We stayed at Bailey's Mill for the Thanksgiving week. Plenty of wildlife to enjoy as well as being very peaceful and relaxing. Two canoes for river adventures and a large dock for fishing and bird watching. The house had everything we needed and was exactly as promised. Clean - very well kept up to date - and comfortable. Our two boys really enjoyed themselves and said they wanted to bring friends along next time. The small town of Woodbine is quaint, but we spent the majority of our shopping and restaurant visits on Amelia Island and in Jacksonville - which are easy daytrips from Bailey's Mill. Plenty to do and see.

Thank you for sharing your amazing piece of heaven here on earth with us. My family and I all enjoyed a wonderful time at Bailey's Mill. We enjoyed the tranquility of the peaceful nature that surrounds the house on all sides, whether you were looking out the kitchen window or the large glass opening in the back of the house, the view was spectacular! The outside deck proved to be an excellent place for reading a great book and enjoying a morning cup of coffee. The floating dock was most memorable at midnight on 12/31/2012 when we all wished each other a Happy New Year. We were able to enjoy wonderful dinners together using the fully stocked kitchen and gas grill. The owners were most accomdating and very easy to work with. The experience was a great getaway for my family and I and gave us a way to reflect on the past. We couldnt think of any other way we would have wanted to bring in the new year! Thanks again for an amazing time and we will definately be back!

This will be our fifth year at Bailey Mill. Definitely a piece of heaven on earth. The perfect place to mend your spirits and heal your soul. Peace and quiet are the order of each day with plenty of fun mixed it. Canoeing, fishing, exploring, it's all available right on the property. For those that enjoy privacy, it's here. Check it out for yourself. If you need more stimulation, it's all within 30 minutes away.

We spent our 19th anniversary at this wonderful place. The house is spotless, well kept and has everything, and I mean everything you need, except yourself. So you need to go. The river view and the raw untouched nature that surrounds you is exactly the same scene that Bartram saw when he crossed the river a few miles up over 200 years ago. We stayed a week, and left the house for only a few hours for more food. Had it not been for that, we would have spent seven days without seeing another soul. that is heaven to me. There is no TV, and you do not need it. There are endless opportunities for self entertainment and outright gluttonous relaxation. If you stay there and find yourself bored, that is your fault, this place is designed to delight you with it's silent peace and wonderful vistas. If you never stay here, you have missed a rare treat that this world does not often offer.

We live on the coast of Georgia but were looking for an opportunity to spend some time on the river and "getaway" for a while. We picked the perfect place in this up-to-date, clean, and comfortable home. We spent two nights and three days on the property and, as we had hoped, did not see another person on the river (during our many canoe trips) or around the property (though we rarely ventured far). The remains of the mill and docks on the property were fascinating and inspired us to think of the many different people who lived and worked on the site over the years. Wildlife was plentiful, and the river peaceful. It was a very nice change of pace that I would recommend to any other local or traveler.

Our family consisted of two parents, a grandfather, and two young children. Everybody in our group enjoyed Bailey's Mill. Mom was thrilled with the immaculate cabin, fully outfitted kitchen and laundry room. Dad was excited about the canoeing and exploring. Gramps enjoyed sitting on the dock trying to catch some fish. Our son (7) loved exploring the mud flats across the river as well as trying to find evidence of the former mill and our daughter (4) loved running up and down the dock and playing on the front porch. We did feel the need to keep the life preservers on the children when they were on the dock (the river current is quick) and to keep our eyes on our daughter when she was on the second story front porch (wide slats).

Owner response: The photo you sent of your son was priceless! Next time, take advantage of the sandbars just downstream at low tide. Surprising that the 7-year-old was in the river in February, but the weather is warming up for a return trip soon, we hope. Charlie & Tricia

This is our third year at Bailey Mill. There is no other place where you can leave all your worries behind for a week. The home is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Every need has been thought about and addressed. The beds are very comfortable with plenty of linens provided. The river is amazing and the provided canoes are a great way to experience it. The large property provides days of exploring and hiking. The information guide provided by the owners in the home when you arrive gives a real head start to planning your outings. You can be as busy or as non-busy as you want. This is truly a retreat and we highly recommend Bailey Mill to those who are looking for a relaxing experience.. We are planning our next stay already!

My family and I have been regulars at Bailey Mill for nearly 15 years. We saw it as it grew slowly and carefully into the nearly perfect place it is now. It has a peace that is difficult to describe, and a meaning to our family that is deep and everlasting. I encourage you to try it, especially if you enjoy comfort within a near-wilderness.

What an amazing retreat away from the busy everyday. The property is amazing and the view of the flowing river takes all your worries away. Great vacation to get away and recollect your thoughts!

Bailey Mill is one of the best vacation places our family has had the pleasure to visit. Two trips have left us with many wonderful memories, lots of laughs, time spent reconnecting with family and friends, lots of time canoeing and convenient day trips to Savannah (for haunted pub crawl and historical sites), St. Simons Island (for golf), magnificent Cumberland Island, and into St. Mary's for fishing the charming downtown shops and the terrific food at Mary Ann's Stirling Southern Cafe.
