We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nice hot showers, plenty of linens and a relaxing area for us to gather in after the activities of the day. Beds comfortable and rooms spacious. We were able to cook in the well supplied kitchen so that we didn't have to go to a restaurant for every meal. We didn't have far to drive to get to any point of interest. Owner was great to deal with. We would definitely recommend it to all.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I think Paula would expect more attention to detail and decor. Front door lock and key were difficult. Tub in small bathroom was very slow to drain and there were not enough wash cloths and hand towels for this bathroom. Living room could use a ceiling fan for more circulation of air conditioning since thermostat was to stay at 77. House was not swept well before our arrival. My husband found a clipped toenail on the living room floor and I noticed a large hair pin was left on the rug in the king size bedroom from previous renters. A welcome basket would have been nice. After all, Paula's name is a draw to this house, and I'm sure that's how she would want people to feel, welcomed and cared for.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: 4 out of 5 rating. Thank you. That's Great. Thank you for coming and renting our house. We have kept the house as original as possible and upgraded the a/c system to today's standards and left the temperature settings up to our guests. I have advised our housekeeping and maintenance of your recommendations. Thank you.

It was a very nice and cozy house. Needs a very good cleaning and some updating. There were dust bunnies under the couch. Seems like the house needs a lot of updating on things for example like the kitchen utensils. Needs consistency with the cutlery and the dishes. I appreciate this is a rental property and people sometimes do not take care of things but seems like the owner has not visited in a while. The gas grill was a mess and was unusable. Great location was the best part of the rental. Would reccommend if it was given a good cleaning and updating.Owner response: Thank you for your constructive recommendations. The house has just been deep cleaned and the gas grill has been replaced. The utensils have also recently been replaced. We take our guest comments seriously and have left a comment book in the house for ideas, needs and wants. We review this book quite often and make it a point to be proactive. Our main goal is to ensure that our guests have an enjoyable, relaxing experience through out their entire vacation. We thank you again for your feedback.

Our stay in the Paula Deen house was wonderful! It was in a good location and we enjoyed the "togetherness" it provided our family instead of individual hotel rooms. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the back yard was a nice added bonus! We would love to return to Savannah and stay again at this location! The house was great! Just like going to see an old friend and staying with them. :) It was clean, cozy, and inviting. The view out the kitchen window was just perfect. We at "The Lady and Sons" our first night there, and the food was excellent. Just a short drive to downtown Savannah, where there was so much to see and do. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a great vacation.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We took the trip for my mom's 70th Birthday. There were 7 ladies altogether. Needless to say there was a lot of giggling. The house was nice. We didn't find the leaf for the table until the last day but we got along just fine. The price was great. The backyard was really nice. Had a little trouble with the gate to take out the trash. It's a 2 handed gate so I just took someone along with me. It wouldn't hurt for the house to be freshened up (paint job) but overall we were all very happy with it. I would recommend it to anyone going down to Savannah for a visit.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My 2 sisters and three nieces and I stayed there in July of 2011. We truly loved the house. It beats the heck out of a hotel. There was plenty of room and we enjoyed having our coffee outside in the back yard every morning. I would recommend this house to anyone who travels to Savannah.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I stayed here in June of 2011 and enjoyed it so much. The house is warm and comfortable. It was clean and well-maintained and I would recommend this to anyone who has in interest in the Deen family. The Lady and Sons Restaurant was delicious but I have to say that I enjoyed Uncle Bubba's Shrimp House, which is Paula and her brother Bubba's restaurant, even better. Took the Hurst Ghost Tour and loved it. Took the Tolly tour and loved it....I loved everything about Savannah.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband, myself and our 2 adult children spent a week at this house in April 2011. It was very clean, comfy, quiet, and the perfect place to relax after spending a day touring Savannah and Tybee Island. This house is in a quiet neighborhood with shopping close by. There is plenty of room in the house. The bedrooms are nice sized and so is the living room. Having 4 adults on vacation together, we had plenty of room for everyone to get their own "space" in the evenings relaxing and mornings while we were all getting ready to go on our excursions. The house is a short drive to downtown Savannah, where there is plenty of parking and not a bad drive to Tybee Island where there are lots of beaches. It felt like you were going home after exhausting yourself from the busy day sightseeing. Ed was wonderful to work with. Everything was the way he explained things and nothing was wrong with the house. Must go to restaurant is the Breakfast Club on Tybee Island. Best breakfast ever! Our kids liked the vacation so much, we are planning on going back next spring.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The property was great! It was clean upon arrival and very welcoming. There was every ammenity available that we wanted in the kitchen and we did some cooking while there. How could we not - we had to try cooking in Paula Deen's old kitchen. It was great to have such a wonderful home atmosphere during the Christmas season! The way they have cared for this bungalow is amazing. It was perfect for the four of us - giving us each separate spaces for the week we were there. The only thing that was missing was in the newly added bath space attached to one bedroom was better lighting. There was only a light from the overhead ceiling fan and no side lights on either of the mirrors. Made shaving and putting on make-up a challenge. Outside of that - a perfect place and we'd stay there again anytime!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, sightseeing.

Our stay at the Paula Dean house was just what we needed . We found the house clean and comfortable . It was within a 10 minute drive to restaurants and shops . We were in Savannah for a wedding so we really only needed a place to sleep and shower . The home owner was very helpful especially with arrival and departure times . I would recommend this property to people who are looking for a clean ,quiet and comfortable house in the Savannah area .Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 25/25
