Tastefully decorated, this spacious home features a large living room, a dining room that seats 8, a family-style kitchen and large back porch with washer and dryer, a deck with a view of Mount Shasta and a large front and back yard. It is located on a quiet street only a short walk to downtown, and only 15 minutes from the Mt. Shasta Ski Park and other outdoor destinations.

Everything We Needed For Our Trout Fishing Base Camp

This place was perfect for our needs. My two brothers and I for the last 10 years have gone on one week fishing trips at various locations throughout The West; we've had good experiences and we've had bad experiences. The McCloud house gets 5 stars! It was neat as a pin and quite roomy. The kitchen was well supplied with all the pots and pans, utensils, cups, knives, etc. that we needed. The laundry was an added plus. It's not a fancy-smancy place, so if you have strong Orvis-like sensibilities, you will want to stay elsewhere. However, if your tastes lean toward the functional fishing base camp, you can't beat it. Everyone we met in McCloud was friendly, helpful, and willing to give us fishing tips without hesitation, which has often not been the case in other towns in which we've stayed. On a whim, we attended a Saturday Night October Fest dinner at the local McCloud Catholic Church. The place was packed with friendly local folks. The food was served by church volunteers and was quite tasty. They had brought in a German Folk Dance troop for entertainment. All three of us were asked to dance, which we did of course. Totally fun. The owner was helpful and responsive throughout.

This mountain cabin was the perfect get away for our family!! We arrived to find an immaculately clean house with everything we could possibly need. It was such a charming house and the town was just as enchanting. It was as if we stepped back in time. One morning we were out for a walk and met the sweetest old gentleman (Sam) he is a neighbor and he told us the secret to a long marriage was to never go to bed mad!! Our kids had a great time Skiing at the local ski resort and it was nice when they arrived back later to have a sit down meal. They are older and this happens less and less.We ate, played cards and laughed and laughed. I cant wait to go back this summer!! I hope we run into Sam :) Hehe...

This is our second stay at the Mountain House. We love the cozy, homey atmosphere and general sense of welcome we feel when we arrive. The house is well-stocked and immaculate. The proximity to the ski park is an added plus, but the quaint town of McCloud also offers lots of exploration options. We LOVE this place and will, without a doubt, make it our destination again and again and again.

My partner and I stayed there for a weekend with a couple of friends and we loved the house. It's very cozy, nice, clean and has everything you need. Was definitely very well taken care of. The mountains are so beautiful and there is so much stuff to do around the area! It's a good price for what you're getting. I'd definitely go back!

It was a great weekend. This house has a lot to offer for a decent price. The WIFI is a BIG plus. It's pretty much everything you would ever want in your own house. Washer/dryer, dishwasher, cable tv, dvd, many bedrooms. Overall very nice and felt like home in a cute little neighborhood, steps from downtown McCloud and super close to the ski resort. Definitely planning on going back!

The mountain house is an exceptionally clean, comfortable place to get away, with super- accomodating owners! We had a blast playing in the snow in the yard and it is in such a convenient location to run to the ski-park and back! The house is set up perfectly to keep everyone comfortable with the extra bonus of kids toys and movies. We had a lovely time and found the house to be stocked with everything we needed and more. Thanks! We can't wait to come back during fishing season this summer!

This is our first winter at Mccloud and we enjoyed every minute of it. The house added to our comfort. The kids had enough room to run around and play and good beds to sleep in. Will be back again definitely to McCloud and hope we get this house again.
