We have spent the past 2 months at "Grace" and loved every minute! Everything is accurately described and the location can't be beat. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds are very comfortable with the added pleasure of the sound of the surf to send you to sleep. Everything is in working condition and there are plenty of cooking utensils and dishes to serve a large family. The deck is large and unlike many of the homes that have only covered decks this has the option of both, which came in handy on the cooler days. We really didn't experience much of problem with bugs...a few no-seeums, but nothing intolerable. No bugs in the house at all. Bob could not be better to work with and is very prompt if any problems occur. The beach is pet friendly and our golden retriever had a blast chasing birds and meeting new friends. Everyone in this small community was very friendly and we made lots of new friends. Port St Joe and Apalachicola are just a short distance with lots of dining options. Our favorite was Indian Pass and The Owl Cafe. The bike path is right out the back door and there are several places to kayak. We loved kayaking at the state park down the road. Long beach walks are a must and it is nice to watch the waves from the front deck and the upper bedroom as well. After a long day outside it was nice to curl up in front of the TV and there are also plenty of games, books and puzzles for rainy days. We don't fish, but spoke with plenty of happy fisherman in search of redfish, snapper, trout and shark. The beach is very wide here and not crowded with people so don't wait to check this out...you won't be disappointed.

Just returned from our first scalloping trip. Even with reports of this being a bad year for scallops, we did pretty good, and were able to find enough for a 7-person dinner of scallops and pasta. Amazing Grace was our home away from home on the trip. The home is spacious (3 full bathrooms. Awesome!) and has a good assortment of kitchen utensils to work with. It's centrally located, so marina and State park were easy commutes. Bob worked with us to have an earlier check-in, and split the week since we couldn't take advantage of a full week's rental. He couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. We hope to be back again in years to come. Thanks for your hospitality.

Enjoyed our week at Amazing Grace. The house is comfortable with large bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, and a nice open and covered deck where we ate most of our meals. The outside hot/cold shower was used by all of us when returning from the beach and my 3 year old twin granddaughters loved it. The one big negative is that the carpet is worn and stained and should probably be replaced. Cell phone service on Cape San Blas is very spotty..but all in all we had an enjoyable week with kayaking, snorkeling in the Bay, bicycling and horseback riding.

My family had a great week at Amazing Grace. The beach is not crowded and very relaxing. We had a campfire one night and some went on a romantic sunset horseback ride with Broke A Toe stables. The owner Kelly was in on the romantic proposal my future son -in-law made to my daughter. Amazing Grace is roomy. I suggested to Bob to add some new baking sheets and hand mixer and he said he would. The grill to use is pretty old and dirty so I would not count on using it. Pets on a leash are welcome on the beach, which was great. St. Joe is 8 miles away with grocery store and other shops. Thanks Bob for being so helpful and friendly.

We loved our stay here at the "Cape"! This home is very spacious, with full service kitchen, large bedrooms and great covered deck. It is a short walk to the beach, and we enjoyed the wide flat white sandy beach here. Thanks for a great vacation and wonderful memories!

Had a great time at Amazing Grace! Really, the photos don't do it justice -- the place is really quite large, and the deck is fantastic and huge! Our dog loves Cape San Blas and can't wait to come back. Bob couldn't have been friendlier or more responsive, and he refunded our deposit very quickly. Remember to bring bottled water -- the tap water at the beach is not very pleasant!

THE BEAUTIFUL BEACH WAS ALL OURS AT SPRING BREAK AND THE HOUSE WAS THE PERFECT LOCATION--AN EASY WALK TO THE BOARDWALK WITH THE KIDS AND THE DOG AND WE ENJOYED SITTING ON THE DECK IN THE AFTERNOONS. THE HOUSE HAS ALL YOU NEED TO STAY COMFORTABLY (WOULD LOVE TO MOVE RIGHT IN)...VERY COMFORTABLE BEDS, PLENTY OF DISHES AND UTENSILS, WASHER/DRYER. THE OWNER IS VERY KIND AND EASY TO RENT FROM. WE HAVE BEEN HOME 4 DAYS AND ARE READY TO RETURN FOR OUR NEXT TRIP. THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR HOUSE WITH US.

After reviewing many houses on VRBO in Cape San Blas, we settled on Bob's place Amazing Grace. We settled on it mostly because of how friendly, and super responsive Bob was before even getting our booking. He was always available to answer any questions before and after our stay in his home. The home is very nicely decorated and well equipped. We had a blast and would recommend Cape San Blas to anyone or any family looking for a quiet beach vacation. The most popular activity we did was catching blue crabs by the bridge in Port St. Joe. We just used a inexpensive nylon crab net we got from the bait shop in Port St. Joe with a chicken back inside of it. Threw the net in the water for a few minutes and when we pulled it out, there was almost always a crab in it. They make for awesome eating and my kiddos loved catching and eating them. We also went on a fishing boat in the bay with Doghouse Charter's Kenny. What a great time and a great company. This house is located in a private area by a few other houses and we also got to meet some of the families around us. It is a very quiet, out of tourist's way area, and we highly recommend not only Amazing Grace, but Cape San Blas in general! Thanks so much Bob!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at "Grace" and smiled at God's leading us to a 2-night rental called 'Amazing Grace' at a time when my family needed it! As you probably know, it is very difficult to find a 2-night rental yet Bob worked it out for us. We arrived after 9 pm Saturday and my husband and I left at 10 pm Sunday night. Our son and family were able to stay until Monday morning. We had a full day on the beach Sunday. Even the 20 minute rain didn't deter us! Enjoyed dinner at Sunset Coastal Grill Sunday in Port St Joe. Amazing Grace's interior is spacious and inviting. We enjoyed the large deck, too. Our 3 year old grandson loved the VHS/DVD selection. The owners truly provide their guests with lots to enjoy in this serene setting. Thank you for opening your beach home to us.

Thank you for a wonderful week at Cape San Blas. Even though the weather was not the best we were able to enjoy our visit and have wonderful accomodations. The home was wonderful upon arrival and made our stay very comfortable. The owner, Bob, is a wonderful person to deal with. He promptly replies to questions and is very helpful. The home is very spacious and bright. There are plenty of books and movies for the young ones, my daughter picked out her favorites for the week and was able to relax in her own bedroom. The kitchen is large and well equipped. There is a large dining table and the living room is very comfortable, we had friends over for cookouts and enjoyed the large deck as well as the large dining room table. Even though the weather did not always cooperate, our stay was enjoyable.

We stayed at Amazing Grace over the Thanksgiving holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The house is clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly want. The area is remote and quite, which is exactly what we wanted. The view and beach are fantastic. People are friendly all over the area. I would definitely recommend Amazing Grace to all my family and friends looking for a quite place to get away from it all.

We have had several stays at Amazing Grace and have never been disappointed. It is nicely decorated, very clean and well equipped. The bedroom that we use is decorated in a cool beach cottage style and the bed is very comfortable. We like the partial open deck and the size is large enough and enclosed for our dog to rome freely while we relax, enjoy the view and have a bit of nibbles and/or a beverage of choice. We loved to take our coffee out in the mornings and watch the sun rise. And, there is no question that you will see the most beautiful sunsets ever. The little community is very well maintained and provides a feeling of safety and security. We have been at various times of the year, so it was nice to have the fireplace during the cooler times which adds to the ambiance. During our most recent visit, the weather was perfect and we were out everyday enjoying the most beautiful beach. We were practically the only ones out there. Then the occasional horses would pass by us which was very cool. We did some bike riding on the beach and there are areas that are totally secluded and I can’t imagine anything more beautiful. We can't go to Cape San Blas without having some oysters at the Indian Raw Bar. It's an old general store turned raw bar. Very casual dining where you even go up and get your own pitcher of beer. Lots of character. Bob is always accommodating with us and just a fantastic person. He’s very easy to work with and really wants you to have a great vacation and enjoyable stay at their beach house. You cannot go wrong by spending your beach vacation in Cape San Blass and staying at Amazing Grace. I can't wait until next time!!

I stayed here with my family for a week in September. Cape San Blas is beautiful in the fall. The temperature is ideal. It's not too hot and not too cold. Every morning I walked out on the beach to watch the sun come up. What a way to start your day! The owner is a wonderful person to deal with. He promptly replies to questions and is very helpful. The home is exactly as described, more than we expected actually. It is very spacious and bright. There are plenty of books and movies for the young ones though my twins were usually too exhausted after playing in the waves all day to read and why watch TV when there is an amazing sandbar stretching out into the gulf just outside. The kitchen is large and well equipped. There is a large dining table and the living room is very comfortable. We are a small family but there is plenty of room here for a very large family to stay without feeling crowded. The bedrooms are open and bright. I loved sleeping with the window open to hear the surf. The smallest bedroom is very cute with twin beds perfect for small children. There is a lot of closet space in the bedrooms! The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are a bit steep. If you have trouble climbing stairs this might not be the place for you. That is the only possible drawback I can think of. I am hoping to stay here again sometime this summer, perhaps with my brother and his family. Cape San Blas is a very special place. I vacationed here as a child with my extended family. Those were magical weeks each summer. Very little has changed there and it was such a joy to share this place with my children. I cannot think of a better rental to have done this in. Just perfect.

The house is very comfortable. The living space and bedrooms are spacious. We loved the people and all the friendly dogs. One neighbor had a little jack russel who knew to come up to our porch for some scratching. The beach is very pretty and natural. No high rises or gaudy gift shops.

We have just returned from our annual 4th of July vacation at "Amazing Grace". I would just like any reader of this review to know that if you are looking for a vacation beach house that has everything, you should book this house. First, it has the best view of the Gulf from the spacious deck than the adjacent houses. You can walk to the boardwalk in a minute and be on the beautiful pristine beach on the Gulf within 2-3 minutes. The area is just perfect for your pets, I walked our dog around the complex at least 2 times a day. Now about the house, the kitchen is fully equipped with all up to date appliances, more dishes than you can use, and a great ice maker in the fridge for cold drinks! The living room has a great TV and plenty of room to gather, very nice dining area as well. The bedrooms are all large enough and have 2 more TV's. All the linens are supplied and it is so peaceful at night, you truly get a good nights rest. Our family, daughter, her husband. grandkids, and both of us compliment the owners for keeping this home in great condition We have posted pictures on our Facebook account and our friends wish they could join us. As long as the home is available, we would never consider renting anywhere else.......it is the BEST!

Owner response: Thank you for the wonderful review - we are so thankful for your renting and taking such good care of the house.

Our family has chosen Cape San Blas as the preferred site for our annual vacation for three years running and we are smitten with the peace and beauty of this "forgotten" destination. So, when the Gulf Oil disaster struck, we were determined to make the journey as soon as we could, and Grace was available and pet-friendly. Bob was very easy to work with. He is clearly a man of integrity ... honest, prompt and flexible, too. We were concerned that our visit might be ruined by the oil, but he reassured us that he would make everything right for us in the event that that should happen. He was VERY generous with his offer. I would recommend doing business with him to my closest friend. We found Grace to be more than everything we needed. It is spacious, quiet and well-appointed. It is steps to the beach and there is ample outdoor space for the dogs to be walked, too. The deck is large and we enjoyed many hours sitting outside watching the ocean and enjoying the breeze. The bedrooms were nicely decorated and the mattresses were quite comfortable, unlike the previous two places we had rented. The only negative that I can say about the place is that it is carpeted, which doesn't work well with pets frequenting the place (in my opinion). I am a clean freak and interior decorator, so I always leave a place nicer than when I found it, but there isn't much one can do about carpeting. Our dogs are housebroken and we crate them whenever we leave to go out. But not everyone is as conscientious about their pets. All this being said, we did have a wonderful week at Grace and would highly recommend it to others. If you are seeking a quiet retreat for a very good value, Grace is the place for you!

Owner response: Thank you Susie, we are happy you had a good time. Our family has found Cape San Blas to be a very magical and special place and we are always happy when other families "discover" the Joy's of the area.

We had a great vacation at Amazing Grace. It's a very peaceful place; we enjoyed the many family games and puzzles in the house. Plenty of space for our family of 5 plus dog. Our youngest especially loved the sunny bedroom facing the beach, and claimed it as soon as she saw it. Thank you for all you've done to make it such a special place.

I would definitely stay here next time I visit there. As a matter of fact, I actually hope this house does not get too much exposure so that it gets too fully booked every season!

This was our first time staying in this house and it was a very enjoyable experience. The beach was nice and quiet and the house was very comfortable for three adults a college student and a four year old. We like to kayak and this was a great location both from the beach near the house and nice locations in St Joe's bay and Indian Pass. We had a very peaceful relaxing stay and for once our lab-newfoundland mix was competely worn out everyday. Thanks

If you are looking to get away from the hubbub, this is the perfect place. The beach is unspoiled and it is wonderful to be the only people in sight. We brought our two dogs, who frolicked in the waves and had a blast. At night, there are a million stars since there is absolutely no light pollution. Truly amazing. As far as beach vacations go, the serenity and seclusion of Sand Blas make us want to come back! Thanks!

We had an absolutely fabulous vacation here! We have two small kids, and this house was perfect for them because of all of the space and bathrooms. The property is almost as close to the beach as you can possibly get, so it was easy to go back to the house when an item was forgotten or a snack was needed for one of the kids. The beach itself was very uncrowded and beautiful. We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves (quite a difference from our other beach experiences - Myrtle, etc.). This is a special place!
