This house is THE ONE!! I have been coming to Duck with my family for 20 years and this is by far, the best value and home you can find. I have stayed here twice, and the house is always impeccable. It is obvious that the owners take a great deal of pride in offering their home to renters. The furnishings are bright and very comfortable and the kitchen is well-appointed. There is a tremendous amount of space on three levels. It is perfect for two families, or for a large extended-family vacation. The owners have really outfitted the house with beach equipment, games, books, etc. You just need to bring your family and have a perfect vacation!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, pet owners, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

I highly recommend Sound Lodge as your "home away from home" when you visit the Outer Banks. The house is spacious, immaculate, and beautifully appointed with the comfort and conveniences of home. There are roomy spaces for socializing as well as quiet spaces to retreat for privacy. The location provides lovely views of the sound with the ocean only a short walk away. I look forward to staying at Sound Lodge for the third time this spring.

My family and another family just came back from a week at Duck. We stayed in this lovely house. The moment we walked in we could tell that a lot of thought and love went into making this a home not just a rental property. Lots of nice personal touches. The house is in a very nice secluded neighborhood, nice and quiet at night, but also within a half hour drive of shopping and resturants. The weather was fantastic and we had a great time in a beautiful house!
