This condo has been our summer vacation choice to return to year after year! We have two small children and it has suited our needs very well! We love the easy pool and beach access and the views! My parents stayed in October and enjoyed the private, quiet setting. We love being at the far end of the beach and have never had to deal with a tourist crowd! We love all the amenities that are provided in the gated community. Also, so many other things to do and see within a 30 minute driving distance! Thad has been very accommodating. We appreciate renting from an owner who is trustworthy and attentive.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children.

Lovely Condo

This was our 4th trip to Isle of Palms/Charleston area. We had previously stayed at Seagrove and Mariners Walk. I knew that I wanted to stay further down the island because the beaches are larger and it is less crowded. I found the one bedroom condo on the HomeAway site and it looked perfect for my husband and me. The condo was exactly as pictured. It was nicely decorated, spacious, clean and the screened in porch was awesome. We spent many evenings sitting on the porch, listening to the ocean and watching the stars. Thad was very prompt in responding to my inquiry and all other email questions. Moving our things into the condo was very easy due to it being a first floor unit and parking was 15 feet away. One bonus not listed was that there was an internet router in the condo. It was also a major plus to be able to walk off the porch, beach gear in tow and go directly to the pool and the beach. The pool at Port O Call is also very nice. Would highly recommend the Acme Cantina, Morgan Creek Grill, Crab House in Mt. Pleasant and Sullivan's on Sullivan's Island to dine. There is some much to do in Charleston I can not list everything. My husband really enjoys golfing at Dunes West. Isle of Palms is the one place I could return to every year to enjoy the beach and all of the attractions in the area.

Loved the condo and loved Wild dunes

We just returned from visiting Port of Call in Wild Dunes during our breakweek from school in April. I must say, I was a little nervous about booking directly with an owner since you never know these days who you are dealing with and whether they are trustworthy. However, it turned out that both Thad and Riccardo were very easy to work with. Thad returned my emails promptly and was always very helpful and courteous. I had trouble getting the lockbox to work when we got here but both of them returned my calls in a timely manner and we got everything worked out. The condo is exactly how it was described. It was very clean and freshly remodeled and the furniture was all very comfortable and in excellent shape. We were traveling with friends and family who were in condos on the 2nd floor which were on the ends of the buildings on the ocean with awesome beach views but my husband and I liked this condo better. The walk out 1st floor is very handy as we just locked the back door and walked out off the porch to the pool or ocean. It does have a nice view of the pool area and the ocean just as it's pictured. Wild Dunes is a very nice gated community with lots to do. Everyone was super nice and I always felt safe on the property. We played golf one day on the links course. It was quite expensive but since we only played once it was a nice treat. The course is beautiful and the last 2 holes are right on the ocean. I would definately recommend this property. We liked eating at Morgan's Creek Grill, both downstairs and up. Upstairs is casual and less expensive bar and grill food and we liked it there. However, downstairs, the food and service were awesome. The view is nice of the Marina and all the boats coming and going from either. We also liked eating at The Boathouse. It's a busy place, so go early or plan on waiting and having a drink while watching the sun set. The food was excellent and well worth the wait. You might want to rent bikes at wild dunes one day and ride around the complex which is huge or the island. Lots of people were also riding bikes on the very large beach, as there is part of the beach that is more packed sand and great for walking and riding. You definately want to go into Charleston and take a carriage ride tour and shop on market street. Hope this helps you decide. This was our first trip to the Charleston area as we usually went to the Myrtle Beach area but I would love to go back. You'll love it!

Fabulous Time in a Nice Area

This property was very nice and was bigger than I had first expected! It had just been remodeled and you could tell that a great deal of thought was put into making your stay a welcoming one. The king sized bed was very comfortable and the views were as advertised. I visited in April 2010 and found Wild Dunes to have a nice neighborhood feel within an upscale resort/vacation rental area. The beaches were beautiful and well maintained and there is plenty to do all around you. This property provided a great location for the day trips to Charleston, Patriot's Point, Folly Beach, and St. James Island. The best thing about my whole rental experience was the AMAZING customer service that I received from Thad while obtaining information concerning the property and completing the rental transaction. It was extremely hassle free and would definitely recommend this property to anyone who would like to have a relaxing, worry-free get-a-way. The screened-in back porch area is perfect for a relaxing drink in the evening or for a great cup of coffee in the morning. All I can say is come ready to relax and ENJOY! Thanks Thad! Will definitely be back!

Owner response:Thanks for the great review. The only thing is we do not accept pets . Wild dunes has had an ordinance against pets for short term rentals.
