Little Torch Key house description
Come stay at Barry Beach and enjoy some island time.
This cottage was built in 1965 and still looks original on the outside, but has been updated inside for your comfort. The ground level house is painted in bright tropical colors to give you that that old island feel. This spacious 2000 square foot house has plenty of room to spread out. On one side are 2 large king size master bedroom suites, each with a connecting bathroom. On the other side of the house are two other bedrooms (one with a queen bed and one with two twins), and these two bedrooms share a bathroom. All this overlooks the fenced in pool area and Pine Channel. Out front is 200 foot dock for mooring your boat, with dockage for 2 boats and with 4' minimum depth at low tide. There is water and a hose at the end of the dock for washing your boat and cleaning fish at the end of the day.
From Barry Beach, it takes only minutes in your boat to get out front to Looe Key and American Shoals, and has easy access out back to the Gulf and the Content Keys. Whether you are diving, fishing, kayaking, or just going boating, you'll find it easy and quick to get to your destination.
So just relax on the pool deck and watch the sunrise or moonrise over Pine Channel. You can grill your catch of the day and dine outside at the tables in front of the pool and enjoy the fantastic view. This house is truly set up for waterfront living at its best.
We are a legal weekly rental and are licensed with Monroe Courty to rent daily, weekly and monthly.

A Wonderful Vacation!
A Wonderful Vacation!
This was our fourth family summer vacation in the Keys, and our first time staying at Barry Beach. We were so happy with everything this home had to offer! The view of the water was just amazing! The children absolutely loved the pool and we made use of it several times a day! What a nice treat to have two master suites, so each family had their own private area. The house is very spacious, plenty of room for everyone! We really enjoyed watching the "neighborhood tarpon" visit as the guys cleaned their fish at the end of the dock. There are plenty of opportunities to explore the area, and Key West is about 30-40 min away, perfect for a day trip. The owners/property manager were just great to work with. We look forward to staying at this wonderful place again!!

Perfect House, Perfect Location
Perfect House, Perfect Location
Our family just returned Saturday from staying at Barry Beach, and I must say that it is a perfect house and location. We've stayed at several other houses throughout the keys over the years, and none of them even come close to this house. The house was immaculately clean, and well stocked with all of the essential items one needs for a week or two in the keys. Even with several couples and two babies, the house felt open and airy. The owners have taken great pride in the house, and have made it a perfect getaway spot to relax and unwind. The location couldn't be better. A quick 30 minutes from Key West, and the shortest boat ride possible to Looe Key and great fishing spots. We plan to return again, possibly as soon as the fall, and will definitely be using this charming house again. Travel tips: The Butterfly Garden in Key West is a great diversion from the heat, and definitely consider eating at Square Grouper on Cudjoe, The Wharf on Summerland, and Geiger Key Smokehouse.

Owner response: We appreciate your comments about your stay at our Barry Beach house. Since we live nearby, we are "hands on" owners who spend our Saturdays cleaning the yard and doing what we can to help get the house in tip top shape and ready for our arriving guests. We also have a great property manager and terrific cleaning crew whom we trust to take care of the house as if it were their own. We all work together to try to provide a clean and comfortable house that meets all of your needs while on vacation in our beautiful Keys.
Wonderful place !
Wonderful place !
This was our first time staying at this property, but will definitely not be our last ! It has all you could ever want for your vacation. I mean, how many places can you walk a few steps and be in your own private pool...and also look at the Gulf of Mexico at the same time ? It is convenient to everything..not too far from Key West. We were worried prior to arrival that the online photos would not accurately depict the place, but, no worries ! Beautiful colors inside and out..emmaculately clean..couldn't ask for more. We are already thinking about next year !

This house has got to be the best place to stay in the Keys. Quiet, comfortable, secluded and exceptionally clean. The house is wonderful and looks like it has been built in a tropical garden. The water behind the house is crystal clear and the sunrise is spectacular. We could not have asked for any better. Thank you so much for making our vacation so perfect.

Owner response: Thank you so much. It's always a pleasant surprise when someone takes the time to sit down and write a nice review. We do our best to try to anticipate the needs of our guests while they are staying at Barry Beach and know that an important part of an enjoyable stay is a clean house and surrounding grounds.
We stay in the Keys every year & are in love with Little Torch. This is by far the nicest home that we have rented. The floor plan is perfect for a larger family, the views are amazing, and it is appointed very nicely. It certainly exceeded our expectations & we hope to return again. My son caught his first mahi while we were down there & boasts this was the "best vacation of his life"! We hope to return again in the future. Sincerely, Marianne Ellis

Owner response: Thank you so much. We appreciate you taking the time to write this nice review. We always try our best to make Barry Beach the perfect Keys vacation home.
We have rented this house several times when we bring family from Europe and friends from Ohio. I love it because I grew up on the neighboring island of Big pine Key in the '60's and '70's. This house reminds me of that time in the Keys, when life was sooooooo laid back. It has such a fun decor. This pristine home looks new and clean and bright and cheery, but definately has that funky old time Keysy feel. Great restauration job. One of the best rentals we have ever seen in the Keys! Sunday Brunch on Little Palm Island is a MUST!! Captain John Sahagian of FUNYET Charters is one of the best guides in the Keys and is right next door. We have fished with him for 27 years.

Great Keys rental
Great Keys rental
We stayed here two years in a row during the Christmas season. The pool is great and very warm even when the weather wasn't too warm. The house is beautifully decorated and very clean. Any problems encountered were swiftly fixed by owners who live nearby. This rental is great for two families since they have two kitchens and two family rooms. We liked the water view and the ability to use the kayaks when the days were calm. We will rent again!!!!

Little Piece of Heaven
Little Piece of Heaven
Barry Beach is by far the best get away my wife and I have ever had. Everything that we could ever had wanted or needed was there. The owners/property management has thought of it all. The description and pictures do not do the place justice. I have recommended the property to family and plan to return for another getaway. Nearby, you can snorkel at Bahia Honda or at Veteran's Beach. The location is ideal, just far enough from Key West to be quiet, yet close enough to make the most of your time there. Grab a slice of Key Lime Pie from Blond Giraffe, sit on the pier, and watch as the tarpon swim right under your feet.

Best vacation home
Best vacation home
We have rented this beautiful vacation home multiple times in the past 4 years. The house is immaculate and can accomadate families very comfortably. The kitchen is fully equipped and great for entertaining. The pool is a fun for kids, and being on 1 level makes it easy for elderly persons to get around. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation in the Florida Keys, I can't say enough about this house. We can't wait to return next year.

Year Purchased: 2002
About the owner: My husband and I both grew up in Northwestern Wisconsin. We owned and operated a fishing camp in Red Lake, Ontario, Canada for 24 years, during which time we made the Keys our winter home. We sold our business in 2003 and now reside here full time.
Why the Owner Chose Little Torch Key:
We fell in love with the property and liked the idea that the house was an older, ground level building. It reflected what the Keys may have been like 40 years ago before all the development. Not to mention the vacant lots on both sides that allow for the property feel so private, even though it is close to so many amenities.
