  my husband & i stayed at le maree for a week & then were joined by our friends the second week. the property is beautiful (inside & out)~the owners, joe & daniela could not have been more gracious~daniela met us & spent much time with going over everything, providing us with recommendations to restaurants, etc...~the caretaker on the property & his family were all incredibly helpful, never making us feel as though we were bothering them~the only issue we had was with the pools on the property (& the reason why we are giving them 4 stars instead of 5)~we were advised right away by the owners that the pools at that time of year (after the season), would not be taken care of of, so we could not use them-no problem-we decided we still wanted to rent this beautiful villa-however, the problem was that the water in the pools was stagnant & attracted so many bugs, making it impossible to sit outdoors & we had make sure all doors & windows were closed so the bugs did not come in the house~we were disappointed as we would of loved to be able to sit & enjoy the outside a bit more~the other "nuisance" was the noise going on next door-there was work being done on that villa & there was lots of noise all day long from the workers~our suggestion would be to drain the pool if it is not being taken care of & to inquire if there will be any construction work going on while you are there...having said all this, we would not hesitate to return to this amazing place & to recommend it to friends!!!

  Owner response: Dear Al and Fausta, thanks a lot for posting your review on our property in Porto Cervo following your staying in October. We are sorry for the nuisances you are mentioning. About the work in process in the neighbor house I remember they had to intervene immediately to prevent further damages; there is indeed a rule in the residence that works have to be performed during Winter but in that particular case the Administration authorized the works due to the emergency of the situation. As far as the pool, as anticipated to you at the time of the booking, the pool is serviced from May to September and of course, when pumps are not operational, the water becomes stagnant just after few days. In this situation some bugs may happen. It seems that the pool has to stay full of water all the time and the process of draining the pool is done at the beginning of May before filling the pool with new water. We are happy anyway that your review is overall a positive one and you would recommend a vacation at Le Maree Thanks again Joe and Daniela

  The whole family stayed last year and hence we decided to reniew our beautiful vacation. Thank you again to Family Borroni for welcoming us so warmly and having all ready in the house. Most of other properties we have looked did miss some points. Here we feel at home and the house is very well located. A must have a look.

  My family stayed at Le Maree two summers ago, so this is late. But I've always meant to post a quick review to say how much we enjoyed our stay here. And as I start thinking about plans for next summer, I realized it was time. The place itself is very nice and comfortable. But we chose it because of the property and pool and couldn't have been more pleased. We spent more time outside than in, enjoying the grill, patio and pool. The location is convenient to beautiful beaches. But the reason we'd book again when in Sardinia are the owners who made us feel entirely comfortable, and gave us local tips for restaurants and helped us to hire a boat and captain for a day of boating to La Maddalena islands. Overall an excellent vacation we hope to do again sometime.

  This was our fourth holiday in Porto Cervo and by far the best thanks to Joe and Daniela and their beautiful villa "Le Maree". We have stayed at some of the nicest places in Porto Cervo including the Cala di Volpe but nothing compared to "Le Maree". The VRBO description and photos did not do it justice. From the moment we arrived we felt like we entered paradise. The views, pool, garden, villa far exceeded our expectations. It is an ideal location for shopping, beaches, restaurants. marina's etc. It was therapuetic just waking up in the morning to the spectacular pool and view. We enjoyed wonderful nights outside on the veranda with great food, wine, champayne and pure happiness. Meeting Joe and Daniela made our stay even more special. They made sure we had everything we needed to make our holiday as relaxing and comfortable as possible. We had a problem with our rental car and since we do not speak fluent Italian, Joe was so kind to handle the situation for us. We will always remember "Le Maree" as one of our most special holidays in Sardinia.

  Our family...three generations...spent two weeks at this lovely residence in August, 2010...it is a very comfortable house in a gorgeous location...everything that was represented to us was accurate...the house is within easy walking distance of Porto Cervo, while at the same time being in a very private, gated community...we enjoyed our visit very much...

  I just spent a week at Le Maree and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a much more relaxing experience than staying at an overpriced posh hotel in Porto Cervo. The villa is beautiful both inside and out and the location is great. Morning and evening dips in the pool with views of the ocean put me in a relaxed mood, and evenings of red wine, champagne, and homemade food on the patio outside didn't hurt either. Le Maree is located a short walk from Porto Cervo and Porto Cervo itself is obviously the heart of Costa Smeralda. For me this made it a great place to explore both Porto Cervo and Costa Smeralda from. I would recommend Le Maree for people looking to avoid posh overpriced hotels full of noisy holiday goers.

  This beautiful property was everything I had hoped for and more. The interior is so pretty and welcoming. The views are amazing. The privacy is FABULOUS. This is a quiet, gated community in decadent Porto Cervo-the nicest area on Sardinia. Our days started with a jump in the pool followed by lunch on the beautiful terrace-mozzarella, wine, fresh bread and fruit. After our afternoon nap, we would hop in the car to buy a gelato and visit a different beach every day. I highly recommend visiting from 4-8 to enjoy the golden sunset. We were also fortunate to meet the owners who were as lovely as "La Maree". You must try dinner at "La Vecchia Costa". A great recommendation for family dinners by the owners. "La Dolce Vita" would be a great way to define our vacation. I hope you're lucky enough to visit one day.
