This beautiful house located in one of the most characteristic corners of Perugia has been shown on two of the most well known interior design magazines in Italy: "AD Architectural Digest" and "Bravacasa." It has been restored and lovingly furnished by the owners, two University professors that fell in love with this intact medieval merchant’s quarter!
The antique house is located in the heart of Perugia in a quiet "cul-de-sac" lane paved with bricks, a few minutes walk from Piazza IV Novembre, the Cathedral and Corso Vannucci, parking is at a walking distance.
Bricks, stones, one house glued to the other, silence, a typical medieval atmosphere. Through a secure wooden door you enter into the cozy living room dominated by the furnishings designed by the owner, the long shelf decorated with the profile of their cat and the lamps made out from dried out leaves, memories of trips abroad: plates from afghanistan and frames from Nigeria.
Behind the living room you have the well equipped kitchen with a nice travertine finishing and the dining room with wooden chairs and table for six guests. On the wall a writing that tells us about the merchant that used to live in this house.
The antique stair made out of stone takes you to the second floor in a hall where you have a wooden boiserie i.e. a large hidden wooden wardrobe and a single emergency bed covered by tunisian cushions, on the right the bathroom with shower. On the left the total white master bedroom welcomes you, the bed with baldachin and the white linen curtains, the furniture that reproduces pieces seen in the cells of franciscan monks of Assisi give us a unique feeling of peace.
A few steps take you to the second bathroom with shower illuminated by a skylite and the studio with the original wooden beams, three large windows that illuminate the whole room, antique cotto on the floor and a warm atmosphere secured by the designer’s desk; maroon, orange, golden tones for the cushions and fabrics that furnish this space. A large comfortable mattress placed on the concrete footboard gives the possibility to have a sofa use and a double bed possibility.
