We can't stop telling friends and colleagues about this great house! All the reviews here on the website are true - it's a perfect family gathering place. We had two families with four kids ages 7-10. They had a blast running around on the beach and the dunes, collecting shells and watching dolphins. And Mike and Erica have done a wonderful job of taking care of this great house and making it the perfect place to gather once everyone is tuckered out from the beach. Within a day of arriving the kids were already asking to return next year, and I hope we do!
Owner response:Thanks Kevin....glad you guys enjoyed it. We enjoy the same things....our kids are about the same age as your kids and they also love to run and play all over the beach.

Whatever you want to accomplish on your beach vacation, this is the house for you. We rented the house for spring break with the kids but we had the house to ourselves for one evening and we entertained my parents another evening before the kids arrived. On the last night we kicked the occupancy up to nine. The house works for romance, elegant entertaining, pandemonic spaghetti dinners and poker games and everything in between. This is our second beach rental and we were so much more satisfied with this house than our first rental. This was in part because this house was so much better equipped and supplied but mostly because of our dealings with the owners, Mike & Erica. Their personal touch made it feel like we were guests in their home rather than their customers. The home itself is right on the beach so the views, sounds, and smells are amazing. It is very nicely furnished and in great shape. You are a short walk from the pier where you will find more amazing views and a great happy hour at Eric Ericsson's (try the ahi poke tacos with a rye ipa). The house is very close to shopping if you need anything but also isolated once you're there. And I'm not just talking about the Von's. There is amazing local produce and seafood just minutes away. Also, if you need some wine, check out The Cave where we were both impressed with the selections and prices. We had a great time and are already talking about coming back. In short, we can wholeheartedly recommend this house. The only downside was having to leave at the end of the week.
Owner response:Thanks Arnold...nice write up. Cheers, Mike

We stayed at this home for Christmas 2011 and it was beyond perfect. The house is gorgeous & has everything you need. The gas fire pit in the backyard soooo nice. The Ventura weather was perfect.. The view of the islands magnificent . Worth every dollar... We will be returning soon.....thank you Erica & Mike for sharing your wonderful home. We have stayed at quite a few VRBO homes but this has been the best!!!

While some might wish for a well-timed snowfall as they eat their thanksgiving dinner, we had the privilege of enjoying an incredible meal with family and friends amidst the sounds of waves crashing and the view of an incredible sunset over the pacific ocean - right outside our dining room window. A short vacation in this fantastic home was just what the doctor ordered. There is so much to be said for being able to relax in the living room next to the fire, while also watching the kids play in the sand 20 feet away. Everything about the house was great... kitchen well equipped, dining table able to fit 10 people, nice bedrooms and incredible views! We will be back...
Owner response:Thanks guys.....glad you enjoyed it. See you next time. Mike

I can not say enough glowing things about our time at this Ventura beach house. It truly is a special place. Its decorated so lovely, has such a wonderful layout with huge rooms and tremendous space. The kitchen is fully loaded, so cooking for the kids was always easy. The kids movie selection and beach toys galore at the house was unreal. The location itself is truly priceless, you are right on the most fabulous beach, with friendly people, and soft sand. We all had a glorious, time - were able to walk to shops and do cookouts with such ease. We hope to return as soon as possible and can not WAIT to go back!

Our family really enjoyed staying here- we book all of our vacations through VRBO and this property was one the best. The location is incredible and there are views from every window. Erica and Mike have put thoughtful details throughout the home to make it very comfortable- for example- toys for kids, extra blankets, large pieces of serving dishware, lots of beach toys, strollers, games, etc. We will definitely stay again!

We spent 10 amazing days at this wonderful home.....our 2nd visit and we're already planning our 3rd! There's something for everyone here.. we had family members and friends ranging in age from 10 - 68 and all had an incredible time. The home has awesome, unobstructed views from EVERY room and is right on the beach.....the 10 year old was on the beach each day playing in the sand and surf for hours! The home is very comfortable, clean and well stocked. The owners are wonderful! There's very good golf nearby (really liked River Ridge), good restaurants (enjoyed the Italian food at Capriccio's on Main St. and Duke's on Seaward for weekend breakfast), kayaking, surfing, long walks on the beach, and so much, much more. Some of our SoCal friends and family came by for a visit and now want to arrange family reunions there. We'll be back next year for another 10 days! Pat from Albuquerque, NM
Owner response:Thanks Pat! You guys enjoyed some of the best weather of the year.....Fall in Ventura is my favorite time of year. See ya next time! Mike

Labor Day weekend 2011 - our first time at the Biedebach home. Erica met us and took us on a "tour" of their home. WOW! Everything we could have wanted! We had an amazing weekend with our sons, grandson and friends! Don't need to bring anything than your personal needs! SO grateful that I didn't need to bring linens for everyone! September 23, 24, 25, 26 - we return again because our first time was SO wonderful! Looking forward to returning soon!

This was our second year staying on the sand (and I mean right on the sand) in Ventura. This incredible home has all the amenities and toys you could want for a 5 star vacation. Ocean views from every room and sleeps 10 in comfort (you can hear the waves breaking from your bed). Nestled in an area of friendly locals, you feel more like a neighbor than a tourist - it was awesome. Less than an hour from LA and 20 minutes from Santa Barbara, it's secluded yet centrally located. The owners are locals too, extremely responsive and made sure all our needs were met. If you're looking to bring the family together, have a getaway with friends, a business offsite or just decompress from life - this home will provide the mojo!

Let me tell you that this is a VERY SPECIAL BEACH HOME AND THE OWNERS ARE FANTASTIC! We have been repeat renters now for 5 or 6 years and love it more each and every time we visit. This is simply the best beach-front rental in the area and our experiences are always made even more special because of the care that Mike and Erica put into the house and, even more so, into the time and memories that their guest's create... we will be back again very soon!

If you want to enjoy a truly great beach front experience, this is a top ten must. This was our first trip to Ventura Beach, the pictures of the home did not do it justice, The home is open and huge! The house was clean and easy to move into and feel at home ready! Very little cleanup required when checking out so no rushing around to get going after lazying around.Right on the beach and we were able to enjoy the beach immediately as well as watch the kids, from the porch when we or our younger kids needed a break. Our older children were able to bring along one friend each which gave us a total of 8 children , the home accommodated us all with no problems and no crowding on each other. My wife and I especially enjoyed the den area where we could side of for some quiet time. The laundry facilities were great stocked. Everything we needed was provided. Satellite TV with many rooms of TV options made is easy to keep kids of all ages entertained in the evening after a long day at the beach. The owners were great and very helpful. Ventura has so much to offer in addition to the beach, we also day tripped to channel Islands and Santa Barbara. This was a combination 20th anniversary celebration for my wife and myself as well as our family summer vacation. We were not disappointed. On a personal note we would like to thank Mike and Erica for opening their home up to us, I say home b/c they truly made it feel like we were at home! We would recommend this beach rental to anyone looking to have a truly great beach front experience! Thanks we had a great time!!
Owner response:Tim, thanks so much for the nice comments. We are glad you guys chose us for your first vacation rental home. Renting a home and feeling "at home" reallyl makes it a nice relaxing vacation. Until next time...... Cheers, Mike

Hard to capture the open, airy feeling of this house and the constant presence of the ocean in photos. This house has a very nice and relaxing feel and works well for a large group, having several areas to congregate. Everything is very clean and well maintained, nice beds and bedding, nice thick beach towels. There is a well appointed kitchen and lots of toys and kids things in the garage, yet very almost no clutter around the place so you will feel at home and have space to store your stuff. This is an outstanding rental!

My wife and I spent a week in March 2011 at this wonderful beach house and I don't think it would be possible for us to have had a more relaxing time. Our favorite part of each day was waking up to a pink sky and the sounds of a smooth sea and gentle waves. We found ourselves walking out the kitchen door each morning with our cup of coffee and just standing on the beachfront porch for hours taking in the view and watching the pelicans, seagulls, and periodic dolphins as they too started their morning rituals. The walks on the beach each day were also a highlight. What we really liked about the house is that it has an authentic "beach feel" to it with the interior design and furnishings. We would highly recommend this house to everyone. It is a great place to quietly unwind or for families who want a great place for their kids to have a nice beach experience. Thank you Mike and Erika! David and Shannon, Portland Oregon

My family and I so enjoyed our weekend at this family-friendly house! It was beautifully maintained and so comfortable! We felt at home right away and were greeted warmly by the owners, Mike and Erica, who were wonderful to work with and very accommodating. We loved the fact that the house was situated an equal walking distance between the pier/downtown and the marina. My niece and nephews loved the beach toys, the bunkbeds, and the zip-line at the marina! We had no idea that we would spend so much time leisurely wandering the beach looking for interesting rocks and elusive sea glass, but we did and loved every minute of it! We also loved sipping morning coffee on the deck or in the kitchen nook just staring at the waves! We would love to make a return trip sometime and would not hesitate to rent this property again. It was a pleasant experience in every way from start to finish! Thank you Mike and Erica!
Owner response:Melissa/Ruth, thanks so much for the kind comments. We are glad you had a great time. Please come back another time! We are currently remodeling the kitchen...new granite counters are installed, new cabinet doors, painting, electrical, new fridge and new Weber BBQ for outside should be complete within a week or two. Cheers, Mike

If any house could inspire rest, relaxation, and family togetherness, its th the last houe on teh right on Waterbury Lane. From points across the County and the Globe, we gathered to enjoy sun, surf, el capitan and of course, In-And-Out Burger. With a home to inspire us to forget about our lives back home, we found gorgeous sunsets, warm sand, kites in the garage, and very high tech washing machines. As we return to chilly temperatures in Macon, GA, a blizzard in Pittsfield, MA and temperatures in teh lowe celcius in Germany, we leave with new memoirs to cherish forever. PS - Thanks for the great TV's and cabinets full of toys........

We spend several weeks a year at this lovely ocean front home. It's well cared for, it's spacious and from almost every room you can see the ocean from morning 'til night. Ventura is known for its exceptional sunsets, and they are even more spectacular when you have a ringside seat. Our family has loved this beautiful experience no matter what time of the year we visit. P.S. Bring the fishing pole. There's a great jetty nearby and you DO catch fish. Nancy R and family

This vacation home was just as good as all the reviews said. Reviews aren't always accurate, but this time the reviews did not let me down. The beach house was lovely, very clean and well stocked. Kitchen had every tool/appliance we looked for, lots of beach toys in the garage, pack-n-play/stroller/high chair for babies, rooms were tastefully done and yet the home felt relaxed (or maybe it was the sound of the waves). Our hosts even graciously let us at their delicious albacore tuna in the extra freezer (that they caught on their own vacation)! We came from all around California to celebrate our father's 70th birthday and it served our needs perfectly. We were 6 adults, 1 teenager, 1 child, 1 baby and we were all had things to do to keep us all happy, and plenty of space to do it. Proximity to the beach couldn't have been better. Walkability to Seaward shops/eateries was perfect (I think perhaps 5-10 minutes tops walking along the beach). Only 2 or 3 small blocks away from the San Buenaventura State Beach walkway. Location was ideal. Even with the weather coming in and out of clouds and light showers, it was a beautiful location and home to enjoy it in.

We had such a great experience at the Biedebach Beach House! This was our first experiece renting a beach house. We stayed for 5nights and we were so glad that we chose this house over others we considered in the same area. The house was even better than the pictures and description in this listing. Each of us enjoyed our own space and bathrooms. We were even able to accomplish some work while sitting on the beach. Every room has an ocean view. The big windows and doors are amazing. This house is in a great location we were able to cruise to Santa Barbara, Solvang, Ojai, Malibu, and LA all of which were fairly close. The homeowners were very accomodating to our needs, they provided us with a crib, highchair, and stroller for our 9month old baby. Thank you, thank you. This house is truly a beach front house... nothing blocking beautiful views of the sandy beach and ocean waves. We were even able to watch dolphins swimming in the mornings. With this house you don't have to walk down the lane or kink your neck trying to see the ocean, it is all right there in front of you. We highly recommend this house for your next vacation, and hope to return ourselves sometime soon. Thanks again for a great vacation!

We loved staying at the Beidebach beachhouse. Located right on the sand, you could see and hear the waves from every room. You could also easily see dolphins swimming by in the mornings. We spent a long weekend there and when we didn’t feel like going out during the colder/windier days of early March, we could still enjoy the scenery. It was nice to step right out the door for walks on the beach or to climb the sand dunes. We didn’t explore the city much, but it was handy having Vons, Target, and Trader Joe’s nearby. The house is nicely decorated and equipped with a full kitchen including electric stovetop and double ovens, a nice outdoor grill, and a laundry room. Parking was easy with the garage and driveway. The house slept 8 comfortably and we were even able to make a 4th “bedroom” out of the downstairs family room (it has its own door and is adjacent to the downstairs bathroom). Mike and Erica were also a key part to making this a great stay – they’re really easy going and helpful. A big thank you to them for helping to make this a great vacation and 60th birthday celebration!

We had a marvellous week in the Beach House in October 2009. The house is light, spacious and very well equipped - the photographs of the interiors on the website do not do it justice. We loved its position right on the beach and particularly enjoyed watching all the birds and the dolphins during the day and listening to the waves at night. Mike and Erica were perfect hosts and looked after us extremely well. We are already planning our return trip to stay in this very special house.

Mike and Erica, we had a wonderful time here enjoying the sun, surf, and sand. You have a great place and our entire family enjoyed their stay while we celebrated our son's college graduation. We would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks for the hospitality.

We were here for the month of May. Everything you needed was at the house from spices to detergents to kayaks. Although it was "gray May" most of our days were cool, clear and sunny. The house is open and airy and very comfortable. Very functional kitchen and dining areas and plenty of places to watch TV. Location is great with easy access to Hwy 101 and main section of town where the restaurants. Also a short ride to the Ventura harbor with it's shops and the Ventura pier. Saw Erica when we arrived and never saw them after that. Highly recommend this house for visiting Ventura. The views and the beach are beautiful. Neighborhood very quiet and plenty of parking Al

This is a great rental house - right on the beach with beautiful views. Very comfortable rooms, including an open living space with vaulted ceilings that was a perfect 'hang-out' spot for our group. The owners were a pleasure to interact with as well. Thanks for a great stay!

We had the time of our lives at the Biedebach beach house! Surf fishing, long walks on the beach, and nights around the fire pit were just some of the amazing memories created that week. The house had absolutely everything we wanted and needed, and was absolutely beautiful and sparkling clean. We were very sad to leave, and miss the beautiful sound of the waves each day! We would highly recommend this beach house to anyone!
