  My family has stayed at mainsail many times over the last 2 decades, we love it! This cottage however, is by far the best cottage we have stayed in! The layout is the best! Main floor master, an extra bathroom compared to all the others!! Plus its closest to the beach!!!

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

  This beautifully (and simply) decorated, well appointed Mainsail cottage was just about perfect for our family vacation. The only downside was the lack of internet service, but we knew that going in, and hey, it's a vacation! We all had smart-phones and there are plenty of near enough free WiFi hot spots to satisfy any emergencies. The full, well stocked kitchen was a delight. Just add food from any of the nearby grocery stores and you're good to go! The dining nook was a particularly appreciated space. The way it's set apart makes it convenient sort of sanctuary if anyone in your party needs to take a little work on vacation with them. (Heaven forbid, but it happens, usually to my Dad.) There was plenty of space for the 6 adults we had there at a time to spread out and not drive each other too crazy. The porches and back lawn space were very nice. We didn't have any young children with us, but I imagine the bunk room would have been a delight, especially for girls. (It's quite a pink room.) Being centrally located in Mainsail, the walk to the beach or either of the two pools is an easy one. Being centrally located in the Miramar Beach side of Destin, I imagine vacationing here without a car would be quite easy with a bike rental. Pretty much any convenience you could want is within an easy mile or two, from coffee shops and grocery stores to the highly vaunted outlets and multiple "beach stores" to keep you properly attired for the locale. =) Several top notch beachfront restaurants are a short distance down the scenic gulf drive, a few well known chains are also an easy distance. As per the encouragement to recommend local restaurants, when you've had all the seafood you can stand, I would recommend checking out Lin's Asian Cuisine. Good Chinese food can be hard to find, so I was very pleased to find this place to be tasty, affordable, and convenient! We're always a bit concerned about parking since we usually come down and leave separately, so I'm pleased to report that finding space for all of the up to 4 cars we had there at a time was a piece of cake. There are two driveways adjacent to the house that can hold 4 cars with little difficulty, and a covered parking deck to keep out of that scorching Florida sun is a short 30 or 40 feet away. Overall, a very high recommendation for this property. Thanks, Chris!

  This is exactly what we needed for our family. It was the best, Chris was so great and we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, the house is so comfortable and the beach was the best. Everyone can't wait till we can go back. Highly recommend the Donut Hole for breakfest ( go early) Shopping, resturants, entertainment all close by but we enjoyed the beach so much we cooked at the cottage alot so we could stay on the beach. The kitchen is fully equiped with all your needs. Everyone was sad to go, Thanks for a wonderful vacation and for the use of your beautiful home.

  This house was wonderful, the staff at Mainsail is fabulous, courteous and very helpful! The house has everything you need, and is immaculate! We will be back next summer too!
