying goose,or swimming in the lake.I own my own business and barely find time to unwind.Lory Cottage gave me such a feeling of serenity and a feeling of being right at home,unlike hotels or lines at airports for other holidays.I thank the owners for having the insight to bring such a place to life.I'll be visiting Lory Cottage a few times a year from now on.the greatest place for stress relief in the world.....I'd love to tell those of you new to this site to turn back....I'm selfish and want to keep it for myself!Those of you who truly want to find the perfect "getaway".....Green Valley is it.

From Our Guest books at Green Valley: March 30, 2005 It's a lovely, cool, sunny day in our charming woodland retreat. Once, many years ago, I owned a cabin in the woods in Md. and had to give it up for many reasons. I dream of it still. This cottage reminds me of all the best memories of my early adulthood. So quiet, so tranquil. This is a blessed, enchanted place, out of time. My husband and I and our small dog, all enjoy the natural setting. We hope to return soon. Thank you, for sharing the magic with us. It's almost time to return home, but I will keep Green Valley in my heart, comforted by knowing it is here waiting for our return again in the near future. The lake, the woods, the creek, the bluebirds, all the creatures of the forest...We have found and experienced a profound peace here...enjoyed by the three of us...such comfort, so much lovliness, we are grateful for this discovery....Until we meet again. Guestbook Lory Cottage - Nov. 20, 2005 : We get to share our 3rd stay at Green Valley with our 11 month old son. Nothing compares to seeing a child discover all that this world has to offer. I can't wait until he is old enough to go running through the woods with his old man. This place truly has become a safe haven in our busy lives. I hope everyone that comes to Green Valley finds the peace that we have here. It's nice to know that in a world that moves far to quickly, there is still a place where time stands still.
