Perched high above beautiful Tomales Bay, Ravensview Cottage is a private and quiet retreat, "so close...and a world away". Only an hour north of San Francisco, you'll feel you've traveled to a remote and hidden paradise. West Marin is largely agricultural, dotted with dairy ranches and small, quaint towns, and is the home to Point Reyes National Seashore, one of the most beautiful national parks in the country.
There's an endless list of things to do nearby, from feasting on "the best BBQ oysters on the planet" and kayaking (just steps from the cottage), to taking all-day guided trips of the park by foot or boat, or getting a massage at nearby Osmosis, or spending the day in the wine country. Without leaving the cottage -- or your private hot tub -- you'll gaze at the Bay to your west, and pastureland to the east and see a variety of domestic and wild animal life - from the resident ravens and great blue herons, to grazing cows and the occasional bobcat, fox or wild turkey.
The cottage is cozy and warm, but spacious in design and feel, and features many hand-crafted artistic details and lovely interior furnishings. It's perfect for two and can accommodate a family of 5. There are two beds downstairs (a queen and a single) and another queen bed in the upstairs loft. We are pleased to be family and pet-friendly. Well behaved and quiet dogs welcome.
The fully-stocked kitchen has all of the supplies you'll need and want, including complimentary fixings for complete breakfasts. There are some great restaurants nearby, too, including the new widely acclaimed "Nick's Cove", just 8 minutes away. Many guests prefer to BBQ or cook at the cottage. You have many choices.
Most of our guests tell us they wish they'd booked a longer stay. Do give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the peace and quiet beauty between adventures. It's hard to leave, once you're here! If you must bring some work with you, you'll have wifi and free phone service to make it easy.
